Wrestlemania 28 is on April Fools Day.... What's the Joke gonna be?

I cant see Vince passing up the opportunity to book some type of a huge prank on the WWE Universe. It'll more than likely be some type of segment as I cant see them pranking us with a match. Say like a First Blood or Bra & Panties Match or something.

No. It must be something via a segment, but I cant think of what. I just know there will be some type of an April Fools prank pulled. They could go cheap and just have a star prank another star in a segment, but I see us being "screwed" in a way on this day. WrestleMania on April Fools just oozes opportunity for The Biggest Prank of All Time on The Biggest Stage of All Time and I'm surprised this hasnt had more buzz.

So what do you guys think may happen revolving around the holiday at WrestleMania? I've been wondering myself ever since they first announced it was on April 1st, even to the point of would they try an April Fools joke with the Rock/Cena match or something involved with it.

What if they used MITB with the holiday theme. I'm not sure how right now, but I just dont see them not pranking us. Maybe the Shaq/Show match could be a prank and be held off for another event and for that night be a segment staredown or something or a Lebron tease by The Miz that he'll be wrestling him only to have a midget come out.

Maybe a DX prank?

I have no idea again, but I just cant see WWE passing up the rare opportunity to do this on April 1st.

I just wanted your thoughts on the whole thing.

MOD NOTE:
Remember guys this is a non-spam section. Do not forget to include reasons behind why you think a prank may take place. Spam posts as well as anything inappropriate will be deleted and dealt with accordingly. Have fun!

Wrestlemania X-7 was on April Fool's Day. If they didn't use the Austin heel turn as a joke, they never will

I would lay money on something happening to JR....quite possibly they announce he's going to call the main event then, just before it starts, they come out to the ring and remove him from the announcers booth...

I really doubt there will be any big pranks pulled, not at a Wrestlemania event. If this was an edition of Raw then I could see Santino getting a WWE Championship shot as a prank or something. He legit wins and then Vince comes out saying it was a prank, nullifying it from ever happening. This isn't Raw though. This is Wrestlemania. They cannot afford the risk of making the fans angry at the biggest show of the year. It would deal a significant amout of damage to their company reputation if they did a big prank that made the fans angry.

They could always swerve everyone after a year-long build by saying the Cena VS Rock match was an April Fool's prank. That would be a mistake though because it would make people so angry that riots would break out. It'd be funny for about 30 seconds and then they'd have 70,000+ angry fans to run from, not to mention the millions around the world who would also be upset. All for an April Fool's prank? Not worth it in the slightest. WWE are smart enough to not do a prank, let alone one that big, on their biggest show of the year.

They might do a random segment or something that contains the prank. Santino will do something random and silly backstage involving the prank in between matches, the people laugh for a few seconds, and then we move on to the next match. That's all I think we will see, if anything, prank related at this show. It's just not worth it to risk the fans getting upset over a prank. That's more like something TNA would do.

As mentioned before, they've had opportunity to do this before, during the attitude era mind you.

I don't think anything will happen and if it does it might be a dark match or something that isn't on live PPV. There's too much money, committment, and risk involved to do something that might potentially upset people.

This made me think of the kind of prank my Dad probably would've done when I was a kid.
On the day of Wrestlemania, drive to another stadium in the same city which had nothing on that day, turn around to me in the back seat and say "Oh dear, I guess Wrestlemania is cancelled, I suppose we'd better go home".

But yeah backstage segments are where the comedy belongs at Wrestlemania. I suppose if they wanted to kill fifteen minutes they could have someone who isn't on the card complain that they deserved a match (Jack Swagger for example).
Teddy Long or Johnny Ace or Triple H or whoever is in charge says 'Yeah, you have a mystery opponent tonight, go out to the ring and meet them'.
Cue Swagger defending the U.S. title against the Gobbldigooker, Shockmaster, Brooklyn Brawler, Snooki, or whomever.

Though that would work better on Raw really, not the biggest PPV of the year.

Furthermore, isn't it the rule that you can only make someone an April Fool before midday?

I agree with Dagger here. Why would you try and put a joke into the biggest PPV of the year? Why would you want to ruin it? It would definately be great on Raw but you want to go all out on WM, atleast that's what I would do. Even if Vince was planning to do something I still couldn't see what he could do. What could he honestly have to use with a joke? It would have to be a promo of some sought and would probably involve Santino.

If it had something to do with Santino then I would be all for it, as long as it is in a promo. But if it has anything to do outside of Santino then please do not do it Vince!

If the WWE really wanted to pull the ultimate prank and fool the world then they wouldn't have The Rock show up for his match against Cena. That or he'd appear via satellite and just ramble on about some movie and he actually meant next year's Wrestlemania.

However I can't really see any sort of prank going down and if it does it belongs in a backstage segment with someone along the lines of Hornswoggle and Santino. Just some goofy bit with them messing around with heels that aren't featured on the card. Some goofy stuff like that. Nothing serious that is going to make the PPV look like a joke, just something to pass time and people will look over it (a la the Snoop Dogg segment from last year).

Wrestlemania VI, The Skydome in Toronto, Canada. April 1, 1990 - no April Fools Day joke. Wrestlemania X-Seven, Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas. April 1, 2001 - no April Fools Day joke. Wrestlemania 23, Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. April 1, 2007 - no April Fools Day joke. Yeah, the WWE has passed up the chance before, why would they do it now? It's the biggest wrestling pay-per-view not only in the WWE but all of wrestling. Why devalue that by turning it into a joke? These types of jokes are best saved for WWE.com and hilarious backstage skits involving Santino Merella. Wrestlemania doesn't need an April Fools joke; save the pointless shenanigans for the backstage.

Remember the prank they pulled on Mark Henry when they played his music and he went out for no reason? Or all those J.R. angles they did without telling him because they thought it would be funny? Or how about Randy Orton taking dumps on bags? JBL sticking his fingers up peoples asses?

Yeah, I don't want a prank from WWE. Especially at Wrestlemania. I think "Santina" was prank enough.

All I know is we can expect 20 minutes of segments with Hornswoggle and Santino Marella pulling pranks. It could be the only thing those two bozos are good for.

I'm sure WWE will milk the April's Fool's Day aspect in some way.

This would be like going to a school dance and listening to your Ipod.

April fools is completely irrelevant to Wrestlemania, although stupider has occured, 70.000+ fans and millions of dollars for one of the biggest sports entertainment events ever is surely not going to have some candle such as "April Fools" held anywhere near it.
Sorry, that would be like winning the lottery on your birthday, your birthday suddenly is of no relevance to you as this occurs.

If anything happens it will be a segment backstage. Risking a match slot on a prank is not in their best interest but this is WWE... we could see something interesting I'm sure.

April Fools and Mania has happened before (as mentioned). The only thing that has an okay possibility of happening is something off camera. The only thing on camera with a slight possibility of happening is a heel coming into the ring before his match and in an effort to bring some extra heat pulls the old fake superstar return. I could see Miz pulling off something like this introducing someone like Stone Cold followed by the glass breaking and no Stone Cold to be found.

I hope for no pranks to be pulled on such a huge PPV like this. Vince would be pretty sick in the head to pull any stunts on a PPV as big as Wrestlemania with the whole world watching

The joke will be when Vince comes out and The Rock is wondering what's going on and that is when the ref gets knocked out and Cena AA's The Rock. Cena wonders what is going on too and Vince grabs a chair to give it to Cena and Cena being Cena refuses to use it so he and Vince argue over the chair and he accidentally pushes Vince off the apron by hitting him with the chair, that is when Cena throws the chair down and he turns around and gets The Rock bottom; the ref pins 1................2........................................3.

The Rock wins.

The jokes on you all because you actually thought Cena would win lol

You know what, I can actually see that happening but instead of Vince, it would be Triple H since he is the new man in charge.

Divas tag match. April Fools- you thought we wouldnt waste your time!

Seriously, there is going to be so many twists and excitement at this years WM, we wont need any lame jokes worked in. Vince hasnt cared before so why now? Only thing I can see is if they bring someone back for the GM tag match at the last minute.

Hell, maybe even a surprise run-in to one of the lowercard matches. A surprise return to kick off a new feud with someone like Orton or Rhodes might happen, but who knows. Keep it along those lines and it wont be a moment fans just groan over if they do have something planned.

I see maybe an impromptu April Fools Joke played on the Miz at this year's Wrestlemania if he isn't included in the Long/Laurinaitis match.

Since he doesn't have a match this year, he'll go out to the ring and demand a match at Wrestlemania.

Out comes Goldust who gets ambushed mid way to the ring by Cody Rhodes who gives him Crossrhodes on the steel ramp.

Then out comes Rey Mysterio who gets ambushed by JL claiming he is not yet medically cleared to compete. Strike two.

A pissed off Miz starts jawing off at JL for his incompetence while Stone Cold sneaks up behind him, gives him the middle fingers, spins him around and gives him a stunner, laying him out cold.

End segment.

Well, I finally saw it happen. It's not a prank, but atleast I was right about them not passing up the chance to mention/do something with it.

Cody will apparently make a joke out of Big Show he says, (last week) So I wonder how far he'll take it. Of course with all of the rumored time Rock's gonna get for backstage segments, we still could see a literal quick prank.

I dont see Miz getting pranked I see Miz interfering in the main event- to the person who said he'd get pranked. It's gonna be him "paying The Rock back" in a way and getting his moment by recking the main event if he cant be in the event he main evented last year. Setting up Rock vs Miz for SummerSlam when a furious Rock claims he didnt need Miz's help and this would also set up this once in a lifetime Cena vs Rock match for a once in a lifetime rematch next year at WM29 for a clean finish.

Miz isn't getting pranked now. He finally got his spot on team Tedd... uh Johnny. Oddly enough now I think the Miz might be starting a face turn now at Wrestlemania and maybe cost Team Laurinaitis the match.

As for the Miz interfering with the Cena/Rock match, I don't see it. I believe it has to stay 'pure'. The once in a decade match should NEVER have any outside interference and we need the payoff at Wrestlemania. Leave the screw job endings for the minor PPV's.

Lillian Garcia. Recently she's been on the end of some jokes/embarrasments. But i think it will be something to do with The Big Show and Cody Rhodes with Rhodes making light of Big Show's Wrestlemania embarassments.

Vince comes out and announces Randy Savage for the Hall of Fame next year. Wait, let me look at my $20,000 dollar watch. Hmm it appears it is April 1st so you are a fool if you ever think Macho Man is getting in my Hall of Fame. Commence storyline.

Or even better do a punk'd where they tell Sammartino he is getting that one last run he demands to go into the hall.
