Wyatt Family to debut soon

Getting Noticed By Management
As many of you may or may not have seen during Raw's last hour, The Wyatt Family have finally been promoted to the main roster and gave us an eerie video package hyping their debut soon. Much of it was exactly what we've seen before on NXT only this time it would seem that Harper and Rowan will actually be a vocal part of the group in their own right. Other than that, it seems that they are keeping the dynamic of the group and the gimmick intact and thats the most relieving part of it all because its so unique and intriguing to me and nothing like this is going on at the moment on Raw or Smackdown

I for one am ecstatic that the group has made their move up because they were one of the main focuses of NXT and really what makes it such a great show to watch currently. Also, it seemsMy question to you would be, who do you want to see them target first and what do you think will happen upon their debut?

I've heard nothing but good things about this group of guys, I have never seen them because I don't watch NXT but after that clip tonight I am very intrigued and eager to see what they have to offer. Seems like a group dynamic that I could really get behind.

Look I am all happy for the Wyatt Family debuting... But lets be honest. Showing Vingettes at this point in the WWE doesn't really mean anything. The only recent vigenette that came with a real quick pay off was Sin Cara.

Looking at the past, the two that come to my mind are Fandango, and Brodus Clay. Both took FOREVER and a day for them to actually debut.

I feel we will still be waiting at least two months, and maybe will not come till Survivor Series.

I really don't want to see The Wyatt Family debuting just like every other debut. Basically having the entire midcard fed to them in squash matches and then getting shoved into a program with a main event face.

The Wyatt Family SHOULDN'T be doing the same thing that the Shield are doing. Every stable doesn't HAVE to be a "biggest threat to the company". They shouldn't be thrown into the main event scene right away because then there's nowhere to go but down and people will complain that they've been "buried"

If they just Squash Zack Ryder or some other midcard faces for the first few weeks, all they've served to do is further perpetuate the "non main event faces don't matter" environment that we've been subjected to for the past few years, and thus their presence is no real improvement to the product.

Ideally, I'd like them to be firmly in the midcard, as an unstoppable force and midcard faces (not named Kofi, Khali or Hornswoggle) stepping up to challenge them. Have them go over all the midcard faces in competitive matches to help rebuild the midcard.

I'm really high on these guys (especially Husky/Bray) but this isn't how I would've debuted them right out of the gate. I think it would've been more impactful to have Bray debut by himself to establish him as the most important/leader initially, and then have him convert or indoctrinate the other members ala the Straight Edge Society, or more realistically the Manson family, which is what this is kind of based on. Maybe from there, somebody that's sort of floundering around in the bottom of the card could get a gimmick refresh by having him play with their mind.

My fear with debuting them this way is that they come in as yet another 3 man team where the WWE will have a hard time figuring out how to effectively use all 3 members, they've done a pretty good job thus far with the Shield, but even with them it's obvious they are treating Amrbose like the break out star, just like Heath Slater is the clear standout of 3MB. The Wyatt family isn't going to have the same "cool" factor as the Shield, but they also aren't a comedy jobber team like 3MB, so it may be hard to make them work like this. Hopefully Bray operates as a solo competitor and the other members are just his brainwashed cronies, until they break off one day.

Long story short, can't wait for their main roster debut. With the serious lack of stars at the moment between all the part timers leaving, and others out on breaks, injuries, etc. now seems like the perfect time to push some fresh talent like they are doing with Axel and the Shield, hope the Wyatt family are the next ones to benefit from this.

I think some of us are getting ahead of ourselves. A vignette does not preclude a strong debut. This is what needs to happen. Keep bringing these guys up. WWE is planting seeds in the form of The Shield, Big E, Fandango, Curtis Axel, and now The Wyatts, and it could be a good harvest.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I am really stoked about them. Bray Wyatt really looks like a character that I could find myself enjoying immensely. On the other hand I don't see the Vince McMahon type of guy. It will take amazing creativity to get them over in the PG era. This would have been amazing in the Attitude Era alongside The Ministry of Darkness and The Brood. I just hope they start off with something meaningful and not against someone like 3MB.

I'd really like to see The Family work toward the tag titles. Have Bray Wyatt establish the tag team and himself on the mic. He doesn't have to even get in the ring. I would also continue to push Bo Dallas toward the IC title and then work a conversion storyline with Bo Dallas, as he is Bray Wyatt real life brother.

I think the Family will take the Shield's place as they move up the card and start taking main event fueds and titles. I could see this ending with next summer having Bray as the US champ, Harper and Rowan as the Tag champs and Bo Dallas(Wyatt?) as the IC champ.

Planting the seeds is one thing, but allowing them to actually grow year after year and get to and stay at the top is a different story. Vince and Co. have been known to drop the ball on many wrestlers over the years.

On one hand I'm super excited to see The Wyatt Family on the main WWE roster. I have been watching them in NXT and Bray Wyatt and the Family is probably my favorite group of characters I've ever seen in pro wrestling in quite some time.

I loved Gangrel and The Brood and this Bray Wyatt and the Family have the 'eerie' aura about them with still being definitely different enough to be considered fresh. Doesn't hurt that Bray Wyatt is an AMAZING speaker and in-ring performer.

I expect, nay HOPE Bray Wyatt is World Champion one day not too far away. I'll be insanely happy if it happens within the next 2 years but I'll be happy none the less if it happens at all.

That said...

On the other hand... I'm a little WORRIED about their debut during this time in the WWE. Even if they don't debut for a couple months ...

I don't know how they are going to debut strong like they should without seeming too much like The Shield.

In an ideal world I would like Wyatt to be debuted and dominate his way straight to a WWE or World Title. I know that is risky but I have confidence he is a strong enough speaker and wrestler to do so.

I think Bray Wyatt vs John Cena would go over really well or even vs Ryback and having Wyatt win the WWE Title before Ryback or even just after would be huge for everyone and it is EXACTLY the type of fresh storylines and entertainment the WWE Title picture needs.

I know the World Title is being held hostage by captain ziggly pants and they got enough rotating challengers like Del Rio, Sheamus, Orton, Bryan, and probably Big E to keep him busy but the WWE Title picture has VERY little unless they debut Wyatt in dramatic fashion and build him in a logical deserving way.

This wouldn't be the same as the Ryback debut. Wyatt would not knock off nobodies, he should knock off and 'injure' a big guy right off the bat, maybe Great Khali, Sheamus or Big Show. Make a huge statement then keep fighting and beating at least upper mid-card to main event talent. AKA Former Champions.

Then... WWE should announce a WWE Title #1 Contenders match which Wyatt will win. He will go on to face the WWE Champion and win. And just like that a really fresh new character and era will begin in the WWE!

I guess I am worried about the debut because I love the characters so much but I'd rather see the debut sooner than not see it at all.

Solid point, and I won't deny that for a second. My statement was more directed to the disappointment apparent in a few other posts regarding the fact that the Wyatts didn't debut in a more clever manner. WWE's going to drop the ball on a few of these new guys they've recently brought up. Others will just not get over or screw it up for themselves somehow. It's those two or three guys who actually get over that make all the difference. Like I said, WWE just needs to keep calling these guys up, slowly but steadily. Of course not all of them are going to work out, but if they're able to get a breakout star or two or three, then they'll secure their future from a business perspective, and we'll start to see the light at the end of the John Cena tunnel.

I love the "Family" cult thing they have going on....kinda reminds me of the movie Wrong Turn (Anyone else??) but is it even the right time for them?? They're trying to bulid up too many people as it is.. Fandango, Big E, The Shield, Ryback. Ziggler isnt going to lose the WHC anytime soon after the year and a half long wait for him. The IC title is currently between Fandango (Currently being bulit up) Barrett (Everyone complains about him being squashed as it is) and The Miz (Who just came back and is being built up) the US title ...Ambrose...nuff said. Tag?? Shields gonna have it forever...What is there really to do right now??? Squash the JOB SQUAD 3MB week after week?? I love them...just not yet..

The main concern with The Wyatt Family seems to be that Vince will drop the ball. I don't think that this needs to be a concern. I read a report that Triple H wasn't going to promote any NXT talent until Creative had a long term plan for them that Hunter was satisfied with. This says to me that, when it comes to NXT talent, Triple H is very much in control of their Creative. Look at The Shield, there booking is not "Vince McMahon" booking. It's the opposite, they've been booked as a dominant force more like Evolution than Nexus. And it's a know fact that Triple H is behind them.

So I have no concerns about how the Wyatt Family will be booked. Worse case scenario is that they copy and paste their NXT booking onto Raw.

The vignette was creepy awesome and not exactly what I'd call "PG". I can only assume that this was another Triple H directive.

Like the guy or not, the fact remains that Hunter is in control of the best WWE produced show in NXT. And if he can do even a fraction with Raw that he's done with NXT, then I can't wait for him to be in charge.

All of my wrestling dreams will have come true, if the Wyatt Family initiates the inevitable breakup of team Hell No. Daniel Bryan needs an arch nemesis, and I think that Bray Wyatt can week by week send him over the edge. This hypothetical feud is oozing with potential. And what should Kane do??? RUN!!!

I haven't always managed to catch episodes of NXT but the Wyatts, especially Bray, have been definite stand outs. Bray Wyatt's heel persona is something like a "swamp preacher" that has a very different vibe than any other heel in wrestling right now. He's progressed so far since his days as Husky Harris that it's hard to imagine that they're the same guy. I've read that his character is based on the portrayal of Max Cady by Robert DeNiro in the Cape Fear remake back in the early 90s. I watched that movie again over the weekend and there's a definite similarity in them, especially when Cady goes off into a ranting & passionate tirade like Wyatt does.

When it comes to the Wyatt family as a whole, especially when it comes to Harper & Rowan, I don't get the "good ol' boy" hillbilly vibe. It's a lot darker, more sinister than just the good ol' boy or beer guzzling redneck. More like something out of Deliverance, just, hopefully, without the sodomy.

My only concern is regarding Harper and the redbeard. What'll happen to them in the long run? Now, while Evolution and the Four Horsemen were cool, let's skip back just a few chapters ago.

SES benefitted Punk, but only him. Nexus/Corre under Barrett was the same thing, a lot of the lackeys (Bray included) were kickin' it in developmental limbo.

The shield's different, they got a monster push and they're about equal in importance. These two "sons" of Wyatt are clearly his lackeys, but I hope they get some protection too.

The way to make them stand out from The Shield is to actively have them recruit new members. Have them come in and say that people will come around to their way of thinking. Have them say that one superstar already has but not name them. They face a range of people and they go eventually with the Lex Luger/Tatanka style turn where one of the faces "joins the family".

Personally I think Christian will be the right guy to do it, his "Captain Charisma" gimmick had kinda reached his course and he has experience of being in a "dark" group from his Brood days. He's also someone who could enhance Bray's image as a "cult leader". Daniel Bryan could also be very good in that role, although it then points to Brothers Of Destruction vs The Family which may not be the right way to go unless Taker is gonna job the streak to Bray...

So excited. That vignette already has me pumped for this character to come to Raw. He hasn't even arrived yet and he's already in my Top 10.

I'm just glad to see they're doing something with the family. It's a perfect group that can go around with Bray taunting people and then have his brothers pick them off. 6-9 months from now they can go after the tag titles as the Shield moves up the ladder. Bray Wyatt doesn't need to go after any belt for a long time as long as they set him up in consistent feuds where he can taunt his opponent and mess with their minds.

My only concern is how will children react to the characters. Vince loves creating for the kiddies and I could see this family legitimately scaring them.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with them. They can't really pursue the tag team titles, since the Wyatt family will obviously be heels and the very heel Shield is currently in possession of those belts. While they might get involved in that situation eventually, they need a real feud to start with. Depending on how high they want to push this group at the beginning, they will probably throw them at a random assemblage of faces. If they want to go to the moon, they'll start with Orton and Sheamus, but could have a more moderate start with guys like Kofi Kingston and the Miz, neither of whom have much of anything going on right now. With the Shield running rampant on the higher echelons of things, it leaves me to wonder how the Wyatt family can find their place, and I imagine it will be through a long introduction phase of promos and matches that don't mean a whole heck of a lot for several months until something materializes. They could also induct a new member if they're into that, and going bigger than three will help set them apart from the Shield. That could be their path to the main event, as there's an outside shot that someone like Ryback or Orton could be drawn into their group.

Personally I hope to see these guys step directly into the Tag team department and stay their and dominated like the Demolition of old. Any 2 of the 3 can fight for the titles when that time comes.

To start I think they should slam the USOS ( since everyone else has ) The move around the division. The down side it the hillbilly thing won't last long as they will become favorites quickly if if the WWE doesn't want it. Have you seen the wwe fans....Yeah hillbillies fill stadiums.

I am of the belief that the Brodus Clay vignettes and delayed debut was all part of the plan. I'll admit I popped when de debuted. I thought it was hilarious and they can always have the monster heel turn because he is tired of being treated like a joke.

Everyone used to have awesome vignettes to debut them, I haven't seen one that well produced in a long time. The Jericho "End of the World" ones were good but I cannot think of another unless we go back years.

I have been a fan of the Wyatt family since there debut in NXT and I can't wait to see them debut on Raw. WWE have never really had a stable like the Wyatt Family before and if done right could be one of the best Stables WWE have had in years. Bray has done a fatastic job as the cult leader so far and is them main reason I watch NXT every week. The added bonus with somebody like Wyatt is that you don't have to put a title on him to get him over with the fans as his character and ring presence are so good. Harper and Rowan on the other hand are going to need a bit of a push and a run as tag champs and I imagine the tag division is where a lot of the focus is going to be aimed at when they make there debut. With teams like the Shield and Team Hell No improving the division no end as of late, Adding the Wyatt Family to the mix could really get people talking about the division again and with Guys like the Prime time Players and The Usos to feed to the family I don't think it will take long for the to establish themselves on the roster. Also I can see Wyatt wanting to add to the family at somepoint and with the current team Hell No storyline I could easily see either Bryan or Kane joining the group.

This group looks intriguing as hell. They really are something unique and need to be handled well. It's an interesting time, though. There are actually an abundance of heel stables/factions.

The Shield, Dolph E AJ, 3MB, The Heyman guys (not exactly a stable, but are all connected in storyline).

And there's really one face stable/faction, and that's Tons of Funk.

Way I see it, they'll feud with random combos of lower card face tag teams and mid-card faces, unless the creation of an actual face stable/crew is formed.

It would be really awesome to see them feud with a believable and over face crew.

I haven't posted on here in a long time but this is a post I wanted to do so with. 1st off people need to ease up on this whole "PG" thing. Honestly who cares? Only different I see in "attitude" and "PG" is less sex and blood. What is different? Main Event is still a group of about 5 guys. One being the champ all the time. Cena now, Orton, Punk now, SCSA, Rock, HHH then. Leave it alone. Oh it's more comedy? Who cares. Now onto Bray Wyatt and company. I came across em last year and have loved the whole gimmick. Rotunda was made for this character. Look, voice, in ring work, storytelling/promo skills. It's perfect. People need to let it play out. I feel they will do fine with this group. Personal opinion, I don't think they should have a title for a long time. Let them just be a group who's intent is to purely cause chaos. Why are we talking about titles? Who cares about the titles. I would love to see this but just a sick group based on "cleansing" the world. That is all. Yes, down the line I'd love Bray to be world champ but that purely based on the fact I think so much can be done with a title in a cult-like group such as this. It will be different. Really this has a chance to be a group not seen since "The Ministry of Darkness" before the corp. Let it play out and let the story be told. Try to be a wrestling fan again and not a mark who "thinks" and "wants" everything done a certain way. I feel with HHH having more of a say in the company he will let this be something special. Enjoy it. Don't worry about mid-card, main-event and whatever else keeps you tossing around at night, just enjoy.
