Why Orton?

They need to decide what they're doing with Orton's character. He can be a rebellious face/tweener, but he needs to start giving some promos besides just saying he's going to do the RKO. When he just said he had no comment before the title match, it just made it that much more lackluster and not exciting when he won the title again.

Finally right before they cut the video as the show ended with him holding the belt, he started smiling, which is different from his character lately. I don't think even he knows how he's supposed to be playing his character yet. The crowd has just decided he's a face, and he's trying to adjust.

I'm surprised the Miz hasn't been discussed more in this thread. From the looks of things, WWE is going to use Orton's momentem to help get the Miz that last big push he needs to get completely over. Think about it...when The Miz almost cashed in on Sheamus, he was getting cheered by the crowd. The WWE has no interest in turning him face just yet so having him cash in on a heel is not what they want to do. Instead, they need him to cash in a major face that will set up a big rematch for a paperview. Although they are both on the rise, Miz vs. Sheamus or Miz vs. Barret for the WWE title is not going to headline ANY payperview just yet. A fued with The Miz (along with Alex Riley by his side) against Orton with Orton chasing the belt is MONEY!!!

Also, lets not forget that Triple H will be returning soon and IMO it will be at HIAC. He will some how cause Shaemus to lose which will set up the Triple H vs Shaemus fued. Cena is fueding with Barret. Jericho is about to take time off. Edge is more than likely going to smackdown. And the Miz will cash in on Orton setting up their fued!

I'm pretty glad Orton won the title to be honest. It means that the Nexus/Cena angle can go where it is going - hopefully somewhere good....

I think Orton needed another title run to develop a different type of side to his character? As a lot of people have said they found him boring this may be another chance for him to make sure people see him in a different light?

Also i don't think it would have been good for it to go to another heel - i.e Wade Barrett or the semi-heels Jerico or Edge as neither of them are true heels or faces at the moment, they are a bit blurred and you need a good heel vs face conflict at the moment.

I think the Orton and Shemus thing needs to come to an end and this way with Orton as Champion this can hopefully happen at HINAC.

Until HHH come back and maybe carry on his thing with Shemus, or if he's involed in something more I hope Orton has a long title run with a good run in with either Edge or Jerico?

Also - the guys who think that Wade Barrett should have won?? Really?? We've not seen a good quick rushed champion- everyone was moaning that Shemus won and was allowed to carry on for so long as Champ and he was way to fresh for me, then Swagger with the WH Belt - people were saying that it devalued the belts and how hard the guys have to work up the ladder to get it... I think it would have been such a bad thing to get WB to become Champ, he doesn't derve it. Yet.

Can Orton even be a face with his current gimmick?....I mean he has a heel like attitude still...maybe a tweener be best for him. Thats like if Stone Cold was a face, just would not be right for his character cause he not type to be a ass kissing superhero like character. And The Rock was a face starting out in his career and you see how that went. Orton is with his character best as either a tweener or a heel.

Agreeing with all the last posts, I also have to mention that it doesn't look good on him (as in appearance, or any other superstar than Edge or Cena for that matter).

The more I think about it I am happy Barrett didn't win the title. What exactly has Barrett done to warrant being the champ? They put the heavyweight belt on Swagger way too early. Sheamus is a 2 time champ already. Enough of these green champions.

Orton is the biggest thing in the wwe right now. Miz also has a lot of momentum going for him. It makes sense that they will eventually fued for the title.
