WWE Royal Rumble 1/26/14 LD

This is one of those times that you just want to punch Vince\HHH in the face for fucking up an otherwise great show.

Unless Bryan reinjured his head during his match, not having him even be involved in the Rumble when he is the most over guy on the roster was a mistake. That extremely glaring omission took away from what was an otherwise solid Rumble.

Do people honestly think they don't have a plan for Bryan? He has been at the forefront of the WWE TV for months. And if he does get something perhaps more deserving some cunt is going to say how Vince changed his mind.

Batista is an underwhelming winner but I can live with it.

WWE flipped the fans off twice in one night. Bravo. Shit on them when they hijack the show for Bryan. Shit on them when they get behind Reigns.

Oh and I absolutely loved Cole after Batista won. "Batista's going to Wrestlemania. Deal with it."

WWE created this monster in Daniel Bryan's popularity. If they didn't want to do anything with him, they should've stopped this YES shit months ago. The crowd was as dumb as I've ever seen, but Batista looks like absolute shit and WWE is completely at fault.

At the same time, WWE never advertised Bryan to be in the Rumble match, so if you expected to see him, that's your problem.

Even then all he had to do was run in and throw batista over after he eliminated Reigns. The booking was beyond stupid here :(

The problem is, DB can't get any more over now. He is more over than anyone since Austin at the moment. He's clearly not going to be headlining WM either.

But I'm Ok with Batista vs Lesnar I guess. But DB vs Sheamus? No thanks. Sheamus has always and will be boring.

But tbh, I feel bad for the people left in the ring after Ray came out. They were all doomed.

He was quoting what Batista was mouthing. "I'm going to be champion, deal with it."

This crowd was awful... almost as bad as Batista looked.

I disagree, and respond to your statement by saying WWE's booking decision was awful.

The equivilant of leaving Bryan out of the Rumble altogether is on par if not greater then if in 1998, WWE said, "fuck it we'll have Austin open the Rumble and then nobody will see him for the rest of the night, screw how over he is".

Fans pay their ticket, they can cheer and boo whoever and whatever they like.

I've been saying that WWE has a plan for Bryan since Summerslam. I believed, in my heart, that Bryan was going to win the Royal Rumble. And I got more and more confident of that as we got closer to tonight.

And then, nothing. So even my faith is shaken. I can only imagine how the more cynical and pessimistic people are feeling.

The "s" needs to be taken off of every instance of "smark" in this thread as it relates to Daniel Bryan. Not saying that in a bad or offensive way, just my read on things. I'd like to think that smart individuals would have some perspective.

Say what you want about this crowd, they WANTED to get behind something. The WWE simply didn't give them what they wanted.

Worst Royal Rumble in history. And it's not even close.

Okay...if they couldn't even give us a Daniel Bryan appearance in the Royal Rumble match, they could have at least stood behind Roman Reigns. Did you hear those chants for Reigns at the end? How could the WWE not predict the fans would side with Reigns over Batista? When will WWE realize that they can use moments like that to elevate someone? Instead, we're stuck with Batista for the Wrestlemania main event. Nothing against Batista, but this could have been huge for Reigns. I'm not even saying Reigns needed to win the title at 'Mania, but damn this could have shot him up into Main Event status. Bottom line is that Batista could have put over Reigns here and still made it to a higher spot on the 'Mania card without the rumble. Besides, I thought that was the primary objective of bringing back part-time talent, to put up and coming talent over and help build a solid roster for the future.

Listen to your fans WWE. They demanded Daniel Bryan! Your fans screamed no for the entire ending of the Rumble with the exception of the Roman Reigns cheers.

P.S. Sucked to be Mysterio and run down to a chorus of boos.

Batista looked awful. I was happy to see him return, but that was just beyond horrible. I do think Vince/HHH know what they are doing. They aren't idiots. However, booing Rey Mysterio because he wasn't Daniel Bryan was fucking dumb.

I don't mind Batista and the idea of him winning it initially, but he botched at least three times in that match. There is no way he should be headlining Wrestlemania in that condition.

I wish Batista was still Kanye Batista.

They need to call an audible because Batista vs. Orton is going to be a shitfest.

At least Reigns turned into a star tonight.

Him winning the Rumble and finally winning the big one at Mania would have been perfect. Some sort of perfect blend between Rey and Benoit. Plans change: Batista signs, Bray Wyatt is fucking awesome, Orton is on top of his game.

Could they not do Cena/Bryan vs The Wyatt Family. That would be absolutely fine with me and Bryan could hardly complain, teaming with one of the biggest superstars of all time.

I'm waiting for someone to defend this ending, it might have been obvious by the return on Monday but it's still a horrid decision regardless. This was a worse deflating feeling than Sheamus winning in 2012.

Through all that though, I still loved everything else, the ending just sucked.
