Hard Hit Prince
Not really working as a
I think that they are very close, there is no way WrestleMania 27 can be considered bad and if you think that you probably never watched any other Mania. It was a very good PPV, it did delivered in every aspect and in terms of storylines It was a good culmination.
Breaking it down, we had Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes as the match that made Cody Rhodes's career. The all "crazy and lunatic" Rhodes angle was perfect and the match delivered. CM Punk vs. Randy Orton was a good storyline with New Nexus getting banned in the build-up and that angle with the "punt", at least it was better than the crappy thing that Orton and Kane had this year. Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio was the match that everyone wanted to see happen, the mexican aristocrat was fresh in the WWE, he made a huge impact and he delivered in great matches with Rey Mysterio, Christian, etc and probably going first in the card was the biggest mistake. Now Triple H vs. The Undertaker No Holds Barred was a good and dramatic match, it had the feeling and the intensity and while watching the match and with The Undertaker getting his worst beat down, I know you doubted. The "Hell's Gate" was a fantastic finisher and while overshadowed by this year Hell in a Cell, it still was an incredible match. Forgetting the filler matches, we go to The Miz vs. John Cena. Now I know that The Miz has a lot of haters, but that video package before the match was insane, it showed that The Miz was there and the draw with John Cena in a clean way was great, specially because he had never lost in singles matches at the "Biggest Stage". The Miz wasn't overshadowed by The ROck in any means of the word, he did draw over 1.000.000 viewers in his segment about "MizTory" when he flipped the WWE logo. He was over, he played like a boss with the big ones and he fitted the main event, and him going over with the aid of The Rock was a perfect ending, he was the coward heel, going over clean was doubtful and having Cena win wasn't needed so they went for the best thing they could and it was great and The Miz capitalized on that for a while. He deserved that main-event spot, he was working his ass off and delivering with good promos and good performances with the likes of Jerry Lawler for god sake.
While this year's WrestleMania had two instant classics in The Undertaker vs. Triple H with Shawn as the referee and the "Once in a Lifetime" John Cena vs. The Rock, I can safely say that besides that nothing actually draw. Nobody will remember CM Punk v. Jericho just because the storyline flopped big time, at that time Jericho had only won 2 matches, one against Kofi Kingston and the other one against CM Punk in a tag team match, the rest was vignettes about being the best in the world and I didn't feel the match, it was very very predictable.
They are very similar, but I would go with the WM 27 just because of the storylines, even Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole had a good build-up to it.
