will hulk hogan ever come back too many times?

bigbootydaddyV

arrogant bastard
So after watching brooke knows best and seeing the surgery hulk had and from his own words it seems like he is still very much interested in wrestling again, particularly to put food on the table. This is a very admirable reason and its too bad he is even in that situation. If he returns again, lets say to WWE bc you have to believe the door is still not closed there will he have returned one time too many. Michael Jordan's first return was amazing, the second one was just too much, the same will probably be said of brett favre's second return, and can probably be said of his first. To date, hulk's returns have still be great and entertaining. Is the fact that this man literally made the business what it is a reason why he may never come back too many times?? Or do u think he's done and should not come back and risk hurting his legacy. Btw ric flair imo is already at that position. He had the great send off and he should not ever step back in a ring becuase it will be nothing more than a joke. Hulk may be, maybe not...what do you think?

I don't think Hogan could ever come back too many times. I'm a huge Hulkamaniac and enjoy his returns every time. The only thing I worry about this stage in his life is him getting hurt and what he has to go through physically to make these returns and what effect it has on him. I don't think there is really much that could hurt his legacy, that is set in stone. No one can take away what he has meant to this business and how he paved the way to for the stars of yesterday and today. He and McMahon are the 2 that started it all, he truly is the Babe Ruth of wrestling, his legend like Hulkamania will live forever!!!!

That depends on your definition of "too many times".

As a personality or for an appearance - absolutely not !!!!!

As a wrestler - absolutely !!!!!

At some point in time, and that's not too far off, Hogan in a wrestling ring is going to be like watching Tony Atlas and Evan Bourne from a few weeks back on ECW. There comes a point in time when a guy has to hang up his tights. Sure, every now and again he'll put on a memorable match (see Flair/Michaels at Mania or Steamboat/Jericho at Backlash), but once a guy hits a certain point, he simply can't perform in the ring on a regular basis anymore.

As for appearances, Hogan's music will never wear thin. It's an instant pop for anyone in the arena or at home because Hogan truly is the greatest wrestler of all time or at least the best sports entertainer ever. He helped make the WWF / WWE what it is today and bringing that nostalgia back will never get old.

I agree with both above me. I don't really think Hulk Hogan can really return too many times in my opinion. I'm a big Hulk Hogan fan and I think he is still fairly good in the ring, but after this surgery he recently had, I don't know how good he'll be in the ring. He can return to WWE again, but he doesn't always have to wrestle. I'm sure people would be happy to see him in any form. I've always liked people coming out of retirement, and doing what they do best. Hulk Hogan is no different!

I Believe Hulk Had A Huge Fallout With Vince A Couple Of Years Back , Hogan Always Puts On A Good Show Also..
But Imagine Hogan in TNA (as of nxt month) Teaming With Sting Against The Main Event Mafia , & Cuasing Nash To Quit Mafia & Join A Somewhat Kind Of A New NWO

So after watching brooke knows best

Takes a real man to admit that.

and seeing the surgery hulk had and from his own words it seems like he is still very much interested in wrestling again

Typical old wrestler syndrome. Impossible to leave the ring while your heart is beating.

particularly to put food on the table.

Plastic in Brooke's boobs.

This is a very admirable reason and its too bad he is even in that situation.

Should have got a prenuptial.

If he returns again, lets say to WWE bc you have to believe the door is still not closed there will he have returned one time too many.

He was thinking abut going to TNA once. I think if TNA was offering the money that WWE had (or doesn't haver for him), then he would go there.

Michael Jordan's first return was amazing,

I will always be a fan of his MLB career.

the second one was just too much

Sure brought in viewers for his basketball team.

the same will probably be said of brett favre's second return,

Aren't we on three now?

To date, hulk's returns have still be great and entertaining.

Nostalgia is great.

Is the fact that this man literally made the business what it is a reason why he may never come back too many times??

He can come back too much I think. And that happened right around the time he was teaming with someone with a fake mental illness.

Or do u think he's done and should not come back and risk hurting his legacy.

And his self. I almost feel that at his age, injury is an important issue. He is beaten up enough to even try another run.
As for his Legacy, he will of course always be remembered for slamming Andre, facing Warrior, protecting his country from Iraq, turning black and white, up until the date he fought the Rock.

Btw ric flair imo is already at that position.

See:

Hogan never actually got that GREAT sendoff. But he was around long enough to go out. The Rock put him over, Shawn put him over, and Stone Cold refused to put him over. I always felt that he should have put someone over to give them the respect. That man I talk of is John Cena.

I don't think Hogan could ever come back too many times.
I don't want walker: Hulk Hogan on my television screen.

I'm a huge Hulkamaniac and enjoy his returns every time.

I as well, just as I enjoy going to Hall of Fames.

The only thing I worry about this stage in his life is him getting hurt and what he has to go through physically to make these returns

A little juice in the tank.

and what effect it has on him.

His bank account gets 24 inch pythons.

I don't think there is really much that could hurt his legacy

I bet people thought the same about Ric Flair.

that is set in stone.

If the WWE changes history they could.

That depends on your definition of "too many times".

When I saw Heenan in his bad shape, I sure feel sorry for him.

Match was better for the buildup.

but once a guy hits a certain point, he simply can't perform in the ring on a regular basis anymore.

Right around the time your skin detaches.

It truly is my second favourite song. All the rest are tied for first.

Hogan should have had his last match a long time ago. Perhaps putting the Rock over. If they gave him one more go, I really feel that John Cena is the man who has to be put over.

I guess I have two opinions on this matter. First off, if we are talking about it from a physical standpoint then yes Hogan could come back too many times. Is it really worth it for him to come back and possibly destroy his body to the point where he is in pain for the rest of his life. It could also have an effect on his legacy, if he is limping to the ring or botching spots left and right that will probably leave a bad vision on his career.

Secondly, I may sound a little biased here because I am a big Hulk Hogan mark but nonetheless. If it's from a business, money, and ratings standpoint then no I think there is no amount of times he can come back. I was watching an episode of Raw that I still had dvr'd from before this past Wrestlemania. It was a segment between Edge and Big Show, Edge was talking about Warrior/Hogan from Wrestlemania 6. He told Big Show that he was better then the Warrior, NO CROWD RESPONSE! Then he said he was far better then Hulk Hogan, this was some if the not the most heel heat I have heard anybody get in the past year. I mean the fans were booing the hell out of Edge for saying that. Now my point to this is, Hogan has not been in a WWE ring in 2 1/2 years and for him to give that kind of heel heat to somebody tells me how much Hogan can return over and over again. I mean we all know if Hogan comes back ratings and prob merchandise will go up big time. Will it last long term probably not but regardless it would be a win win for the WWE anytime it would happen. Hogan would get the money he needs and WWE would get good business, sell T-shirts and get better ratings. If Hogan can do it I think he should, even in a non wrestling role. Hogan in WWE means good things IMO!

It's this simple.

Hogan can NEVER come through that curtain too many times. But that does apply to appearances only. You're only good between those ropes for so long, but your presence and your legacy and your connection with the crowd will never die. If you advertise Hogan making an appearance on your program, your ratings WILL increase. The WWE knows it. If Hogan was a guest host of Raw some night, I guar-en-damn-tee that will be your highest rated episode of Raw during this guest host stint. I know at this point Hogan needs wrestling (the WWE) more than the WWE needs Hogan, but Hogan carried the WWE on his back for a long long time. That man made Vince a load of money. I believe as much as a businessman Vince is, he should help Hogan out when Hogan needs it and forget about past riffs. I firmly believe there would be no WWE today if there was no Hulk Hogan.

The final word is also simple. Yes professional wrestling needs to learn to move on from Hogan. But wrestling is Hogan's blood. Entertaining the fans is in his heart however he may go about doing it. And the professional wrestling business caters to who? The fans. I say: As long as the people want Hogan, give them Hogan. I'm sorry but when that music hits, every single person is out of whatever seat and in awe of a total legend. That music makes people paralyzed from the waist down stand up and makr the fuck out. Make another print of Hulkamania shirts with the red letters and yellow shirt. They WILL sell. I don't own one, I would buy one. Hogan=Ratings. Hogan=$$$. Hogan=Happy Fans.

Here is my two cents on the situation...
Does anyone remember when the Ultimate Warrior had his one last match in Italy against Orlando Jordan and even though his hair stayed short and gray he still wore the warrior paint and put on an almost 10 minute match (it might have been longer I only watched the youtube version) the fans there popped because he was one of the big legend names people remember.

The fact of the matter is people love watching legends I mean Slaughter and Dibiase alone brought decent ratings, not as big as shaq but its there. Flair when he comes back for a week or two stint people eat it up because they always think he'll come out of retirement, and that is what people want. Hell even the return of HBK when he returned after years of being gone brought ratings up.

When you bring Hogan back in any capacity he will draw, its a gimmie. He could slam Khali or the Big Show at his age and people would almost talk about it like it was the second coming of WM3, or he could just come out and announce or be a GM or whatever he ends up doing, and you know people would watch just to see if Hogan will have one more match.

If Hogan never wrestled again, that would be fine, but I expect Hogan to go anywhere he can and I expect him to wrestle atleast 10 more matches before the end of 2012.

I wouldn't mind at all if Hogan had some sort of active role in the WWE, just not as a wrestler. I saw the episode of Brooke Knows Best as well and the man's back is fucked up, and I mean fucked up good.

Hogan as an on air personality, possibly a GM or a manager, hell even a commentator could be a very good thing for both himself and the WWE. However, I have no desire to see Hulk Hogan get into a wrestling ring again and wrestle. Now, like everyone else, I'd tune in just to see Hogan but the fact is that he really shouldn't wrestle anymore.

Even if he did wrestle, one of two things would happen:
1. We'd be treated to a match that was extremely sub-par because Hogan's body simply can't take the pounding anymore. Hogan has a very bad back, he has bad knees and I know that he's had at least one hip replacement. While he was always a limited in-ring performer, it'd be only more so now.

2. We'd be treated to a match that saw Hulk Hogan endure potentially life altering injury. Hogan could hurt himself trying to do a move, twist his knee while being tossed to the outside, could take a good solid bump and just mess his back all up, etc. I know, I know that can happen to other guys as well, but most other guys in wrestling aren't as old as Hogan and don't have his health problems.

I don't want to see a bad wrestling match and I don't want to see a 55 year old man possibly become crippled for life.

The Hulk's legacy will never be hurt. I mean look at his kids and all the shit that he has went through over the last two or so years. Hulk Hogan is a legacy in himself and nothing that happens will take that away. I personally love seeing Hogan return when he does. I think that it is a sure-fire way to get someone over, by getting a rub from Hogan.

I doubt very much that Hogan will come back to wrestling and less so, the WWE. The schedule is too demanding and I don't think that he would be able to compete with the younger guys like Cena and Orton. However, I would love to see him inside the ring again in some form. That could be a host GM or just a random appearance from time to time. People love it and I mark out every time. I don't think it would ever be possible to tarnish the legacy that Hogan has built in wrestling, even if he is on Raw every week.

Eh, Hulk Hogan could walk into my house, shit on my dinner, smash my TV and perform sexual activities with my mother and then tell me every detail and I'd still be pleased to see him on TV, if I still had one after that cunt smashed it that is.

Anyway, no he can never return too much, not unless he was being silly and having one time only appearances at every RAW. He's the one and only Hulk Hogan, you'll never see that again, I'd be pleased at every opportunity.

Hulk can never come back too many times as an on screen personality. However, he can come back too many times as an active wrestler. Let's face it, if he continues, he's going to get hurt and that would just be sad. But we can never get enough Hulkamania!!!!

cool....thanks everyone for the responses...it feels nice to start a thread that just sparks a friendly discussion. I think I agree with you all.. hulk hogan is hulk hogan and after all he's done for this business he really has a place in it till the day he dies...or so it seems...here is another thing to think about...the other person involved in making this business what it is is Vince...he definitely has been on too much...the mr mcmahon character has been done and is boring, perhaps its because there is no stone cold, but vince should not appear on tv for years, if at all...do you think hulk appearing long term, particularly with the lack of big stars, will make you think less of him..just my opinon...thanks again
