Wrestlers who switch shows (between TNA & WWE)

#hamler

That's all folks.
Do you think Wrestlers who switch shows (between TNA & WWE) would have been better on the Previous Show?

Christian-As much as I hate to say it, Christian had way more light shed on him in TNA. Maybe it’s Vince’s way of saying fuck you for going to TNA, He’s not been getting much light on WWE besides his ECW reign as champ, which he had no (not much anyways) competition. On TNA he held NWA championship twice with great competition over there. Here’s my proof he was better; look at his wrestling skills. His moveset changed dramatically since he entered TNA. Uses that kick through the ropes, frog splash, diving drop kick, diving spinning reverse elbow and changed that stupid name of his finisher from the unprettier to killswitch. Maybe giving him the World championship would erase this theory…

But, What about some other wrestlers, Kurt Angle, Rhyno, Team 3-D, R-truth, hell Daniel Bryan (etc), do you think they were better on there previous shows? (Meaning better on WWE or TNA)

I feel Rhyno is a great example for this thread. I think he would have been better off if he had stayed in the WWE. I mean, it was only because of an incident with Matt Hardy that he was fired. Yes, He's been NWA Champion in TNA, but at the time of his release, ECW was starting up again in WWE. Had he stayed, He could have been a great edition to it, along with Dreamer, Sandman, RVD, Sabu, and The New Breed, we could have seen some edgy feuds and matches because thats the type of guy that Rhyno is. He would have been better off in the WWE.

I Believe Rhino wanted nothing to do with the WWECW, infact he burnt the origional belt if im not mistaken

Kurt angle if he would have went to Rehab and looked after himself better would be the WWE's Top man right now

Booker T as well, Top star in the WWE, Was nothing in TNA and eventually left.

I think wrestlers generally have a good reason for moving, whether they have burned bridges with the company (I'm sure there are plenty of examples, possibly Angle), can't cope with the heavy schedule (Booker T) or even fired (RVD, K-kwik, Road dogg).

It would be interesting to see what would have happened. Christian for example, I think benefited from the move, he is now being taken far more seriously as a wrestler in wwe and the ecw title was a good thing, as although it was considered a c show, he was trusted with carrying that whole show for, what, 9 months?

R-truth is also being taken more seriously than his previous stint. Sure its not much of an improvement but at least he is actually being put in title matches rather than just jobbing to up and coming stars.

In the same sense, I think Angle benefited from the move to TNA, he started to lose his way a bit in wwe, with new stars being created, him getting slightly stale in wwe, in my opinion, and TNA just gave him fresh feuds with more technical wrestlers allowing him more interesting fights to watch.

This is a perfect thread for me to ask these burning questions I have. I used to be a huge wrestling fan when I was ages 5-16, like a lot of boys. Now I'm 20 and I drifted away from it for years. My two little nephews are crazy for it now and they have made me more interested in it again. I was always wondering the true reasons some of the WWE stars left for TNA. Most notably, Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, Jeff Hardy and any others you guys have a definite answer for. Can someone help me out and give me the scoop on these departures? Thanks.

I think Kurt angle would do great what ever company he is in.
Christian although he got more light in TNA but i think he will eventually get that light in the WWE.

A couple of names come to mind.

1) Jeff Hardy - He was WWE's top star. He was the World Champion. Amazing feuds with HHH, Edge, and CM Punk. I just don't see why he didn't stop with the drug use, go to rehab, and stay with the Dub. Hell, he'd probably still be the World Champ if he didn't go to TNA.

2) Booker T - Like said above, he was one of the Dubs biggest stars. He was also a World Champion. His King Booker gimmick was really cool. I enjoyed it. His matches against Batista and Undertaker were great. He definitely should've stayed with the Dub. Now he's not even in the wrestling business anymore.

3) Bobby Lashley - I know his push in the Dub was a slow one, but he too was one of the biggest stars in the Dub. He was a 2 time US Champion, he had great matches with Batista and King Booker which were great. He shaved Vinces head at Wrestlemania. He also had some pretty good matches with Umaga. His reign as the ECW Champion was a strong one and had some memorable moments in it.

4) Mr. Kennedy - He was said to be WWE's next Stone Cold. I think this one is WWE's fault why he's in TNA now. They didn't use him the right way. Though, he was very injury prone, but they didn't give him enough time to rest up anyways. I don't know how he's doing in TNA now, but I never hear anything of him.

5) Ric Flair - This one just boggles me.

Chris Jericho was fucking hillarious in WCW. Great charisma and great sense of humour. Creative too. Dont care for him much as a heel in WWE. Would like to see Jericho in TNA. Unfortunately, Jericho didnt have great things to say about WCW management in the Monday Night War documentary. Speaking of Bishoff?

Evan Bourne to TNA - He could be one hell of a X-division wrestler.I see no future for him in WWE.

Shelton Benjamin to TNA - He can't Talk. But I think he would be given some TV time in TNA.

Jeff Hardy to WWE- I think he is a WWE guy.Has the look , Charisma and could main-event wrestlemania easily.I think it is a waste of talent for him to stay in TNA.

Rob Terry - He has zero wrestling skill in my opinion but i think he might have a little chance to become someone like Batista.

The one that comes to my mind is The Pope. When he was in WWe as Burke he had a cool thing with the Breed. But then they just stopped.Nothing happened when after they lost the members of the Breed.Burke did nothing and WWE dropped the ball. The he arrives in TNA and they let he be himself. They say go for it, and show us your charisma. The stuff hre doing with Wofle is great and the chick to(forget who she is).The whole Pimping gimmick is great and I love his promo's that he does and how the money fall to, just great.

I think that the E and TNA are 2 completely different entities. Wrestlers can flourish in the E if they have a good look, charisma and can follow orders well so they can be molded into Vince's image for them.

TNA IMO is the place where creative people can florish and although they of course have the same criteria for their stars (with the exception of the latter), they also want something a bit more interesting. The Pope character is a prime example of that. We now see that he's obviously got the talent to make it in this business and I hope the E are kicking themselves for letting a gem like that go.

Christian may never florish in the E because Vince can't stand him in terms of selling power. He doesn't feel that The Captain will be able to main event because of his size. HUH?! This is a no-brainer but Shawn Michaels?! REALLY, VINCE? REALLY?! (I couldn't help myself. I have to throw that in when I can.) CC would get lost in the TNA shuffle, however, with Hogan "taking over" and is better off in the E in the long run to probably help out the mid-card and possibly *crosses fingers* get a push to main event status after a while.

A lot of wrestlers could be stars in either promotion but I think the big factor in how they make it has to with how they are acclamated (sp?) to the business. If they are taught by way of the E (FCW, OVW, etc.), they're better off staying there. They would be lost in TNA. If they're taught by the Indy feds and such, TNA is much better for them. I will always say that Bryan Danielson would've become a much bigger star in TNA than WWE but lets hope I'm wrong. Nigel made the right decision, so did Angle, Mr. Anderson, OJ and so on...
