Would You Want Edge in TNA?

In addition to everything stated above, when a performer reaches the final stages of his wrestling career, he sooner wants to make as much money as he can, rather than start a new career with an upstart organization that will force him to take a serious pay cut.

As I see it, that's why Christian and Gail Kim left TNA to return to WWE. They had to know they wouldn't be featured players as they were in Dixie-land.....and I don't think they particularly cared. They were in their mid to late 30's and wanted to set themselves up financially in anticipation of the end of their useful lives as athletes.

Same goes for Edge. His body has absorbed numerous injuries; some of them serious. Why he would want to start over in the Minor Leagues after being a headliner in the Majors is beyond me. And if he wants to sign a new contract and hold on for a few more years, it's better to do it in WWE. Who knows, maybe he's threatening to leave when his contract expires in order to negotiate a lighter schedule. If he succeeds, all the power to him.

Hearing that Edge is going to retire in 2012 really upset me. Hes my favorite of today and I can't imagine the wwe without him hes been there since I was 3 and Im 16 now. However its just a rumor so we don't know for sure but on the other hand this rumor has been going on for awhile.

Okay I'm like one of the biggest edge fans you'll ever meet but I don't want to see him in TNA. Edge is a future HOF and he has done it all in the business and why should he go to a company like TNA what will they do for him besides less traveling? Going to TNA would do nothing for Edge like a lot of past posters have said. Edge has been in the WWE for 11-12 years now and going to TNA would be pointless for him. Edge is a big time main eventer in wwe so if he wanted to stay in wrestling he would probley stay with wwe.Edge is one of the guys that I think will never go to TNA he will be like HBK and remain faithful to Vince McMahon.

If Edge is going to leave WWE he is probley retiring from all wrestling. Hes had some bad injuries over the past few years and deserves a good retirement. I think when Edge retires he might do acting like Stone Cold did and also focus on his family and he deserves to. Edge has worked hard to get to where he is today and he has earned his rightful place in wwe history as one of the best wrestlers of all time. When he leaves he will be truly missed and remebered as one of the best.

Edge does not need to go anywhere if in fact, he really is saying he's done with WWE. He's one of the biggest main eventers they've got. Granted he would get a reduced schedule, and time to rest his body, but he is going to take a HUGE paycut so Hogan and Bischoff can keep their pockets stuffed. His body is so battered and bruised. He really just needs time away. Besides having to basically do dogfights for mainevent right now, he shouldn't HAVE to think about doing TNA. He needs to rest and let himself enjoy his free time. He's even said he's probably taken so many years off his life with the types of matches he's done. You know that TNA would only take advantage of the fact that he has done the hardcore stuff before and want to get him in on that just to try to one up the E. He doesn't need anymore injuries at this stage in life. Let him hang out, settle down. Edge deserves to sit back and relax, and not from recovering from an injury.

what would Edge going to TNA have to do with him for the WWE HOF? if Edge went to TNA then the WWE would say well forget it your not longer going to be in our HOF? maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

from what I understand Edge wants to wrestle less often than he does in WWE. TNA fits that since they do wrestle less often.

I don't watch WWE much anymore so not sure what Edge gimmick type stuff is right now, but last I knew he was/is the Rated R superstar. hard to be "Rated R" in WWE during the "PG era".

now if he was to go to TNA he would have to wrestle under a different name rather than Edge, since Edge is his WWE name. his real name is Adam Copeland.

from what I read his contract with WWE is not up until sometime in 2012, so it's not like it would be anytime soon anyway.

personally I would love to see Edge in TNA. I think he would be great there. at least that's what I think right now, but since it's still a ways off not sure how I would feel when the time comes.

It would kind of be cool because Edge is awesome but in a way it just wouldn't feel right as he is a WWE original and has been there his whole career. Down the road after he retired I could see him going to TNA maybe and doing a one off eud or something for the paycheck, but even then it could feel kinda weird. I'd rather have him go back to WWE at some point in a brief run if he ever came back for one last brief one. (like a show at Canada as a surprise or something.)

i would love to see edge continue in WWE, he has been getting a nice push lately, he has been doing good, other then this match against ziggler coming up, (but thats cause vickie is a terrible person, where is teddy long :(!!!! or at least make the RAW gm the Smackdown gm until a new guy is found) i would hate to see him go to tna, unfortunetly that seems to be where all the former WWE superstars go now adays :( though TNA is doing decent cause of it

I don’t think Edge will go to TNA. I think him not signing when his contract is up will be him simply hanging up the boots. Edge has said in interviews he feels that he is nearing the end of his wrestling career. He wouldn’t be worth anymore to TNA than Hogan, Hardy or Flair already are and he certainly wouldn’t build their ratings. He’d be a good addition to the roster but he wouldn’t save the company or put it into the next level.

If Edge doesn’t sign after his contract expires I see him retiring, not going to TNA.

No No No... Why would you wanna see him there. The guy is a for sure hall of famer and he said his life long dream was to work with WWE. I think he should just retire peacefully he also has a movie coming out soon and has worked a couple of commercials so maybe he can come back to promote a movie later on such as Stone Cold has done.

Yeah Edge being in action movies would be sick. But they proably all be direct to dvd films like Steve Austin. Edge will most likely retire from the WWE and not go to TNA.

I would. With all due respect to Kurt Angle, Edge may be the biggest 'free agent' acquisition in TNA history, wrestler wise.

Edge has noted in several nterviews that he wants to work a lighter schedule when his contract expires with WWE next year. The best fit for him to do that would obviously be TNA.

The other report Ive heard is that Edge wants to put over young talent the way he was put over when he first entered the business. Again, I would argue that the better opportunity for him to do so would be in TNA.

The only problem with any of this is that Edge is a sure-fire Hall of Famer when he retires, and him jumping to TNA would jeorpardize this. It would be unusual for Vince to induct someone whose worked 13 years for your company only to jump ship to your competition to end his career.

But TNA would be a good fit for Edge, and Edge a good fit for TNA. He'ld be a high profile acquisition, even if he's lost a step since his achilles injury. His desire to work a lesser schedule would make TNA an attractive destination. And if Edge is truly determined to put over younger talent, the opportunity to do so is there moreso in TNA then in WWE. My only worry is that he would be left out of the Hall of Fame, as he is truly deserving. My hope is that he would be inducted, regardless of his decision of how he ends his career.

Agreed, Edge has nothing to gain from going to TNA. If he is to continue wrestling, it would make no sense for him to go anywhere except WWE. He is one of the most important members of the roster, a multi-time World Champion, and although TNA would offer a reduced schedule, if his body really is breaking down- and by all accounts it is after some of the matches he has been a part of- then Vince would allow one of his key players a reduced schedule, as he has done with both Michaels and Undertaker in recent years. Edge is too valuable for Vince to drive him to burnout.

If he needs some time away from the business to let his body heal to a certain degree, just like Jericho, then I believe this would also be something Vince would be ok with, and after a break I could only see Edge returning to the 'E, why would he want to give up the good relationship he has with the company to drop down to TNA?

If he ever was to end up in TNA, they would surely attempt to capitalise on his former TLC match experience and expect Edge to go and recreate this stuff on their PPV's, when his body probably isnt up for it anymore. TNA has a lot more high-risk, hard-hitting style than WWE now and even with the reduced schedule it wouldnt be good for Edge. Plus, they would expect him to blade alot more regularly.

For the Edgester, at this point in his career, WWE is the best place for him. It is the most exposure, best financial package, and I do believe that he will want to go out infront of the crowd on the grandest stage of them all. Nothing TNA can offer can compete with what Vince will provide for his top stars.

Edge is a future hall-of-famer and I think that if he does take a break, he will return for one more run culminating in a match with Christian at WM, where his best friend will "retire" him

I think Edge would be a perfect fit for TNA as his career winds down. With all due respect to Kurt Angle, Edge would be the most high-profile acquisition TNA has ever signed from WWE, wrestler-wise. I know he's lost a step since his achilles injury, but he can still go.

Edge has repeatedly stated in interviews that he wants a lighter schedule as his wrestling days wind down. He's stated all the high-risk matches he's performed in throughout his 13 year career in WWE has taken a real tole on his body. The company that would offer Edge the best opprtunity to do this would be TNA.

Edge has also made it known that he wants to finish his career in putting over younger talent. Again, Id argue that the better place for him to do so would be TNA. Both the mid-card and the main event scene has a plethora of talent that competing with and defeating a ten time World Champion would make for an excellent rub.

The only concern I would have would be regarding Ede and the Hall of Fame. Edge is a sure-fire HOF upon retirement. He's held every active men's title there is to hold on multiple occasions, and holds the record for most tag-team championships within WWE. Ending his career in TNA could possibly jeopardize this, and Edge deserves the honor.

But for the most part, I think this is a win-win situation for both parties. TNA would allow Edge to work the lighter schedule he craves. TNA would benefit from having a ten time World Champion who doesn't mind giving the rub to younger talent. In terms of what Edge has to offer to TNA, I fail to see the downside.

Edge is loyaled to WWE he will never sign with TNA.

As was Flair, Angle, Hogan, Dudley Boys, Hardys and Foley I suppose.

Anyway it all depends on what Edge is like in 2012, I hope he'll still be able to preform the way he dose today wheter it be in WWE or TNA, because I'm a big fan of Edge. If it was up to me I'ld like to see him in TNA more, because I don't watch WWE as much and his Rated R Superstar character would be better suited in a TV 14 type show.

I would think a wrestler would be loyal to whoever is going to pay him the most or offer him the most of what he is looking for. some might have thought that Kevin Nash would have been loyal to TNA, but we know where he is now.
I don't know when in 2012 his contract is up, but whenever it is he would still have to wait 90 days until he could go to TNA anyway right?

by the time he could go to TNA it might not even matter, because December 21 2012 is the end of the world right, I'm just saying.

HELL no. Edge sucks. He's out of shape, he's all injured, slow, half-asses in the ring and his mic-skills are not even above average. Hell no, stay away.
