Why are they not pushing Kofi anymore?

Didnt you guys read the other thread in this forum: Its because he's black:lmao: Seriously though, they guy isnt being buried.Remember back in 2008 when Jeff wretled Orton at the RR and lost? Or him pinning HBK on RAW,but then losing to HHH in the Elimination Chamber at NWO? He wasnt being buried, but it was felt that the timing would be right because they had other pre-made plans regarding the title leading up to WM24.He was booked to win MITB,but well, we all know what happened next.

It's the same with Kofi. The fact that he was even part of a triple threat with Cena & Randy is a big push IMO.If he became champ now, they would have to clip his wings prematurely because its clear they already had plans regarding WM25.I do agree that a "rushed" Kofi as WWE champ beats Sheamus anyday, but at least this way, people will respect Kingston's reign more because it was an organic push into the title position.

Think about it? Everybody buys the Royal Rumble or buys a ticket to the Royal Rumble to see that's right you guessed it THE ROYAL RUMBLE!!!!!!! So saying that Sheamus Vs. Kofi wouldn't have put butts in the seats is irrelevant. I know I watch the Royal Rumble cause I love to see the actual Royal Rumble match! Especially sine this years Rumble is actually going to be a very star studded one. So you could have put Sheamus Vs. Santino and it wouldn't have mattered based on what the true point of the PPV is about. Even if Sheamus Vs. Kofi was a flop you still have Undertaker Vs. Rey Mysterio and THE ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH! Basically since Cena isn't facing Sheamus at the Rumble then pretty much everything now is just shaping up what Wrestlemania is going to be.

You make an interesting point here. The Rumble receives buys and sold out arenas (usually) because of the Rumble match itself.

This may of been an interesting time to put Kofi in a title match to test the water a bit and use it to continue both Kofi's program with Orton via interference and put over Sheamus. That being said he may be in the Rumble for a reason (or not) or they may be shifting the title to Orton.

Either that or WWE are worried that their gimmick laden PPV's last have caused the Rumble to lose it's novelty.

kofi did not lose badly or got squashed ;he lost after putting up a damn good show
he is a great talent and is still being pushed by wwe
him losing to orton does not mean that his push has been stalled
you will eventually see that kofi may either win the rumble and challenge orton for the title (when he wins hopefully at the rr) or he may cost orton the title at the rr making the rivalry more intense

Kofi's lack of a title shot might have less to do with kofi and more to do with Sheamus.

Sheamus isn't totaly over as a heel champ, he hasn't had a truly non-flukeish win over a top opponent.

- He beat Cena in a Tables match

-Squashed some Mid-carders

- Lost to Cena by DQ To retain his title.

Now he has a match against another heel Orton, and prehaps they are trying to give sheamus credibility so he dosen't Fizzle out and become nothing after his title run.

A match (and maybe even clean win) over a guy like gives some credibility to Sheamus and to whoever beats him for the title.

A title win vs Sheamus doesn't mean a whole lot YET. They are still building sheamus up at the same time they are building up kingston.

Not to mention milking this Kingston Vs Orton Fued, taking it slow, and allowing it to last will keep the IWC From Screaming how the fued is stale, boring and we want something new.

The Kofi- Randy fued is something they hit big on, and they don't want the well to dry up after only a few months.

It's more then JUST Balancing Kofi's Push, its keeping the fued with orton alive, Building sheamus's Credablity as champ ect. as well as trying to get kofi over as a main eventer.

I do not however see kingston waiting another 3-4 Years for his first title shot, all the pre-requisits for a new star are there, multiple runs with the Intercontinetal , and US Titles, a Tag-TEam championship, and is over-enough with the crowd. This is Kofi's big year, and his big shot. This year I think we will KNOW weather He will be a main -eventer in the WWE , or if he will just fizzle out

How is it that losing a match or two equates to the end of a push?

I mean, were all of you truly expecting Kofi - a guy who is only 3 months removed from the mid card - to continuously defeat a top heel and a regular WWE title contender in Orton? Especially when Orton has help?

Kingston needs to keep doing what he is doing - having good matches, try to avoid botches, get crowd reactions. He's young and clearly able. You all just need to be a little patient.

Why should Kofi be beating Orton continuously in the first place ? God, something is always wrong wrestling fans just love to complain about anything.

Kofi got some clean wins and a great rub from Orton nothing wrong with that he is now officially on the map.

What more do you expect ?

I reckon we avnt seen the last of this feud.
I predict Kofi will win the money in the bank match at Wrestlemania in which Randy Orton will win the main event and the title in a gruelling match only for Kofi to cash in after Ortons match. I predict he will leave Mania as champion having not even been booked for the main event and thus setting up an even better and deeper fued with Orton in which the PG era will end and a new attitude era begin.

Before Bragging Rights, Kofi Kingston was on the road to being a midcard afterthought for the rest of his career. One feud with Orton and a couple big wins and moments later and people are taking him seriously as a future main event prospect. That, if nothing, is progress. So tell me, what more do you want?

People have already started to invest emotionally in him, so there's no cause to mega-push him to see if he can get over. How about we let him gain heat and cred in the midcard before he gets a rocket stapped to him and he gets shoved down our throats in main event land? For goodness sake, his heat is already fragile when compared to real headliners like Cena and Hunter. Why put him in over his head right now before he's ready?

Also, where would you like him pushed? Mania's dance-card is filling up quickly and the plans for him don't look huge. I'm all for a push, but at the time you can only push him so far before people realize he's not realistically going to be hanging at the top of the card over the next few months.

Wow. That post was really disjointed.

I agree, in that kofi is not winning his matches with orton, but kofi is not in my mind a jobber.

I mean, sure he lost most of his latest matches but those matches against orton looked really good and it shows that he can hang up there with
some of the future legends of this buisness. he may not be completly there yet but give it a year or so and kofi will be a main eventer

also on the subject of kofi, he needs a change in Music so people will take him a bit more seriously as a big superstar, instead of this happy, carefree guy who won't hurt a fly

And what would you change his music to, that Generic Nu-Metal that everybody else has? Not every African-American wrestler has to change his music to get over.

There's so little left to say, that I'm not really sure I need to post. That being said, I think the Rumble has given a little more fodder to these arguments. Kofi Kingston came out towards the end, eliminated more people than Batista and Big Show, he got a big reaction and everything. He'll be in the elimination chamber and one of the favourites going into MITB. There is almost no reason to suppose that he will not be significantly further up the card in April 2010 than he was in 2009. Patience people. You don't beat Orton for no reason, but nor do you turn into a winning machine as soon as your on their way up.

It may just be me, but it seems like Kofi has been botching a lot of spots lately, he screwed a couple times earlier this week in his DQ win over big show, he screwed up in that match with Orton a couple weeks back, the one where Orton was yelling "stupid" at him.

I personally have never been that impressed with Kofi, and his "controlled Frenzy" type of style. maybe creative has been noticing the same thing.

I don't think Kofi's ready to win the World Title yet, but he's already won the other belts, so the best thing the office can do with him right now is keep him over with the fans and keep putting him in bouts with solid workers.

Kofi's push is not ending. It was just slowed down. Nobody wants it rushed so that it gets ruined. This way it will be a nice way of getting him in the main event. A few months ago people thought he was going to turn into a jobber but look what a few wins and losses has came to, people believe he could be a future main eventer and world champion. Now he had a pretty good showing in the Rumble and now is in the Elimination Chamber, he will probably last a while in the chamber then go onto Wrestlemania and win the briefcase. Patience is what is needed as he'll be in the main event but its going to take a bit of time.

i honestly see it as a slow push, plus the guy's humble as hell and gets props from main eventers like HHH and HBK, either MITB winner or later this year.
