Why was Apollo Crews called up?

Put me in the camp that WWE is racist...and Vince is the grand wizard. Take a look at the women's divison. Without a doubt, Sasha is the clear and away the best talent. However, Vince decides to put the belt on Charolette and lets that scrub keep the belt at WrestleMania. Yea...WWE is racist!

You see, that wouldn't bother me if they had Charlotte v Sasha going forward, with Sasha winning the belt later, after chasing it for a while (that way, when she wins it, it is a bigger deal).

However, Sasha is pushed to the background while they have Charlotte v Natalya. So, Sasha not only lost, she didn't even get another match for the WWE Title. That's what steams me! :wtf:

Oh get over it. They're saving Sasha - Charlotte for SummerSlam, where it will mean a bigger deal.

Some people have mentioned Apollo being under Cena's when he returns, that's not a bad idea. The other idea is a Tag Team just to build him up. Don't know who you would put him with, Neville?

Ditto, and Charlotte's title reign has been very "lackluster" to say the least. If Flair wasn't her daddy she would be just another nobody. It's really sad to see a major talent like Sasha being buried for washed up nobodies like Natalya, Paige, and Becky Lynch. I bet Vince will put the title on Becky before he puts it on Sasha.

So, they aren't following up on the Charlotte v Sasha feud until "Summerslam"? It seems that they will also have Roman Reigns v Triple H II at "Summerslam". If so, then "B" grade PPVs have never meant less, as they throw up meaningless feud to waste time until a major card like "Summerslam" comes around.

**and maybe I'm reading too much into this, but on Breaking Ground, Apollo said he wanted to meet expectations. Why not exceed those expectations?
On Breaking ground I remember Triple H talking about Crews in a car with someone and saying how talented Crews was and how much potential he had. One thing he said was that he was talking with Crews about different moves to add to his arsenal and Crew's response was "I didn't know we could do that". I've seen his matches before wwe, I've seen his matches in NXT, and I've yet to be impressed with his work in wwe as much as I was in the Indys. I feel like he's holding back, which isnt a good thing considering his lack of character.

I do feel like wwe did the right thing calling Crews up, if they have plans of pushing him. We've seen Crews get destroyed by Joe. Aries and Nakamura are faces, so honestly there wasn't much for him to do in NXT. At least now he can get use to the feel of thing and how things are done, and fans can slowly get to know Apollo Crews.

Don't need to repeat what has already been said about Crews and his character development. Though I do love the idea of Cena mentoring Crews. Can someone please get that idea to wwe!?

* Also let's not forget that Rusev and Ryback got over with their undefeated streaks in their debut year. It was how their streaks ended and how they were used afterwards that caused them to lose importance.

I don't think we ever see a Roman Reings vs Triple H ii.

I think when he comes back to desire a "Rematch" he invokes it by using one of the big returns... likely Rollins.

To basically get Rollins immediately back into the main event/title picture.

Actually the biggest difference between Crews and those four is at least 50 pounds and 4 inches of height. Crews isn't a "big guy." He's 6'1, 240lbs, which isn't anywhere near Lashley or Brock, so those comparisons are completely moot. He's stocky, sure, but not a traditional wrestling big guy by any means. Lashley comparisons are just ignorant, honestly.
Actually, Lashley is a very appropriate physical comparison for Crews. Lashley is only one or maybe two inches taller than Crews, and despite his blown up billed former WWE weight, Lashley is legitimately only a 245-250 pounder, as proven by his MMA weigh-ins. Meaning he is only about ten pounds heavier than Crews as well. And Crews has a comparably impressive physique. In fact Crews is an even bigger freak athlete than the admittedly scarily freakish Lashley. Basically Crews is Neville(another guy like Crews and Lashley with a limited mic presence) blown up to a six foot frame. The closest appropriation for Crews is a late 90s RVD, who stood six foot with an impressive 230-240 pound build, while possessing rare athletic gifts to accompany it(and lets not forget that while Rob oozed a certain amount of charisma, he too was often criticized for being a limited speaker).

For the short term, Crews' best chance to get established may be in a stable or tag team(for comparable instances, it worked for a young Rock in the Nation and has worked for Big E. in the New Day). As a random suggestion- perhaps eventually teaming a healthy Neville and Crews; both limited on the mic but freak flying/power combo guys with unreal athleticism and body control attached to heavily muscled physiques, might make some sense down the line if Crews hasn't found a niche by the time Neville heals up.

Funny, you were all raps for Charlotte when she was in NXT. Only when she went "up" do you now hate on her.

It strengthens my theory that you only pop for NXT talent while they remain NXT talent. Once they step up to the main shows, you turn on them like anyone else on the roster, because they are not "indy wrestlers" now (NXT is looked like an indy league, despite being part of the WWE (Roman Reigns is another example of this).
