Will Big E Langston suffer the same fate as Ezekiel Jackson

Dark Match Jobber
I feel like the both have alot of similarities (not just them be black XD). I am not just referring to Big Zekes injuries but towards the end of his appearances he was on a terrible losing streak. They are both power houses, zeke was intercontinental champion and then disappears of existence on raw and smackdown and ended up on NXT. Now Big E is fueding with Ryback but will his consistence on TV last. What do you guess think. In my honest opinion I like Big E mike skills or Ok his New Reporter bit with Dolph way back was pretty funny. What do you guys think

Big E. is infinitely better rounded than Zeke was, he has a unique personality and the mic skills to back it up so right away he is better off than Zeke was. Zeke had been used up to an extent and like most who have a push was in the down cycle so they could rebuild/repackage him. Had he been fit I could easily have seen he and Titus being the tag team rather than Darren Young.

Where Big E. will struggle is how to "change it up", so far while entertaining he is basically Carton Banks from the lost "Carlton does roids" episode of Fresh Prince ;)

If he goes moody he loses his USP and is just another big man, if he is too funny and affable he falls into the same trap Sheamus did... where the menace is gone and he becomes a joke. It's a fine line to tread and so far he's doing ok... but I think down the line he will need to become a different type of character, perhaps more snarky. There is gonna be room once Punk goes in July.

While the E will never go full "Nation" again, his attire is a nod (pun perhaps intended) to them, it would be interesting to see him, Titus, MVP and Ron Simmons in a new iteration of the Nation, perhaps a little less Black Panther-like however to fit PG.

You have to remember Zeke has had massive bad luck with injury, he would have been booked had he been fit. That he is still on the payroll says as much even if he was jobbing when he got hurt.

No. Not if he stays healthy. EJ's one big problem is that he was injured. A lot. Big E also has an infinite amount of charisma. EJ has some... but he just didn't connect with the crowd. A lot of the crowd is already behind Big E whether they know why they are or not. As soon as somebody can give the guy a decent feud, he will connect with everybody that's dumping on him right now. But staying healthy will be the big thing for him.

No he wont.Although Big Zeke wasnt a slouch in a the ring, Big E, in my opinion, is better.

He doesnt have necessarily a better look but he is better on the mic and is a naturally funny guy , if u follow his stuff from WWE's youtube channel and other intreviews. He's fast as fuck and explosive for a big dude and is a legit powerhouse, what more could u want.

At the same time,I do fear that even tho he has all this stuff going for him, WWE might at some point, like with many others, just book him badly cause of boredom and he becomes just another big guy on the roster.

I do think he is in need of an actual feud with some mic work back and forth and stuff.People cheer for him and he gets a good reactions and people notice and react to his explosiveness and are always in awww when he jumps over a dude.

Mb a feud with Sandow would work.Mb even with Ryback.Ryback for all the flack he gets I think is pretty decent on the mic, despite his annoying voice, which he cant do shit about.

I'm kinda glad Mark Henry's arm got "broken" by The Perfect Storm * Knuckles up fist like the weather man * cause I kinda didnt like having Mark in his corner, its just way to predictable.O here's a big black dude...lets have another big black dude cover his ass cause noone else wants to help him.Plus, I dont want him in a tag team at all, we have enough atm and they are all doing a good job.

But anyway, back to Zeke and E, as long as E doesnt do anything stupid or gets injured and if the WWE have at least a little bit planned for him he's gonna be fine.

And although I said no tag team for Big E, a Tag team with him,Titus for example ( as heels even ) would be awesome in my eyes. Too big bad ass guys just going through people. But that's just me dreaming cause I should be sleeping right about now. Good night.

Hell No Ezekial Jackson sucked in every way and Big E Langston is better at every thing than him. The only way that happens is if he gets hurt or in trouble for drugs but other than that if he does suffer the same fate then shame on WWE because Langston is a good talent and Ezekial Jackson was not.

Big E. Langston can work in the ring and is rather athletic.
Big E. Langston is rather charismatic and has already been in the ring with or across a number of stars like CM Punk, John Cena, etc...
Big E. Langston is a relatively young man.

Ezekiel Jackson is none of these things. As much as I like the guy, particularly in his TBK and ECW days, he's far more Ahmed Johnson than he is Langston. Right now, the former pretty much is looking golden. The latter's lucky if he gets brought back as part of a tag team or a heel bodyguard when his injury finally heals up.

I think Big E. will be fine. He hasn't got hurt and he seems to get a long with everybody. I'm hoping Ryback doesn't hurt him in a future match, seems like they're building towards a match up

Wow, Big E really is the new Ryback. Every time I turn around there's another thread on him.

Yes, he's going to wind up the same as Ezekiel Jackson. And Ryback. And Alex Riley. And every other guy in recent years that Vince has fallen in love with and shoved down the fans' throats despite them being completely talentless. Big E is awful in the ring, awful on the mic, has zero charisma, and is only temporarily over with the fans because he's being booked as an invincible superhero who can't possibly be beaten. Anyone can get over when they're pushed to be unstoppable. Big E is completely worthless and eventually WWE will realize their mistake, like they have with all the others in the same situation.

Big E is very talented n da ring. Great speed 4 a big man above average skill and decent on da mic. he needs a real good feud and a better finisher tho. Zeke was not very good however. if yo biggest move is a bodyslam then what does that say? Z would b lucky 2 come back and b a Mr. Hughes type bodyguard

I'm not a huge fan of Langston as I posted in another thread, I mean I think he can be a big deal but in no way has he proved it yet. Despite this, I don't think Langston will turn into Jackson. Big Zeke wasn't very good in the ring and was terrible on the microphone. Big Zekes best attribute was his intensity in the ring, he really got fans excited, just like Langston seems to be doing now. Langston isn't great in the ring by any means, he is just okay, but he is still much been then Jackson ever seemed to be. Langston also seems to have a genuine passion for the business, which is another thing Jackson has never really showed in the past. Unlike Jackson, I can at least see Langston hanging around the midcard for a long time to come.

I think Big E has a better chance as a face than as a heel; everything depends on the situations they put him in. He's no better on the mic than was Ezekiel, but he can accomplish what he needs to with deeds.....as long as the writers come up with good stuff. Of course, that's a generic statement since everyone needs good material to work with.

Big E has to interact with people; friends and foes alike. That requires a speaking ability Big E doesn't really have, yet he can make up for it with actions inside the ring and out.

I don't know exactly when WWE management decided to give up on Ezekiel Jackson. It doesn't appear they're saving him for the future; he's not suddenly going to develop a personality, is he? But he's still (apparently) on the payroll, so I'll presume they will use him in some capacity in the future.

The door is open for Big E, but he's in a position that what he gets to do depends on the writers and his opponents. So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing a lot more than I thought I would when Langston first came around.

Langston has a lot more going for him than Zeke did. While it's true that Big Zeke had a freakishly, heavily muscled build, he was a slow and sometimes clumsy sorta powerhouse. Langston is much more polished in the ring and considerably more athletic.

Big E. is also pretty charismatic, something that was MUCH more on display when he was in NXT than now. However, I think that has more to do with the sort of role that Vince wants him in. As I said in another Big E. thread yesterday, Vince sometimes likes for guys who have a certain look to be cast in more traditional roles. For instance, Big E. is a burly, thickly muscled powerlifter so he wants him in more of a role in which he's mostly a man of few words who runs through his opponents like shit through a goose. Even so, people are responding well to Langston and I think he MIGHT go really far if Vince decides to have him branch out as a character.
