Wrestlers You Liked That No One Else Cared About

Heidenreich
The Brian Kendrick
Chris Masters
Eugene
Matt Hardy

Masters and Heidenreich had the look to be world champ just never got there

The Brian Kendrick was placed in some good matches with Jeff Hardy and Triple H before he left I saw him as the next Wwe champ

Last but not least Matt Hardy. His brother WAS bettter but I still saw him feuding with Jeff over the world title one day, but they killed the storyline and Jeff left. Then when Matt came to TNA I thought Jeff vs Matt Tna title match but it never happened.

Chris Masters was the first to come to mind but considering just about everyone has mentioned him I guess he's not the best choice. A guy that I always liked that nobody ever seemed to care about was Lance Cade. He was good in the ring, good on the mic and he had a hell of a tag team with Trevor Murdock. Murkdock was good too but if one man was in charge on that team it was Cade, I thought he had a good look and I enjoyed watching him, it's a damn shame he passed away in august of last year at such a young age. He may be gone but I wont forget him.

I'm going with Aldo Montoya aka Justin Credible. Aldo debuted in either late 1994 or early 1995 as "The Portuguese Man of War." He came in with a lot of energy and I thought he had a lot of potential, especially with the Luchador craze that wound up happening over in WCW, but unfortunately someone made the comment that his mask looked like a jock strap and I think that was the beginning of the end for Aldo. Of course later he showed up in ECW under the monicker of Justin Credible and I think we all know the story from there.

I loved la parka as a kid. Espcially loved that strut and that dance And when he proclaimed himself the chairman. I liked juventud p0ost and pre mask. Liked his ladies man persona. I was also drawn towards silver king and lizmark jr who reminded me of this guy from Saturday night slam masters from my snes. I liked wrath because he was a big guy from my perspective since all I could watch was wcw Saturday night.. liked kenzo suzuki and his geisha girl. Always intrigued by J.T. smith from ecw. Prince iakea. Stevie ray.

Billy Kidman - When he joined the Flock with Raven I loved this guy. To be fair, at the time I was still kinda young and didn't entirely realize that his gimmick was that of a drug addict, with all the itching and dark circles under his eyes, but still I loved the cracked out Kidman, and still enjoyed him when he "cleaned up" and left the flock and started a feud/team with Rey Misterio Jr. that eventually turned into one of my Favorite factions from the '90's/'00's The Filthy Animals (Konnan, Misterio, Kidman, Juvi, Disqo and Tygress)

Runnerup: Rey Misterio Jr. (Unmasked)

SCOTT NORTON without a doubt.....tough physical wrestler that looked like he could beat someone's ass in the ring....i loved watching footage of him and benoit vs jushin thunder liger's team in japan...great match he had some other's too vs luger,goldberg,etc.......not to mention he's one of the top 3 wrestlers to use in a top 3 wrestling video game of all time (WCW REVENGE)...i loved using his shoulder breaker finisher to beat AKI MAN.......ULTIMO DRAGON,GANGREL,2 COLD SCORPIO are a few other..................................CENA SUCKS!!!

Disco Inferno: I was offended a couple of weeks ago when WWE decided to insult Disco in a online column. From his upstaging the Nitro Girls to his taging with Alex Wright and his attempts at joining the NWO - The Disco Inferno was something that a lot of the talent in the WWE have a hard time being - Entertaining!. What also made him good is that he wasn't just a comic foil - and had a successful singles run - something WWE might want to do with Santino instead of allowing one of the last entertaining people they have got fade into the abyss.

My personal one would definitely have to be X-Pac! He gets a lot of crap about X-pac heat and all of that jazz. He is one of the key members of DX and one of first guys in the nWo. He's held multiple titles, and he's very good in the ring. This guy is highly unappreciated. He is constantly disrespected with this "X-Pac heat". I hope one day, he can return to WWE and thrill the crowd, as a babyface with a huge reation!

Oh man I was a huge fan of Mike Knox, Paul Burchill, Snitsky, Chris Masters, and Ricky Ortiz.
Plus, I remember loving Zack Ryder when he first debuted his Long Island gimmick on ECW. I was very impressed with the gimmick, his wrestling style, and his ring attire. I have always been a Ryder fan. Because remember, at one time nobody really knew who he was! I've also been a huge Dolph Ziggler fan since his debut match against Batista. And I was a huge fan of Sheamus since his debut match on ECW.

BA Billy Gunn! He had it all, back in the 90's I always thought he was awesome.
I also always like Jueventud Guerrera as well and always felt alone while watching WCW back in the day while watching the matches with Kidman, Rey and The Juice while everyone else was paying more attention to the main events that usually sucked. I am also another that enjoyed Essa Rios when he debut in WWE with Lita. I thought they were a great couple. I can't believe nobody mention Billy Gunn yet though.

I was also a huge fan of Randy Orton before he got a push and before everyone started liking him, like 6 years ago. Now its actually the opposite, he's too much turning into another John Cena and overdoes everything, especially the RKO, snake and viper stuff.

I also thought chris Masters when he first debut should have been made into a star, loved his gimmick.

JUST FOR THE RECORD: The French Stallion is another guy I REALLY like and he's gonna be a big star! Mark my words. In case you aren't familiar with him, watch some episodes of Lance Storms World Of Hurt. Thought he was one of the best things I seen in a while since I seen him on that show and now he HAS made his WWE debut. Last Night on smackdown. He didn't get a chance to do much, he was the jobber for big show in the handicapp match. the guy with the long hair.

The Brian Kendrick. Towards the end of his WWE run, I feel like his booking just made his whole persona fizzle out. In my opinion, he could have made it big regardless of his size, kinda like Mysterio if they really put the energy into pushing him and didn't draft him.

QUOTE]

I also loved Kendrick gimmick and thought WWE should have kept pushing it even though he copied alot of hbks stuff he still pulled it off well. I was however disapointed when he kept violating the wellness tho

I was always a Billy Kidman fan once he broke away from the flock and became a face. The matches he had with Mysterio Jr and Juventud Guerrera were always amazing. Kidman was my second favorite cruiserweight in WCW next to Mysterio. Even when WCW started to go downhill the Filthy Animals were one of the bright spots for me.

When he came to the WWE I enjoyed his runs as cruiserweight champion and his matches with the likes of X Pac and Jamie Noble. I was never big on him as a heel but for the majority of his career he was a face or at least a tweener.

Al Snow - He was not without fans but I will mention him anyway because I like him enough to put him in my favourite wrestlers of all time list. I really enjoyed his matches and gimmicks...I liked his mix of in ring talent mixed with more than a hint of hardcore.

Headbangers - Not a lot of love for them. I think they got voted worst tag team or most undeserving tag champions, but I always liked them and thought they were a good solid team with good tag team moves.

lots of good choices above but I think I will go with Paul London.

When I think of a wrestler that no one gave a flying shit about, it think of lazy guys. Guys that only relied on their technical ability to get over, and failed in the processed. These types of superstars squandered the chances given to them by the WWE and or other companies, thus failed to make people care about them. When I think of Paul London I see a guy that actually tried to win over the audience by saying 'Hey guys I can do more than gymnastics!". Disagree with me? He wore a mask to the ring, took sick bumps, did hardcore shit, teamed with someone else and tried everything else to get over, like the others he had a lack of success. Just look at the 2005 royal rumble spot, that must have taken guts to do. He had the look of a jobber and was used as one for awhile until Kendrick would attempt to save his career. London & Kendrick really is the equivalent of Air Boom except about 5 years ago. No one cared about him and he went nowhere, sad for someone that was as talented as he was and tried hard for a long time. Sorry Paul next time try more promos.

If I can be serious for a minute...

Lance Storm: He's an Incredible athlete and wrestler, but was never given the respect that he deserved. People underestimated him. He could work a match with anybody and he was pretty good on the mic.

He would talk intelligently, but it would sound funny at the same time.

He would always come off boring and then he'd say things like:

"Nobody enjoys a good joke more than me."

Storm bottom line cracks me up. If you re-watch Storm in the Invasion angle, you'll see what I mean.

Anyway, I think the WWE had something when he was Dancin' Lance. He was getting over with the fans, he was smiling, having fun, and the WWE just dropped it I guess. He could've been something if he was given a chance.

I always loved Juventud Guererra he was so fast and smooth with all of his moves I think that he was a better wrestler than Rey was in WCW. Not to mention X-pac who was one of my favorites when i was growing up and i have no clue why because he wasn't worth a damn thing until he got to TNA and by that time i had realized that he sucked. Finlay and William regal have always been two people that i enjoy as well because they put on so many great matches with each other and both men had their battles with Chris Benoit as well.

Lotta love for all these WCW Cruiserweights, but the mention of A-Train raises a good point, You always hear talk of the Hardys, Dudleys, Outlaws, Acolytes, Edge and Christian, but Trish's pairing of Test and Albert never gets a look-in.

I always loved watching the ex-ECW guys in WWE, and its a shame that so many didn't accomplish very much once they arrived in the 'E.

As most people know on these forums, I have always been a huge Raven fan, and it pisses me off how little people cared about him in his WWE run. The guy was one of the best talkers in the business, a solid worker and should have been at least a mid card worker in the WWE. But it never happened.

Another one is Justin Credible, I loved his attitude in ECW. He had an awesome finsiher in the spinning tombstone (which obviously he coudn't do in WWE), and always impressed me in the ring. He ended up wasted and stuck in X-Factor with X-Pac and Albert and did absolutely nothing in WWE. He could have been a great mid-card heel.

The final pick is Rhyno. Why WWE fans had so little interest in Rhyno is beyond me. The guy was an absolute beast, a powerhouse who could have been used brilliantly as a bodyguard and then gone on to break away from the guy he was protecting and establish himself as a top singles wrestler- ala Kevin (Diesel) Nash. He was not that great on the mic, but I didnt care about that. I loved seeing Rhyno just beat the crap out of people. However, the WWE fans never seemed to take to him.

Another guy I always liked was Haku/Meng. When I'd watch old WWF tapes as a kid he was one of the few heels I actually liked to watch. Then when he showed up in WCW as Meng I was a huge fan. He was a legit bad ass and the Tongan death grip was always one of my favorite finishers. The Faces of Fear were fun to watch and I was a fan of them along with the Steiners and Harlem Heat in the mid 90's WCW tag team division. Even his short lived stint back in the WWE during the early 2000's I liked. His return at the Rumble was a big surprise and I thought they could have done more with the tag team of him and Rikishi.

Agree I always found myself rooting for this other guy with the cool long curly hair that was always losing matches to rey mysterio

I think someone that could have been huge, had he a brain in his head, not committed career suicide and the work ethic to keep with it, was Nailz. Kevin Wacholz, were he about 10 years younger as well, could have made a way better Kane than Glenn Jacobs. Listening to that guy talk was freaky, he sounded like a demon. Hearing that voice come from behind the big red mask would be very unnerving. But he was stupid, assaulted Vince, and had a crap work ethic, so... ohwell.

Even so, just listen to him. Imagine his voice coming from behind the mask of Kane. Geez, it makes me shudder just thinking about it.

Van Hammer was another guy I really liked. Not sure what happened with him though. But he seemed pretty impressive in Raven's Flock.

Test would have been great. I remember, I think it might have been HHH or someone of his stature saying he sees someone like Test having a bright future

i remember watching a tag team that was put together because wcw creative had no ideas for the two guysin it and went on to become one of my fave tag teams but they never seem to get mentioned because one of them died before he had the chance to make his mark in wwe and the other became the biggest star of the attitude era.........the hollywood blondes.

Austin and Pillman were a great heel tag team, cocky as hell but for some reason i dont think they caught on the way they should of. If the team was put together earlier i think they would of held the wcw tag belts more often..........but saying that maybe they wouldnt of ended up in wwf? so maybe it was a good thing

Lots of great choices mentioned in this thread that I would have also picked. I am not sure about the Nailz comment though. The one about him potentially being a way better Kane than Glen. I think Kane was perfect when he first came to WWE from 1997 - 2003, I don't think anybody could have played the character "better". I do wish Nailz had more of a run in the WWE and had his Undertaker feud, that would have been interesting.

I have mentioned my love for Goldust before so I would add him to my list. I also enjoyed a lot of Dennis Knights work as Mideon and as a member of The Godwinns who I also liked. I would not go as far as saying William Regal is not cared about because I am sure he is but I would still like to mention him because I think he is one of the best "wrestlers" the WWE has ever had and I have been a fan since first seeing him during his WCW days.

Let me echo a few of the WCW guys mentioned in here: Ernest Miller, Scott Norton, Wrath and La Parka. All of those guys hold a special place in my heart.

La Parka in particular was always a guy I enjoyed more in WCW than Rey Mysterio or Eddy Guerrero.

My biggest one though is Steve Williams. I know that nowadays it's cool to be a Steve Williams fan and a fan of the puro style, but in the mid to late 1990s, Williams was an afterthought to most American fans. His failed run in the WWF after the brawl for it all and his weird run in WCW at the end of that company both failed to get him big time over. I always thought he should have been the 4th horsemen instead of Mongo McMichael.

I was a big fan of Essa Rios. Unfortunately for him, his in-ring skills weren't acknowledged during the attitude era, where personality and charisma were first and foremost. He was a great performer and usually worked Sunday Night Heat, WWE's secondary show at the time (usually for mid-card talent.)

I would still love to see a Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight division in the WWE. There were so many great matches in WCW with the lighter weight guys, Vince tried to replicate that in the WWE...but it just didn't get over. I think they could make it work with the product they have now.
