Wrestling - Fact or Fiction

Fiction... Pillman didn't have that IT factor that appealed to endless people. He was great, in my opinion. But I don't think he would have gotten as over as a lot of people try to insist.

If Owen wouldn't have, you know, he would have been World Champ at least once.

Fact. Owen was set to receive the Game gimmick that Triple H ended up with and would have used that to finally capture the WWF Championship.

Fact or fiction, Kane shouldn't have unmasked,

Fact! I think it would have kept a little more mystery around him and his original storyline of him and Taker AND the fire.

Alex Riley will get over and be a near Main Event Star or higher.

Fiction: He is a Miz carbon copy and unless he ditches his current gimmick, he'll be stuck behind Miz's shadow for some time to come.

Fact or Fiction: Desmonde Wolfe would have succeeded more in WWE had his negotiations not fallen through with the failed physical.

LOL... Answer the Fact or Fiction about Alex Riley

Thought I did. Oh well i'll post it again to get this moving along again.

Fiction: He is a Miz carbon copy and unless he ditches his current gimmick, he'll be stuck behind Miz's shadow for some time to come.

Fact or Fiction: DH Smith will never break out of the lower/mid-card.

Fact! I really think he could be good. But I think his blandness might never be corrected.

Tyson Kidd will have a better single's career then DH Smith.

Fact: But not much better. He seems to have more of a personality than DH but his size and style will hurt him. I see him getting a few more mid-card titles than DH, but he won't get much bigger than that, at least for a long time.

Fact or Fiction: Winning the Royal Rumble match alone means more than winning a World/WWE Championship.

Fiction! Sometimes a big named person is chosen on the fly for impact to win the Rumble but overall does nothing but push the opponent. Edge winning The Rumble and losing to Jericho, The Champion, last year is an example.

Wade Barrett will be a huge star, bigger than the Miz.

Fact: He already is despite Miz winning the title before him. He has the look, the mic skills, the charisma, and everything you need to be big, his last year proved he is capable of doing big things consistently.

Fact or Fiction: Wade Barrett will be the only member of the original Nexus and the Corre to become a star in the WWE.

Fiction: Wade Barrett (mega-talented), Otunga (not because I want him to, merely backstage talk), Zeke (a guy that big and strong, he'll fulfill some sort of a role at least) and Gabriel (can easily see him on Smackdown winning IC belts if he perks up the entertainment side of his game) will all have some relative success. Barrett will most likely reach the highest heights though.

Face or Fiction: Cody Rhodes will get onto this year's wrestlemania card as part of his spawning Rey Mysterio saga.

Fact! WWE is pushing it and I don't think Rey will be left out. It has been said that Rey hand picked Rhodes as an opponent.

Skip Sheffield will be a break out star in 2011.

Fiction. He may break out, but he won't be the 'break out star'. I see big things for Mason Ryan as he fits the template that Vince loves in his wrestlers.

Fact or Fiction?

Dolph Ziggler will be a member of the Raw roster after the 2011 draft.

Fact! He seems to fit RAW for me. I think he could really take off if he ends up there.

Sting will never EVER wrestle in WWE.

FACT. After tonight much to my disappointment it looks certain he wont be at mania.
Sting is principled about his career and Vince McMahon wants loyal followers when it comes to being on his show, Wrestlemania. Now i just cant see Stinger debut on Vince's prized show raw or Mani or anything. Hope I'm wrong.

fact or fiction?

Ric Flair is the greatest all around American wrestler of the last 25 years.

Fiction! I understand why people like him so much. But when I think BEST all around, the name that comes in my head first is Kurt Angle.

CM Punk is better all around than AJ Styles.

FACT! He is much better on the mic despite Styles' improvement.

Fact or Fiction: CM Punk would have eclipsed Triple H as a heel had he been around in the Attitude Era.

Fact or Fiction: CM Punk would have eclipsed Triple H as a heel had he been around in the Attitude Era.

Fact because his straight edge gimmick would have been opposite of what was happening around the time.

Fact or Fiction: Edge will retire at Wrestlemania 28.

Triple H was extremely edgy and made his character as brash and in your face as possible. Drugging and marrying the bosses daughter instantly made him the hottest heel at that time bar none. Would CM Punk have it as big as Triple H let alone eclipse him..... I'll have to say no, it was at a time when heels weren't just ego maniacs and self-righteous assholes.

Fact or Fiction:
If it wasn't for Road Dogg, Billy Gunn would have been a jobber during the attitude era?

Damn it, too slow, this is for Rattlesnakes.

You are probably right. Triple H did do some evil things as a heel. But the contrast between a "pure" heel and badass babyfaces would have been interesting to see.

Fiction: WWE was pretty intent on pushing Billy right from the time he entered the WWF. He would have probably been in the same place with a different gimmick.

Fact or Fiction:
Chris Jericho is average as a face.

Fact: Fact, you only have to see his return as Y2J to see that he doesn't have the face mentality to effectively pull it off.

Fact or Fiction: Do you think Stone Cold would still be involved in wrestling in some form if it wasn't for the Owen hart botched Piledriver.
