WWE RAW LD 9/4/2012 - Well, Here Comes the Pain...

The Super Fun, Hokey (Yet Hilarious) Hour (or Two)
Question-a-Thon!
Will Brock Lesnar continue on his war path?
Will John Cena look to take down the returning beast?
Will we see CM Punk exact a measure of revenge on Chris Jericho following his numerous assaults?
Will Johnny Ace continue to make his enemies lives a living hell?
Will the glorious team of Funky Cobra's (Santino & Brodus) continue to thrive?
Will we see more twists develop elsewhere?
Will Lord Tensai continue to squash all in sight?
Will we learn more about the upcoming Extreme Rules card?
Oh and...YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Yes.
Yes.
Tried to.

Yes.
No.
No. No. No.

Decent RAW. Crowd was horrible and it took away from everything. They need to stop with these guests unless they're actual celebrities who may attract actual press. Asides from that, enjoyed the Cena/Lesnar opener, I like where they seem to be taking that angle, I loved the Punk/Jericho portion of the show, Hulk Hogan impersonation was pretty entertaining and the final part with Lesnar is what I want to see in a way, but WWE don't need to have him making sneak attacks. He's Brock fuckin' Lesnar, let him destroy people.

to the guy talking about the jimmy johns thing on his shit...

after last promo do you still think that or do you see they are probably going somewhere with it?

If you are trying to say Jimmy Johns on his shirt has anything to do with him siding with John Laurinaitis you are ******ed.

I never really believed Rocky had a legit problem with Cena or of course vice versa. But I really get the feeling that Lesnar hates Cena.

This is a good. This feud is making me stupid and forgetful.

no you fucking idiot, about him saying they mighta been happy about him coming back to the WWE but he's not happy about being here. I'm not gonna read into it, but he's gonna pull the anti rock or cena I think and not play to the crowd and how this isn't about the money. He can go at Cena like Rock doesn't need the money he's a movie star, but you, you got nothing else and yada yada yada you know where I'm going? Cena needs this, and that this is all about the money... That's why i came back and so on.

I don't know perhaps I'm wrong, but I don't think they would just throw that on there.

I really liked this episode of Raw. The start was fantastic. I expected a long, drawn out, boring speech from Cena, where he rises above hate, etc. Didn't get that. He slapped Brock in the mouth, which I loved. I'm not necessarily rooting for Cena, but I always thought Brock was an asshole, so I won't be rooting for him either. I like where this is going, Brock as the douchebag and Cena not knowing what in the hell the problem is.

The Three Stooges nearly ruined it. This was a more serious episode, and they were 100% out of place. The Hogan bit was hilarious, but combine being out of place with this film probably being the biggest piece of shit we'll see this year, and you have a disaster.

Great show.

Opening Cena/Lesnar segment

Sounds worth it.

Punk vs. Mark Henry (Jericho)

Skeptical. What is the cliff notes?

The fat Stooge impersonating Hogan

I didn't think Beefcake would do Hogan like that.

The final segment

Caught the overrun and found myself scared WWE was screwing up another sure thing by involving that raspy guy and making Brock full heel but the opener may save my interest. Maybe I'll check out the Lesnar promo.

Cena showed tonight he's got more heart and a better chin than Lesnar or any of the guys he beat in MMA ever had.

Really glad they went ahead and made Lesnar the heel. Everything about him says prick and despite the big return pop, it's not like Rock coming back. Rock is a likeable guy who has passion for what he does. Brock has used the business, douched the WWE when he left by wrestling a dogshit last match, then acted like an asshole in UFC. He's naturally an asshole so why fight it? Plus, we know he came back because he's sick and this is the place that will pay him because he has value to them. Why hide that?

I wish they would figure this out for Orton. Maybe Punk too. Not sure that Punk is naturally an asshole but he is unnatural when he is playing a straight babyface. I still haven't watched so I can't comment but I don't have much of a problem with Brock being a heel if he is a destructive force heel. If he is a lackey or pawn then I think that is beyond stupid. I don't think they chose not to fight it as much as they didn't want someone else to expose Cena.

Yeah, that's not it at all. I think after the initial "holy crap Brock is back" stuff, you have to see who this person is. He's not Rock who's coming back to entertain the fans. He's Brock who's coming back for the paycheck. I know there will still be some that cheer him, but many wrestling fans know he's a prick and like booing him. You already heard that yesterday at points so it's easy for him to get heat. I'm just glad they didn't give him the unnatural gimmick of being "glad to be back" and "my heart was always with WWE" because it damn sure wasn't. What he's playing is probably close to how he really feels and that is not such a great guy.

That's what makes Lesnar interesting, he's a natural heel, and should play a heel. He beat Cena's brains out when Cena slapped him, so he has the ability to beat anyone straight up. Yet, he made sure to run out of the crowd to kick Cena in the balls from behind, and then was proud of it.

Brock is a douchebag, and I'm hoping Cena whoops his ass. That's the type of thing the WWE has been missing since Triple H circa 2000, a heel that isn't a straight up coward that I want to pay and watch someone kick his ass.

I don't see how that isn't cowardly. If he is a natural heel then why are they trying to build him as one by cheap heat and Laurinatis? I am not saying he isn't just that any argument that is based on most people wanting to boo Lesnar right now is a crock (see: jjyanks). You have a mixed reaction for the two and they are going to try and fit the story into an everyone cheer Cena, everyone boo Brock mold. Seems like a waste this soon to me. The only reason you try and force it that fast is you are scared the will of the people will mess up your plans.

I just clicked through RAW. Wasn't impressed. The opening was a good idea but it seemed to be put together shoddily. Still worked though.

Here are the rest of my notes:

-Did Vickie have a dead crow on her head? Didn't stop to look but it seemed like it.
-Three stooges were terrible, even the Hogan thing didn't really work for me.
-Not a fan of the new Kane mask.
-Jericho is carrying Punk.
-I started in the middle of Tensai's entrance and thought when did WWE get a woman for a Raisha Saeed type gimmick, hmm she is pretty big is that Kong or something, oh my that is Albert. It didn't get much better from there.

The Smarks were going to turn on Lesnar. He's not like the Rock. Lesnar straight up left, and shit on the business while he was gone. Come the time Extreme Rules gets here in Chicago, any face pop would be gone. I'd be willing to bet Cena gets a decent reaction from that crowd and Lesnar gets booed and heckled out of the building.

I really doubt it would have happened that fast without the cheap/lame stuff. I actually still heavily doubt Brock will be booed out of the building unless something drastically changes. First match back and Chicago isn't exactly a big Cena fan. When Brock beats him I think the crowd will like it.
