Undertaker for Champ!
I somewhat always sort of favored the mid card over the main event. Over the past 2 or 3 years, the mid card has really declined since the days that I started to watch wrestling in 2003. I really like what WWE is doing now with the mid card championships. It's a big step from previous years.
For the first time in, I don't know how long, the Intercontinental Championship has actually been defended in consecutive ppvs. With the title already being defended at Judgment Day and Extreme Rules... that's already two ppvs in a row with the Intercontinental Championship being defended. And with it being very likely that it will be defended at The Bash and it being mandatory to be defended at Night of Champions... that's four! That's twice as many times that the IC Title was defended at ppvs in 2008.
I like the fact that the Intercontinental Championship is being defended a lot more often, but I can't say the same for the competitors. I'm a huge fan of Rey Mysterio and I love the concept of seeing him as champion. Jericho as a champion (any champion, for that matter) is no new concept. We've never seen a Jericho/Mysterio fued in the WWE, so WWE is giving us something new. But, I feel that Jericho is above the Intercontinental Championship and shouldn't be anywhere near it. Mysterio, on the other hand, is perfect for the title and will show to be a fighting champion if given the chance. The smart thing would be to end this fued with Mysterio regaining the championship. This way, all the misused Smackdown talent can step up and make the Intercontinental Championship feel as important to win as one of the World Championships.
As for the United States Championship. I love Kofi Kingston and I love him as champion. Even though the title isn't being defended as much, atleast Kofi has challengers who want the title very much. Defeating M.V.P., Matt Hardy, and/or William Regal is a great feat to accomplish. And once Kofi defeats all opponents and there's nothing left to do in the mid card as champion, he can go up to bigger and better things.
