Would You Want Edge in TNA?

If the report is true and he will be leaving WWE.I know I would!!! To me WWE is ruining him in this PG Era. I think he would welcome a change to TNA. Plus it sucks that he is on Smackdown.

Hard to say.

On one hand, yes, I would, because Edge is a fantastic wrestling personality and would be coming in with a laundry list of accolades behind him, but he'd also be coming in at a minimum age of 39, possibly 40 depending on when he left WWE and when he actually joined TNA as a result.

I'm sure it'll be an interesting project to keep note of for TNA officials, but my jury is still out on a decision.

How come everytime there is a rumor about someone leaving the WWE, everyone makes a thread about them going to TNA because WWE "ruined" them. Dude, Edge has a great thing in WWE right now. His matches are better than most. Sure he cant hump the ring during his entrance or have a live sex celebration during RAW but he is great and I really doubt that he will go to TNA.

Considering that last injury took years off his athletic life i'd rather he retire peacefully after his WWE run, not to mention his RL drama with Fat Hardy would crop up and prolly be used for more meh Real shoots.

TNA already has a pretty good roster its just a matter of maximizing its potential.

Because it sparks conversation — him having been "ruined" by WWE is the opinion part of the topic which is obviously up for your scrutiny, but there is nothing wrong with proposing a discussion based on a could-be scenario in the future.

People said Ric Flair would never go to TNA too — including Ric himself — so let's not undercut every thread simply because the guy spent the majority of his career with WWE. Kurt Angle also pissed all over that theory of loyalty to the grave.

This was my first thought after reading his contract expires in 2012, 'Edge in TNA' would be a wrestling dream come true for me. Anytime I'd watch an Christian match when he was with TNA, I'd wish somehow Edge would show up.

Imagine one of the PPV's in 2012... for arguements sake lets say Bound For Glory (and since Bound For Glory is the ppv they always travel with, lets say they throw it in Toronto). The main event is Ken Anderson vs Aj Styles (or maybe Robert Roode since TNA throws home town boys in the main event- ex Sting maineventing the BFG in LA).

AJ hits the pele and then a spinal tap causing everybody to mark out like crazy (because whether you are a TNA fan or not, Spinal Tap is a great move). He covers Anderson, 1...2... lights go out. Taz and Tenay go from about to call AJ's victory to confusion. The camera shoots over to the entrance, where a smoke appears.... some variation of " you think you know me.." (since he won't be able to carry over Metalingus or the ' you think you know me' but it will be similar)

The lights come back on, and there is a bearded Edge in the ring (think Survivor Series 2008) Aj Gets up, confused as shit... Edge spears him into tomorrow. Anderson gets up, groggy as shit, and walks right into and edgeucution. For good measure, he does the ref too.

The crowd, very canadian and very pro Edge simply melts down. Edge then grabs the TNA title, poses with it in the center of the ring untill security makes their way to the ring.... he bails out the back and into the crowd and runs away as the ppv ends begining a story line where he has hijacked the TNA title.

Only down fall that i forgot to mention, other then his injury past and his age, is the fact that he will probably have to change his name. I imagine he is no different then other WWE wrestlers with stage names and they own the trademark to Edge....so I guess he'd have to go with Adam Copeland?

Which that kind of takes away from the fun.

NO!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soryr but it's all a one way benefit. all TNA, nothing for Edge

WWE made Edge, and he deserves HOF induction in the future. TNA at best will give him maybe a few hundred new fans that would otherwise not care about him or on average will do nothing but bury him in a sea of neverwere's, led by hasbeens

Give him a push to a third rate world title for a few months then he'll be forgotten about.

Oh and a huge paycut.

on the flipside it would be a boom for TNA having another person who actually has a clue what he's doing.

Don't we find it funny that so many people claim WWE sucks and TNA has the best wrestlers, yet soon as someone apparently has a tiff with WWE or they talk of leaving to pursue other interests, suddenly WWE is the place of stars and TNA should pick them up.

Time for Edge to take some time off and concentrate on his family and healing wounds, he's deserved it. That is if the rumours aren't just bullshit like 90% are. Help WWE backstage

as for it sucks he's on Smackdown.
are us serious????

Ever think maybe he likes it on Smackdown? RAW is the show that has fallen off the wagon in the past years.
besides, Smackdown's not live, it's more wrestling orientated, more family friendly

He's among the headliners on Smackdown, it's just like Kurt Angle/Benoit going to WWE-ECW it is a huge benefit for the show, he's doing what's right for the company and still get the most air time and has huge accolades as a result

If he was really pissed about it, he woulda quit years ago. Get a clue.

2000-2001 edge would have been kickass in TNA..even then it would have been pointless for him to go there had TNA been in existence, he'd already be wrecking house with todays top tna stars when they were in shape. *coughhardyscough* Though it would be pretty hilarious to see matt hardy have more severe night terrors as a result of edge showing up in TNA...I'm torn on this one haha.

It really depends in what type of capacity they use Edge in.

Like most I'm an Edge fan, he's a great talent and of course can be extremely helpful to TNA, not only from a match standpoint but he could also lend his experience to help bring up up and comers, or wrestlers that need a little tutoring whether that be in the ring or on the mic.

If Edge comes in like RVD and Jeff Hardy did and basically take over the show I'll be against it, the last thing TNA needs is another WWE guy to come in and take over, it just makes them look like a "lesser" version of the WWE.

Edge would be great, as long as he was used in the correct manner, help talent grow, put over talent, maybe have a bit of a title run but overall use him to help out the talent because the truth is Edge is getting up there in years, it'll be at least a year and a half if he ever comes to TNA and by that time he'll be much more suited to helping up and comers, not hogging the main event spotlight.

Anyone can say they would want Edge in TNA.. but the question is, you always ask this question, as soon as a WWE superstar says he is leaving, we start aski ng each other if he/she would go TNA.. Why? Cuz TNA sign loads of former WWE superstars.. Well to answer your question...

Do I want Edge in TNA??

Well..Noo.. I don't.. He has been a WWE superstar for over 10 years, there is no need for him to leave the "E" and go down to TNA, thats just a crap move for a guy like him.. If he is going to leave WWE, I think he means wrestling for good.. He has slowed down in the ring, his matches are not getting any better sooo.. If he was to leave the WWE, I'd rather he leave wrestling... He has accomplished everything IMO...

Definitely not. Not because I dont like Edge (I do), but because 1) he has slowed down quite a bit in recent years due to injuries and 2) he would have to completely reinvent his character, which at this stage in the game would be pointless.

Yes i would. Period. Why wouldnt anyone. So what.. The pay cut, the lower fan base or whatever you guys are going to comlain about. The truth is everyone wants to see Edge in TNA. WE ALL NOW WRESTLING IS SCRIPTED! COME ON!! I want to see the matches that could take place and see Edge really step back into artisit control of his character. He also has enough pull to keep his charater on track if he was "Cross the Line". It would be great for him to go there, but i dont think that any of us would be that lucky.

Edge vs AJ would be hot as fuk. I really think tna guys like Sting and Nash (older talent) are afraid to give up their spotlight to younger guys like Jay Lethal and Desmond Wolfe. These are the guys who are capable of taking this company into 2020. Edge knows his place and is always one to help get young talent over like Jericho does too. Thats tna's problem, the older talent still glows over the spotlight. The only older guy who can still put on a good match is Angle. Thats the best of the old talent. Jeff Jarrett destroyed his company by putting himself as a main eventer when he is clearly a mid card talent at best.

I can't remember the last time I seen edge...or smackdown for that matter. maybe it was 08 or 07 or um...yea something like that. Anyways, back around that time is when I wanted edge in tna. love his work, would take him over orton any day. Do I want him now? Like I said, i havent seen him in years so I don't really know. He has the charisma...if he can still put on matches like he use to then I say why not. One move I'd like to see is his submission move, the edge-u-cater. name change...i'd imagine they'd do something like what they did with christian. kinda hard since edge really isn't a first name

No No No... Why would you wanna see him there. The guy is a for sure hall of famer and he said his life long dream was to work with WWE. I think he should just retire peacefully he also has a movie coming out soon and has worked a couple of commercials so maybe he can come back to promote a movie later on such as Stone Cold has done.

As much as i love TNA, i really do not want to see Edge anywhere else then WWE for one reason and one reason only, he was a huge fan of the WWE when he was a kid so there is no chance in hell he's going to go to TNA especially if Fatt Hardy is there it would just be a waste of his time.

I personally wouldn't want to see him go to TNA. I don't see how it would benefit him in anyway. He's accomplished everything he could possibly accomplish in his career. His body is worn down at this point and he probably doesn't have many active years ahead of him.

If he goes to TNA he would have a easier road schedule but he would still be expected to have high caliber matches. I just think he would be better off retiring or staying with WWE in another capacity. Obviously he wouldn't be the Edge we all know if he went to TNA.

Edge vs Christian BFG 2012. Put it on your calendars. I was thinking about this when we were contemplating the possibility of Matt Hardy coming to TNA. I was considering what it would be like if TNA had Jeff, Matt, Christian and Edge, basically the veterans that WWE would have been using from that generation. Would that pull in some people who were hooked on these guys when they originally came in? At the time I realized Edge still had quite a bit on his contract so the age factor was going to loom heavy and prevent it from happening anytime that soon. Not sure why everyone acts like it is impossible to entertain as a 40 year old in wrestling though. Edge has his fans and I would not mind seeing him have one last real run as the rated r superstar.

i would hate it if he went to TNA...not only is it a stupid idea, its also pointless..if Edge leaves WWE, he wont be wrestling anywhere, just like Jericho....that would be weird if he went to TNA...and now with talk of Christian possibly leaving WWE....Dudleys in TNA, and Hardys in TNA....could we see one more 3 way someday?

I have read numerous times that, when he tore his Achilles, it was harder than ever for him to come back, because of his age(37). In these same articles, he has said that, he wants to be retired by age 40.

He has been in the WWF/E for 12 years now, so, you know he is probably set for life, therefore, I think going to TNA would be a huge mistake for Edge. I mean, in the beginning, it would be HUGE, but, eventually, the novelty would die off, and that would be the end of that.

I dont think he will go anywhere when his contract expires. If anything, he will "pull a Jericho", and take some extended time off, and if he feels his body is up to it again, he will come back to WWE, but, going to TNA?, i really hope not.

Even though it probably won't happen, it is a cool thought. He may bring his Edgehead fans over than the Hardys could their fans.
He'd be able to let go and do what he wanted. Give him a rockstar type gimmick to replace the Rated R and you're set.

He'd never make it in TNA; Matt Hardy would probably shank him, given how little TNA cares about making criminals into world champions.

Edge has a good relationship with the WWE. He's leaving of his own accord. If he does decide he wants to wrestle again, or make more money, WWE will always be open to him; he's reached that level in WWE where he's beyond reproach; he won't be shitcanned for petty political reasons, he can take time off all he wants, he's reached a level like Rey Mysterio and Kane and such. If he wants to lessen his schedule the way Shawn Michaels or the Undertaker did, he can do so.

TNA cannot afford Edge the way WWE can afford to pay him. TNA had HULK FUCKING HOGAN, THE JESUS CHRIST OF WRESTLING, and they STILL couldn't pull ratings beyond a 1.5 for longer than two weeks. If Edge goes to TNA to be a full time wrestler, he's finished as a legitimate wrestler.

Hell yeah! Edge is one of the best wrestlers ever, and him coming to TNA would be bigger than Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, etc joining the company. Even if he's in his 50's, I'd still want him to join. Legendary wrestler = WIN!
