Onward Christian soldier

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – One week after losing the World Heavyweight Championship in a hard-fought battle against Randy Orton, Christian aligned himself with the new champion to overcome Mark Henry and Sheamus. However, while the SmackDown elite momentarily shared the cup of glory, anticipation over their epic rematch at WWE Over the Limit was already building to a fever pitch.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton & Christian def. Sheamus & Mark Henry
On the same night that the World Heavyweight Championship rematch between Randy Orton and Christian at WWE Over the Limit was announced, the two Superstars found themselves working together in an explosive tag team main event. And as The Viper delivered a devastating RKO to Mark Henry, Captain Charisma hit the Killswitch on Sheamus for the victory.

Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett challenged Ezekiel Jackson to a match at WWE Over the Limit
After The Corre’s massive assault on Ezekiel Jackson for the second week in a row, Wade Barrett poked his stick at the self-professed "The Personification of Domination" with an Intercontinental Title challenge.

Cody Rhodes def. Ted DiBiase
Carrying the burden of his deep emotional scars, Cody Rhodes urged the WWE Universe – and even his former Legacy ally Ted DiBiase – to hide their faces with paper bags. Despite an ultra-competitive effort by the priceless Superstar, his bitter opponent ultimately reigned supreme with the Cross Rhodes.

Jinder Mahal slapped The Great Khali
Newcomer Jinder Mahal interrupted "The Khali Kiss Cam," stunning the WWE Universe by slapping The Punjabi Nightmare twice before walking away.

Kane def. Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett by Disqualification
Just when it looked as if Kane had overcome distractions by The Corre and was set to chokeslam Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater attacked. After giving The Big Red Monster the win by disqualification, his adversaries used their overwhelming numbers to take him down. Moments later – one week after getting forcefully "excommunicated" from The Corre – Ezekiel Jackson exploded to the ring, delivering a major onslaught on his former allies before once again succumbing to their 3-on-1 assault. The punishment he endured culminated with Gabriel's 450 Splash.

Michael Cole fed an injured Layla to Kharma
Layla informed the WWE Universe that during her match with Michelle McCool at Extreme Rules, she sustained a serious knee injury. Following Michael Cole's interruption – which he used to talk about his rematch with Jerry Lawler at WWE Over the Limit – the mesmerizing Kharma emerged. Cole proceeded to trip Layla, allowing the monstrous anti-Diva to drive her to the canvas with absolute force. When Kharma focused her attention to the cocky announcer-turned-competitor, however, Cole quickly scrambled back to the safety of his glass fortress.

Sin Cara def. Daniel Bryan
Before Sin Cara's match with Daniel Bryan could begin, Chavo Guerrero took it upon himself to introduce the newly-drafted masked Superstar as "following in his footsteps." Joining the SmackDown announce team, he repeatedly referred to himself Sin Cara's "mentor." But, after the high-flyer realized that his win over Bryan came – at least in part – because of a Guerrero distraction, a frustrated Sin Cara confronted the self-proclaimed "Mexican Warrior." After Guerrero stuck his finger in his chest, the explosive grappler shoved him to the canvas.

Christian geared up to face World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton
One week after his career-long dream of being the World Heavyweight Champion was destroyed by a sudden title match with Randy Orton, Christian emerged. He stated to the WWE Universe that he respected GM Theodore Long's decision to make their World Title Match, congratulated WWE's Apex Predator on winning the title and made it clear that that their rematch at WWE Over the Limit will have a completely different outcome. When Sheamus and Mark Henry both emerged and attacked Captain Charisma, Orton entered to even the odds, later stating that he wanted to face a 100 percent Christian at the fateful pay-per-view in nine days.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Christian

If there's anyone who deserves a rematch in WWE, it's Christian. After a 17-year career, Captain Charisma finally achieved a lifelong dream by winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules. But, that dream would soon become a nightmare. In an stunning decision made by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long – and the WWE Universe – Christian found himself defending his title against Randy Orton just days after Extreme Rules. And with one well-timed RKO, The Viper wrested the title from Christian. Although visibly shaken by the loss, Christian quickly rebounded. The following week on SmackDown, Christian was already full of confidence, declaring he could beat Orton when he’s at 100 percent. Then on that same night, in an unlikely tag team bout, he teamed with Orton against Sheamus & Mark Henry. With the Killswitch, Christian gained victory – and perhaps the momentum he needs to beat Orton at WWE Over the Limit. Can Christian find a way to recapture what he’s always dreamed about? Or, will WWE’s Apex Predator prove once again why he is an eight-time World Champion who knows what it takes to win?

Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Announced exclusively on WWE.com, Wade Barrett will put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against his ultra-fierce former Corre ally Ezekiel Jackson at WWE Over the Limit. Wade Barrett is no stranger to dissent among the grapplers he has chosen to surround himself with. After molding the WWE NXT season one Rookies into The Nexus on Monday Night Raw, his destructive creation turned on its leader. Learning from his mistakes, the English Superstar then helped to create The Corre on SmackDown – an elite faction made up of himself, Jackson, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater - set up with the understanding that all of its members would be completely equal. But, nothing so volatile is meant to last and eventually Jackson grew dissatisfied with the four-Superstar partnership. During the April 15 edition of SmackDown, he asserted his independence by hurling his opponent Kofi Kingston onto his fellow Corre members as they sat ringside. Weeks later, the self-professed "Personification of Domination" again walked away from them following his victory over Big Show. Surrounding Jackson in the locker room, Barrett, Gabriel and Slater launched a major assault on their former comrade, officially "excommunicating" him from their group. When Jackson retaliated the following week, after Barrett's match with Kane, the 3-on-1 odds once again proved too much. In a jubilant mood, the outspoken Intercontinental Champion challenged his ferocious foe to a match at WWE Over the Limit, in which his illustrious title would indeed be up for grabs. Whatever rage Ezekiel Jackson brings with him to the pay-per-view showdown, there is no doubt that Wade Barrett will be wielding an overwhelming numbers advantage of The Corre, a faction he claims "is better than ever." However, when all is said and done, will Jackson show his former collaborator of commotion that the only numbers that count in an Intercontinental Title Match of pure redemption are 1-2-3?

WWE Tag Team Champions Big Show & Kane vs. CM Punk & Mason Ryan

Tackling the formidable challenge of WWE Tag Team Champions Big Show & Kane would seem a fool’s errand. Despite the obvious pitfalls, however, their opponents at WWE Over the Limit, CM Punk & Mason Ryan, are hardly dupes. On the contrary, The Second City Savior, a man so sinister he was inducted into the inaugural class of WWE.com’s Hall of Infamy, has proven himself as wily a Superstar as has ever inhabited WWE. Paired with the chainsaw temper and menacing muscle of Ryan, the New Nexus leader and his disciple have ample opportunity to seize their first-ever WWE Tag Team Titles. Easier said than done. To capture the championships, Punk & Ryan must first pull off the in-ring equivalent of snatching raw salmon from the jaws of two hungry grizzlies. Since combining their sizable strengths, The Big Red Monster & The World’s Largest Athlete have dominated the rosters of both SmackDown (where Kane reigns), and Raw (which recently drafted Big Show). In the weeks leading up to their showdown in Seattle, the four have been entangled in an ever escalating war, each eager to punish the other. Will the towering terrors continue to cast a shadow over the WWE landscape? Or will the New Nexus duo manage to take out the lofty leviathans at the knees?

To find out, order WWE Over the Limit, May 22 at 8/7 CT, live on pay-per-view.

They might show video packages before commercial breaks. I know if they don't do anything tonight then they will Monday.
