Wrestlezolympics Participants...

You need to get the avatar going Davey!

Ironically enough, I switched back to the Original Avatar I used when I very first joined up. It just happened to also be backing Team Canada.

I did change my location, in support of Team Canada though.

I can already tell we're heading towards Flamesville with the way the matches turned out; why would Team Canada put Benoit in the Iron Man match, and not Bret Hart? Both of them would lose to Kobashi in an Iron Man match, but, at least with Benoit in the submission event, you had a shot at Inoki; anyone that thinks Bret Hart could beat Antonio Inoki in a submission match needs to get their shit checked ASAP.

I'm pulling for Australia/New Zealand, but I won't be biased in my decisions. I'm also leaning towards Mexico and Japan. North America is going down.

All 8 teams are announced with the participants assigned to the first round of matches. I will be announcing the WZO schedule in the coming days, but I expect it will kick off possibly late next week.

The schedule format will be:

5 individual events (ironman, falls count anywhere, submission, MITB, spin the wheel)
1 team event (survivor series)
5 individual events (TBA)
Final team event (royal rumble)
Medal presentation

How would the five individual events work? Let's say it's Team Canada vs. Team Samoa in the first round. If Team Canada wins the majority of the events they would advance to the second round. Is it like that?

Good question.

For the Ironman match, the seeding is random, so let's say USA draws Samoa. That means in round one, Shawn Michaels faces The Rock in a 30-minute Ironman match. They may face the winner of, say, Canada and Mexico, so the winner of Michaels / Rock would get the winner of Benoit / Santo. 2nd round is 45 minutes, gold medal round is 60.

For the Submission tournament, it's the same idea, but all submission matches.

For Falls Count Anywhere and MITB, the action occurs simultaneously, so people will post who they feel should win amongst the 8.

Finally is the Spin the Wheel, in which a new stipulation will be announced each match.

For the Survivor Series, the teams will be seeded, again at random.

Does that help?

I will post specific event rules in the next few days or so. I will also announce the 2nd round of matches and the rules for subbing out starters.

Samoa is a dark horse for some medals. Rock certainly has a shot at least at Silver in the Ironman, and Samoa Joe is certainly in the running for at least a Bronze in the submission matches. It'll be interesting to see.

Freshly posted are the events for the 2nd round of the tournament and what matches will be potential choices for "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal."
