Why?
Since Bruce Prichard has taken over the reigns in TNA, I have felt that the World Title scene has been fantastic. After Victory Road did anyone foresee the four guys currently in the World Title plot? That my list is missing guys like Kurt, AJ, RVD, Sting or Anderson and I'm enjoying it more than I have in some time is a fantastic indication that they are moving away from the main criticisms of the past (illogical booking, hotshotting storylines etc). Austin Aries has been a shining light of making do with what you've got in elevating the status of the XDivision without facing anyone of real note - here's hoping that Shelley is the beginning off a major push (AJ, Kaz, Daniels, maybe even the new slimmed down Kurt).
Cena and Punk get low places on my RAW 5 and miss out on my top10 not really through any fault of their own but because I just have major problems with their current storylines. Poor John suffers in my eyes because I feel that every storyline that doesn't involve a certain Mr Johnson feels like filler; normally the Kane plot should run right into Mania but we know that the furthest it can run in HitC. Likewise I feel that Punk has been hurt with storylines were his superiors are more important to him than his opponents. On the plus side for RAW, I'm still loving Truth plus both Ziggler and Kane are doing great jobs despite the flaws I've described (I really hope both aren't dropped like bad habits as WM gets closer).
SmackDown suffers from a lack of main eventers, especially with Orton out of the picture. Daniel Bryan has been outstanding in his new role though and Mark Henry is still being treated as a monster so, even though I'm not overly enjoying Show's work at the moment (despite Sam's epic sig), the World Title story is still enjoyable at the moment. Cody continues his solid work with the IC belt and Wade Barrett and Sheamus appear to be getting solid pushes again.
All Time Top10:
1: Sting
2: Rick Steiner
3: Roddy Piper
4: Bobby Eaton
5: Fit Finlay
6: The Dynamite Kid
7: Jushin Liger
8: AJ Styles
9: Arn Anderson
10: Rick Rude
This list is a combination of the guys I used to watch on World of Sport who made it into the US scene and the guys I loved when I started watching WCW and the WWF. TNA is the house that AJ built and, as much as many malign it, I am extremely grateful to have it as an alternative.
