WWE TLC 2015: WWE Intercontinental Championship- Dean Ambrose VS Kevin Owens (c)

That N Word

This past Thursday on SmackDown, Ambrose defeated Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler in a 3-Way to earn this opportunity.

Who goes over?

God, I really, really hope it's not Ambrose. You see, the problem I have with Ambrose is....his in ring ability. He's good on the mic, I like his unhinged character, I just don't find any of his matches that good. Maybe if they gave these guys a solid 40 minute window at TLC Ambrose could possibly shine in a longer match with Kevin Owens. But you know they won't get anywhere near that amount of time and MAYBE get 15-20 minutes to tell a story in the ring. That's pretty sad, Flair would still be warming up with that time back in the day.

I was really hoping they'd extend this feud past Survivor Series, The 2 looked like they could have some good chemistry on back/forth promos. I sort of want Owens to retain because it's building his character more than Ambrose, who doesn't really befit a title with his character's gimmick, while I feel it's almost essential for Owens to have a prop to run his mouth with.

Both of these guys are better off being in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship TLC match than having their own separate match on the card, honestly. Does Reigns/Sheamus really appeal to anybody? Be honest. It doesn't appeal to me. At least having two talented guys in the match would increase interest in the match, which is why they threw Rollins in the Cena and Lesnar match. Nobody wanted to see just Cena and Lesnar. And I can't think of anybody that wants to see Ambrose and Owens have a separate match instead of them being thrown in the TLC match.

I would want Kevin Owens go over Dean Ambrose but not cleanly so that their feud culminates at Royal Rumble with Ambrose finally winning the Intercontinental Championship and Kevin Owens moving to main event...

I'll harp on an Owens/Zayn Wrestlemania match for the Intercontinental Title until I'm wrong.

That being said, Ambrose/Owens II could be good. Their Survivor Series match was solid. Not great. Not terrible. It got the job done. I think Owens evens the score at TLC. Maybe we get a rematch at the Rumble, but afterward, I see Zayn chasing Owens into Mania, Owens eventually dropping the belt, then going after a face Roman Reigns for the WWE title.

Ambrose is a stepping stone here, and a good one at that. He's a top 5 babyface for Owens to beat up. Let's let him get beat up.

Once again, WWE puts Ambrose in a feud where BOTH guys need the win -- so we know Ambrose will job b/c the Machine won't get behind him.

This will be a good match, given. But again, it just stinks for Ambrose. Last year they had him feud with Bray Wyatt at a time where both guys needed the win, and we know who went over there.

Ambrose is nothing more than the faithful company guy they can plug-in whenever they need him, but they simply have no concern for him being a top guy. Hell, he should just get in a tag-team with Cesaro and call themselves The Misused with a gimmick of badasses who don't give a shit b/c they'll never get a push.

Owens goes over. Sorry, Dean. But I'm still a fan.

Ambrose is a bit try hard, he's the phoniest wrestler behind Cena, but he's a credible I.C. challenger. Given a decent amount of time this should be more than solid.

These 2 needs TLC rules, not Reigns/Sheamus, who can't do any good spots with any weapons, but chairs

Well, since Owens has lost to Ambrose in the WWE Championship tournament, I expect he'll retain against Ambrose. I'm of the opinion he should retain against Ambrose as I think the last thing WWE needs right now is to hot potato the IC title with so many strong talents out on the injured list.

This is an opportunity to elevate both men which, again, is something WWE should concentrate on doing and it can be done even if Ambrose walks out of TLC without the title. Owens is a credible heel and Ambrose presents a strong challenge for him, but I'm of the opinion that Owens should retain and will retain. Ambrose is pretty well established and, truth be told, they could move him into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture at anytime and fans would be behind it; Owens needs a longer and stronger run for his title reign to help establish him.

I'd say Owens win. Ambrose got a clean win over Owens at Survivor Series. Owens get the win at TLC. Maybe Ambrose wins the title at RR.
