WWE Smackdown Star In Line For a Major Push

It's being reported that WWE Smackdown star Kane is expected to receive a huge push in the coming weeks. One source within WWE says Vince McMahon was extremely pleased with his promo on Smackdown and the reaction he received. Although there were rumors regarding Kane’s disinterest in winning the world title, apparently those rumors were false and Kane himself denied the claims.

Being the Kane fan that I am since his debut this is the greatest report I could get! What do you guys think of it?

I don't particularly care for Kane getting a world title or not, I think he's a decent talent, but he has never struck me as a true main eventer, he has always been more of the mid-card / upper mid-card guy for me.

But in the end, I guess it could be fine seeing Kane do something in the main event scene, while he's an old guy, he's most likely not having many years remaining in the business, I think it could still be somewhat of a fresh breath of air in WWE's main event scene.

Let's see where it brings him, WWE has been known to want to push guys hugely before and ultimately changing their minds, could happen with Kane as well.

I guess it's logical if Swagger retains his title they will have to come up with a new challenger and it might be Kane.

But it would only work if Kane was treated as a huge treat to Swagger's championship, so they have to push him hard, they should make him come out after Swagger's match at Fatal 4 Way and just go crazy, beat him up and the other three competitors, he must show he is "the real deal".

That would be the way I would push him, Kane could even say that he believes it was Swagger who attacked Undertaker, which by the way I'm certain it was Kane (kayfabe, of course). I think it can work very well for him, and I hope that Swagger can retain his title for a few more months, more two or three months would him a lot of good, he now has a two months reign, he should have a 4-5 months reign.

I think they should use Kane to fill the void that the undertaker has left in the WWE, he is a hard worker and can elevate anyone including Jack Swagger.

as stated above Kane is more an upper midcarder then a main eventer like taker, but if you look in the 90's before takers rise to prominance he was used as an upper midcarder also, pretty much similar to what Kane has been doing since, after a few reigns as world champion taker really took shape, sometimes putting the title on someone can help elevate them and im sure the world title can do that, and if not at least Kane could do is have a decent run with the belt.

While it's nice to see that report, I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. There's been so many times over the years that I've believed Kane was going to get a huge push only to be disappointed. Normally it tends to start really well with loads of potential only for Creative to bugger it up in some way. Nevertheless, if it's true and Kane is about to receive a significant push, then all I can say is that it's about damn time!

Kane would be a fresh addition to any main event scene as it's been so long since he's been there but I think his promo on the past episode of Smackdown highlights that he has so much more to offer the show, other than just randomly putting people over...

I like Kane he is way better as a heel then he is as a face. If this report is true that I am happy Kane is pretty underrated imo everyone talks about how Jericho puts guy over a lot which I am not going to argue. But Kane does it he might not be able to recover from it somtimes but he still puts people.

I am just going to wait and see where he goes from here and hope he does get at least one more title run.

YAY I'm so happy for Kane, the man deserves it. Kane has never been a main-eventer, always a upper mid-carder, but his unique gimmick allowed him to enter the main event at any time and no one would question it. I hope creative gives him a good storyline to work with and the not the crap he's been getting for the past 4 years, they need to bring his inner monster out again and make him look like a threat. It would be awesome if he won the world title from swagger, that would be a huge 'OMG' moment

I really hope this is a big push for kane, I wanna see more of the kane from like 2003 right after he unmasked, that was one of kanes best career moments, the destruction he went on feeling everyone was laughing at him, it was epic. He should do that again but use the undertakers state as his reason for destruction

Yeah, it's definitely good news. We know Kane deserves it after all the time and effort he has put in over the years, and he appears to be just another loyal employee who is rarely rewarded, similarly to Matt Hardy (this isn't suggesting Hardy should be in the World title picture, just a comparison).

Aside from the fact Kane is loyal, it will be, as many have said previously, a breath of fresh air in the division, while SmackDown is obviously much less crowded than RAW, I always enjoy seeing either first-time champions (Swagger) or in this case, a champion we haven't see in years in Kane. Good for him, he should be rewarded, and good for creative for pushing a genuinely interesting (as I feel Kane always has been) monster to the main-event!

I think it is about damn time that Kane gets something out of his run in the WWE.

Since the mask came off, Kane has been overlooked constantly when it came to pushing someone into the main event and at the Championship. This, I feel, was a mistake. I have always thought that Kane is one of the best and consistently good superstars on any roster. He is decent on the mic and his ring work is decent too, perhaps not the best in the company but certainly good enough to be competitive. The fact of the matter is that Kane has had one Heavyweight Championship reign and that is not nearly enough, for me.

The angle that he is currently embroiled in has given him such a resurgence in his promo skills and the way that the fans look at him. The pop he received when he was entering Smackdown last week was utterly incredible and really did take me by surprise. After that surprise, I was met by an even bigger one... His promo. Seriously, that was one of the best since Batista cast off his shackles before Wrestlemania and to say I was proud of him for finally getting it right would be an understatement.

That being said, I am really looking forward to seeing what WWE have in store for him. I am of the opinion that he deserves this push and I look forward to seeing if he can run with it because I think he could carry Smackdown for a while.

Did anyone else see RAW last night? It was Kane vs Sheamus (a match I've personally always wanted to see) and Kane ended up hitting a chokeslam on Sheamus and Sheamus rolled out of the ring walked away and got counted out. I see Kane's push looming here.

Yeah I heard about this, and can anyone say it's about damn time. It might be too late though. Kane's character is so weak now from jobbing to so many wrestlers and he doesn't have that killer instinct anymore.

I'm happy Kane is getting a push. He might not be the monster he was before, but Kane can still be demented when the creative staff aren't lazy. Kane does deserve a World Title reign before he retires. The ECW title shouldn't count, because it was at the Intercontinental Title/United States Title status in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I doubt this so-called "push" will lead to much for Kane. When you compare a younger talent's push to a veteran's push... they are usually 2 completely different things. The best I can see coming from this "push" is that he won't job as often, which really means nothing. At 43 years old, he is still a great wrestler and can still put on great matches most of the time. He won't be winning titles, so it won't be a proper push. And if this push results in him being revealed as The Undertaker's attack, I will be totally pissed off. I'm sick of these type of storylines and I hope WWE will be more creative and give him a better push than what we're used to seeing... no push at all.

As a HUGE kane fan i think the news is awsome. as many of yous have said, its about time he got a push. but as much as i hate to say it, i dont think it will last long.

If he does get the world title, it could make for a good story line when taker returns. i know they've had quite a few feuds over the years, but with the world title involved it could be alot more interesting.

As far as kane trying to find the person who took taker out, i have a feeling that sometime down the track he'll turn around and say it was him. could possible happen after he gets the title (thats if he gets it) or when taker returns.

but i reckon its great and i cant wait to see what happens.

YES,
& Let him have it for awhile
Do you ppl realize that kane is actually pretty good on the Mic
He just needs to hit the gym & loose some pounds,
Build up some muscle
It'll be picture perfect
while not really "picture perfect" because it's Kane,
lolz
you know what i mean

I'm just enjoying his vignettes. Quality stuff. He doesn't need a run at the belt, he just needed something to do, and now he has it. When the Taker comes back, that will be big for Kane as well. I'm interested to see what will happen next.

I was going to start a new thread on the subject of Kane, but I'm glad this thread already exists. I'm actually loving what WWE are doing with the Kane character right now. It's as if a new lease of life has been granted to Kane and after years of looking like nothing more than a stepping stone for up and coming stars, Kane is looking dominant, imposing and intimidating again and he's looking like he could credibly beat anyone in WWE right now. He's cut some awesome promos, he still gets cheered even if he chokeslams Smackdown's top faces and frankly, Kane is interesting again for the first time since being "unmasked".
