WWE Capitol Punishment - The Miz vs. Alex Riley

The match I am looking forward to more than any other on the card. Riley has gotten so over for beating up the Miz. Riley needs the win here to keep his momentum and sudden rise continuining. If Miz wins though he would get major heel heat for it. That's great but the fans hate him and he will have countless opportunities to generate heel heat. Riley's time is coming if he wins this match because it determines where his career will go from here. WWE, do the right thing and push Riley to win this match!

This is an extremely important match for Alex Riley obviously, being a real make it or break it kind of deal by having his first big singles match with a guy like The Miz. I could see this match surprising me with it's quality, but at the same time I can't say I'm expecting a ****+ classic either. Still, it's been a very intriguing program for the WWE and I do think people are actually interested enough in Riley to want to pay to see this match. I see Miz winning the actual match, but probably using underhanded tactics in order to retain some of Riley's newfound heat.

It's put up or shut up time for Riley here.

After getting great rubs by Austin and Roddy Piper alike, Riley has really been elevated to look superior to Miz throughout this feud thusfar. He's gotten the better of Miz in the 4 weeks since they began feuding, with only the GM reversing a decision making it utterly decisive. But Riley needs to show he can hang in his first PPV match as a single's wrestler. He's not Miz' lackey who distracts opponents and eats finishers anymore, he has to deliver, and as a babyface at that. This should be a good old fashioned brawl, and I don't think we'll get a decisive winner just yet. We'll get the house show-ish type of finish where Miz will draw more heat by hitting Riley with his briefcase, or a big move on the outside leads to a Double Countout. Either way, I don't expect a 1-2-3 in this match, as this feud still has legs. Ill go with the DQ win for Riley with Miz pummeling him after.

LSN's prediction: Alex Riley defeats the Miz by Disqualification

Riley should beat Miz. I would book the match similar to the way the 123 Kid beat Razor Ramon back in the day. Have Riley get the upset pin out of nowhere then run through the crowd celebrating with the fans while Miz bitches and moans in shock in the ring.

Riley has momentum right now. Something that's very very hard and rare to come by in wrestling. You gotta strike while the moment is in front of you. They have potentially captured lightning in a bottle with Riley and should push him as much as they can.

Also, this feuds needs to continue. The best way to do that is for Riley to win. I know most will say the exact opposite but they're wrong. If Miz wins, he has nothing left to prove against his former protege. He can just move on to bigger and better things and Riley is left with nothing to do. If Miz, a heel, wins on the first try, why would he agree to give Riley another chance? Doesnt make much sense. But if Riley gets the upset win, then Miz can then say that the kid just got lucky and thus you have a clear path to several rematches.

Unfortunatley, wwe rarely does the smart thing, and so theyll probably just have Miz cheat to win. Which is the obvious, predictable, bland way to go.
