Not that I'm particularly aware of, but I've never been a huge fan of that angle anyways. It makes the tag division look weak as hell if the tag team champs can't beat two guys that can't work together.

That's fair, though I guess I have a different perspective on the angle. I don't think it makes the tag champions look any weaker than a standard championship loss since it's usually a team of main eventers which on paper should compare favorably to two pseudo-midcarders. I like the excitement aspect of it and the way it could be used as broad tag team storyline. Other random teams could form on the premise that if two guys can get together and win the titles, why can't they, and then those teams could either break up and lead to a feud or become a long term unit or what have you...the established teams could get angry about it and band together to reclaim the titles for the teams that have put in the work at it, which could spawn new and exciting tag team rivalries from the tension in the division...that kind of stuff.

Or (in WWE's case) it's a lazy booking option to create tension between two guys feuding, which inevitable ends with the heel turning on the face to lose the titles. Basically it turns the tag titles into props at that point and time, and especially if it involves feuding over a different title at the same time. The heel not wanting to hold onto the World Tag Team Titles just makes the titles look unimportant. If you hold gold, you should want to hold onto it as long as possible. Unless you're Big Dave and get over your head by dropping the Eurasian title to go for the World Title. Clearly the guy has an ego and wouldn't put anyone over .
