Getting Noticed By Management
Cody Rhodes....I mean Dashing Cody Rhodes as been impressive with his new gimmick and although we have seen it done to death many times he makes it his own with the obnoxiously metrosexual things he does.....when will he get his push? Or who will he fight first in a meaningful feud.....Ziggler is the IC champ so that wont happen.....he needs to face someone relevant because if I recall he has never had a singles feud to date unless youre considering his dad and Randy back in 07...

He's getting his push now.....hence, the gimmick.

I don't think it will go very far; certainly not as far as shots at the world title. They'll have him facing tougher opposition than he has been and maybe he will even get a short reign as Intercontinental Champion. That should do it, though, as Cody isn't really that charismatic, nor does he have any other features that make him stand out.

He has a good look and a good work ethic, worthy of the push most of the wrestlers seem to get when they've been good soldiers and paid their dues.

Good luck, Cody......and despite your genetic make-up, thank you for not having the same body as your Dad.

Cody has the look and one hell of a work ethic, but his size KILLS him. He's just soo tiny when compared to the other up and comers. His mic skills (which I wouldn't personally call "skills") are average at best. I will root for him though. Dusty Rhodes was great and Goldust has always been fun to watch, but Cody...he just hasn't put on that great match yet or a match that we can all remember yet. A real solid feud with say Matt Hardy, MVP or Christian could go a long way. I just don't see much out of this "push" just yet.

Push,
His push is the Gimmick.
Good MIC skills,
Good In-Ring Work,
After the Kofi-Ziggler feud,
I see him facing whoever comes out on top,
Now he just needs to,
PUT ON SOME DAMN KNEE PADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Dashing' Cody Rhodes is one of the best things going on Smackdown in my opinion. I agree that I would like to see him enter a proper singles feud now that his new gimmick has been established. I think it's possible he could enter the IC Title scene right now as the Kofi/Dolph feud could use a new face, in fact a triple threat at Summerslam would be neat, if WWE could find a way to make this happen next week on Smackdown.

Nevertheless, I do see Rhodes holding the IC Title somewhere down the line and I could easily see him in the Smackdown main event scene, eventually. The improvements he has made to his mic work, promos, in ring work and overall look are impressive and I think we will eventually see some show-stealing matches from him once he has been firmly established on the brand.

This Dashing gimmick is his push, as to how far it will get him only time will tell. I think that it is a good gimmick and will probably put him into the IC title picture obviouly he cant right now as Ziggler is the champ and the WWE arent big on heel vs heel, maybe in the mean time he can fued with Hardy or Christian. I dont think this gimmick will be enough to get him into the main event scene though, it is good but not great.

I watch Smackdown for a few reasons and the main one is because of this guy...he is simply dashing..

His new gimmick is pushing him to new lengths, he just needs the right feud with the right wrestlers and he will have a title by no time..I don't mean the world titles, but mid card titles..they will push him further...He is definately someone to watch out for..

As for him getting the push he deserves, your looking at it..

"Dashing" Cody Rhodes has main event written all over him. Talk about owning a role and making a name for yourself, even though you could just easily sit back and live off your father's legacy (Cody has not done this). "Dashing" Cody Rhodes is hilarious, interesting and has bags of potential. The only thing I don't like is the entrance music "only smoke and mirrors" - too "emo" LOL.

With my screen name, it would of been blasphemy not to comment on this topic!
I love 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes gimmick, and I respect that he isn't trying to live off the names of Dustin and Dusty. He has gone in a completely different direction. Hopefully one that heads to main event.
I think realistically his next couple of feuds will be Matt Hardy and Kane.
It's basically booking 101 to have a rising superstar battle with Matt Hardy. That's just his role now.
And well Kane and Rhodes could have an interesting story. I would love to see Cody try give Kane a make-over. Only good TV can come from that! Or painfully bad. Either works.

But I still want my Cody and Dolph programme!

It's probably wrong to judge someone from a talk show, but after seeing Dolph on George Lopez Show, I can see him being face. He has more charisma than I initially thought.
This could lead to a face Dolph fighting heel Cody to see who is most dashingly perfect!

People really need to look at Cody correctly. He's a Tag Team wrestler gone solo. He and Dibiase are going solo and trying to make themselves heard and they're doing it in different ways.

Ted has taken up the mantle of his father, a storyline that isn't so popular with some but I like it. I think it makes sense, he's received his inheritance and he's flashing it like any young, good looking guy with sudden money would. He bagged himself a beauty and is a cocky SOB.

Cody has gone the opposite way. He's done nothing to compare him to either his father or his brother. It's a whole new gimmick and he'll need to build it from the ground up and Smackdown is the perfect place for him to do that.

The usual comparison for Tag Teams is 'Who's gonna be the Janetty?' Well, lets freshen that up. Who is gonna be the Miz?

To explain myself on that, The Miz was the guy who had the smaller role as part of his team with Morrison. Morrison was more established, had a world title to his name and was seen as many as the next Shawn Michaels. He had the look and the excitement. The Miz was a bit of a misfit, noone really knew how to take him and his look was awful. They kind of complimented each other though and together they became a pretty good double act but when the end arrived, we were all pretty certain that the Miz would fade as Morrison's star continued to rise.

How wrong we were. One year ago, The Miz set the wheels in motion. We were initially annoyed by him. He wasn't even taken seriously by Cena who he repeatedly called out and claimed victory over. After being beaten by Cena, despite a few slightly impressive showings he came back with a new look and new attitude and has just become one of the reasons to watch Monday Nights.

I see Cody taking on that role. He's only just begun and it's looking similar. If he can take this arrogance and add to it aggression he can be a viable threat over on Smackdown and we will soon be considering him as an upper-mid carder.
