If the match does go ahead, Alberto Del Rio will cash in his money in the bank contract.
It's interesting to read how many of you feel C.M. Punk will be back next week. If he is, it makes me think that the seemingly "legitimate" feelings we thought Punk was expressing during his program were totally kayfabe. At the very least, I thought he intended to use his contract expiration as an excuse to take a few months off. Obviously, that goes out the window if he's back next Monday.
Last night's tournament disappointed me, in that I didn't want
any of those guys to become the new champion. Did anyone seriously think Kofi or Riley had a chance? As it is, the two guys in the final match leave me cold. We've already had a recent title reign by Miz, and I was thrilled when it ended.
As for Rey, I think the company has indulged this guy far too long, having him defeat huge opponents (I still remember Drew McIntyre clotheslining Rey....and having to do it from his
knees to make it look real). I believe having Rey beat these big guys strains credibility and makes the product look more make-believe than we already know it is. As a cartoon character, he's fine.....but not as world champion.
So I'm going with some of the others in this topic; I don't think either Miz or Rey will become champion. I don't know if Punk is involved, or if Del Rio will be cashing in his MITB.
But something is up and we won't know what it is until next week. The element of surprise is one of the things I love about watching WWE. I certainly never expected Cena's job to be saved by Vince McMahon being relieved of his position, so I presume something equally unexpected is in store for us next Monday.
