Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan

Do I have everybody's attention now
Meet Cody Rhodes...

The third generation superstar, Legacy Member, Dashing and finally...

Deranged.

Cody was once Dashing. He had the looks and the skill and the charisma to be on top. He had a few bumps here and there, sure, but at the end of the day; Cody was taking names and looking dashing, while he did it.

Just look at that face:

That's dashing right there. So, that's Cody for you guys. After the Legacy breakup he was going to the top while DiBiase struggled with Golddust.

Until...

And then he became this...

After several months feuding with Mysterio, Cody Rhodes finally put Mysterio behind him and he now set his sights on this guy:

Daniel Bryan. Indie Legend. United States Chamption. Greatest Pure Wrestler we've got. You want a match? You watch DBD.

From humble beginnings, he emigrated from ROH to 1st season of NXT to Nexus from which he was cast out. Come Summerslam 2010 he was back with Cena and against Nexus.

A few weeks later Miz, his former mentor, became his arch rival, who he finally defeated and became the US champion. From there, he fought Sheamus in a losing battle that ended with him going to the Smackdown Brand which finally brings us to today.

For the past couple weeks, DBD has been a victim of a bitter Rhodes who lost against him and coupled with DiBiase have pursued Daniel Bryand and Sin Cara. Sin Cara got into the mix when he interfered in a beatdown on Bryan with Rhodes and DiBiase. On the June 10th edition, Sin Cara was the latest victim with DBD making the save:

So with the recent weeks in mind how would you rate DBD and Cody Rhodes?

Personally, I believe DBD is doing great since coming to Smackdown as he gets great pops and has a move that is considered "sinister" almost on par with Main Eventers. The WWE have done a good job of making the move deadly in the hands of Bryan. So far, nobody has NOT tapped (as in, the move not being watered down) to the crossface. If they do get out of it, they cheat and in that sense DBD is great.

So, thoughts?

Every week, I'll be doing a This Week feud in the division of Upper, Middle and Main Eventers. This one is the first.

It's a little early in this feud to make any sort of predictions as to where it will go, but I ultimately see Cody Rhodes going over. Daniel Bryan has been nowhere to be seen on Smackdown until just recently while Cody Rhodes has been sky rocketing to the top of the show.

I don't think the WWE is putting much thought into this feud, they just plan on letting these guys do what they do best. Cody will cut deranged promos and put on solid matches, and Daniel Bryan (who may or may not get much mic time) will put on solid matches.

Who should win this feud? Cody, by a long shot. While Daniel Bryan needs to establish some credibility to step up to a top face role on Smackdown, there's no guarantee that the WWE has him slated to be that guy. Cody, on the other hand, seems destined for great things on Smackdown, not the least of which is a title feud with Randy Orton. Going over Daniel Bryan and perhaps betraying Ted DiBiase would certainly put him on Randy Orton's to do list.

I find the feud interesting, but really just because two of my favorite guys are in it. Cody is my favorite heel in the WWE right now, and Daniel Bryan... well I am part of the IWC. Both guys have the ability to blow my mind whether on the mic or in the ring, so that alone warrants keeping a close eye on this feud. However, the random involvement of Ted DiBiase (who should just change his name to DB's bitch with the amount of time Daniel Bryan has beaten him) certainly takes away from the focus on the two featured wrestlers. It also doesn't seem to have much in the way of an interesting back story. As far as I understand, Cody Rhodes just attacked Bryan because he's crazy, so now both men have grudges against each other? It does the trick, sure, but it's not exactly the more intriguing story I've ever heard.

How will this Feud go?
-I imagine we've seen the in depth of this feud as I don't think any more will come from it. We will probably see Rhodes try and get the upper hand on DB only to fail and then lead to a PPV match which ends the feud. I'm thinking Capitol Punishment.

Who SHOULD win in this feud
-Cody Rhodes. Plain and simple really. Cody has been SD's brightest star since getting drafted over to the blue brand. Cody is a star on the rise and I think that is clear and Daniel Bryan is just there right now to give Cody something to do.

Who will win in this feud
-Again it is Cody Rhodes. Like I said before Cody is a star on the rise and he should go over as he clearly ranks above DB on the pecking order. Now I'm not saying Rhodes is better than DB as DB is one of the best in the ring in the E (hell he probably is the best), but Rhodes has more potential and more worth in terms of building a star.

Has the Feud interested you?
-It has interested me for the most part. I enjoy DB and Cody is probably one of my favorite guys going right now. As long as they don't drag it on, I think it will be alright.

Pros/Cons about the Feud
-The involvement of both Sin Cara and Ted DiBiase are the first things that sprung to mind in terms of cons. I see no need for either of them as it distracts from the main purpose of the feud. Again they are involved just to keep them fresh in our heads.

How will this Feud go?

I do not think that this feud will last long. I have pencilled in Cody as the winner of the MITB briefcase for the blue brand since about March and I do think that this prediction of mine will come true as there isn't anyone on Smackdown who is ready for such a big push.

I expect them to have a match at Capitol Punishment and then again on a Smackdown before Cody moves on to the MITB briefcase. Maybe you will see a few matches between them after Cody gets the briefcase.

Who SHOULD win in this feud?

Cody. He has been the star on the rise on Smackdown and has totally nailed it with his new character. It is just a matter of time before he steps into the main event. Bryan is much further back on the card as compared to Cody and a win for him here would not do much for him.

Who will win in this feud?

Again, most definately Cody. It makes sense and the management seems to like him more than Bryan.

Has the Feud interested you?

Well, partially it has. On one hand I know that Cody is going to win and the feud is going to be short but on the other hand both guys can really go in the ring and Daniel Bryan needed a program of sorts. So yes the feud has interested me but not to the level, say, Orton/ Christian or even Miz/ Riley has interested me.

Pros/Cons about the Feud

Not a lot of cons. I could say that their tag match on SD deserved more time and that anything involved with Sin Cara so far has mostly been a con but that would be nitpicking.

The pro have surely been Cody's promo on Bryan about him sitting in a ugly crowd and watching Cody win a world title.

How will this Feud go?
As was said in previous comments, I don't see the feud being anything asides from back and forth bouts where they ultimately steal the show, more so in my opinion due to Bryan as he's obviously the more talented wrestler. Cody will cut his promos claiming everyone is disfigured, he'll probably call Bryan disfigured, and with some hope Bryan will give him a quick stiff kick to the mask and actually give him something to complain about.

Who will win in this feud
Cody Rhodes. He's being pushed, Danielson in quite a stupid fashion, isn't, even though he has what it takes to be one of the most over babyfaces on the brand if given the right push. But WWE see something in Rhodes, and that'll be enough for him to go over on Danielson.

Who SHOULD win in this feud
Honestly, would Cody Rhodes really be hurt by losing to Danielson? Not really, while if Bryan were to defeat Cody it could start Bryan's own push, which would allow WWE to add to their babyface pool on the Smackdown brand, and it doesn't have many. I think Danielson should win the overall feud, as Rhodes losing wouldn't effect anything about his push.

Has the Feud interested you?
It's kind of too early to have an interest in it. The matches have been good, and the random interferences from Sin Cara have been interesting, I also like that DiBiase is now Rhodes' bitch. But asides from that, It'll have to be given some time before anything can be made from it.

Pros/Cons about the Feud
I don't really see any.

Additional Comments?
I'm not one of the really great supporters of Cody Rhodes. I can see that he's good at the gimmick and he's a fairly talented in-ring competitor, but I think he's being overly pushed. I respect Danielson more as I've watched ROH since '04, so I'm going to be supporting BD.

Could be the best feud in professional wrestling, won't be. Bryan will be fortunate to get any microphone time - contrary to popular belief, he is very, very capable - and Sin Cara and Ted DiBiase will waste time by respectively doing some flips and being generally a bit crap.

Bryan and Cody arguably have the best match of the night records of any two wrestlers on the roster. It's a shame the former is told to just walk out to the ring, point in the air and have a good match. Firing him didn't kill his heat (quite the opposite) but shit writing did. Cody's on the rise. After having brilliant matches with Rey Mysterio on two pay-per-views in a row, he was rewarded by not even having a match on the next.

Basically, what I'm dancing around is a competently written feud between the feud would be incredible. However, we'll be lucky to even have a singles match between them on pay-per-view.

How will this Feud go?
I seriously hope that this rivalry will include the Intercontinental Championship at some point.

Who will win in this feud?
Both will win. Both will improve and go more over.

Who SHOULD win in this feud?
Both should.

Has the Feud interested you?
Not yet, but if they add some more heat, it will.

Pros/Cons about the Feud?
Too early to tell.

How will this Feud go?

I haven't a clue. We probably have seen as much as we are going to see of a Cody vs. Daniel feud now that Ted and Sin Cara are in the picture. Usually when a singles competition goes tag, that's the end of it because WWE may be pushing more for a "Priceless" reunion even if they aren't exactly calling themselves that.

Who will win in this feud

Cody is going to win, if there is still a singles feud. If it goes to tag, could be anyone, because WWE is really wanting Sin Cara to be on the same level as Mysterio, and possibly before Wrestlemania comes around. So it can go either way and each man will still look good winning or not.

Who SHOULD win in this feud

Cody should win. He is the best heel on Smackdown, not including Christian. Orton will need someone the fans can boo and will draw that's not Mark Henry or Khali. Everything is just screaming "Future Contender" right now for the Undashing One. Can't say the same for Daniel Bryan.
Has the Feud interested you?

Meh. The feud itself hasn't really interested me, but the individuals have. Probably doesn't make sense, but there you are. I will watch Cody Rhodes degrate anyone with the paper bag gimmick, and if it just so happens that a guy that I like watching for his wrestling is involved, then it's a win win for me.

Pros/Cons about the Feud

Pro: Future Contender vs. Awesome Competitor. What's really not to love about what each of these individuals bring to the ring? Cody Rhodes is shining more than I ever thought possible, and ever since Bryan came back I've expected good things from him. Like I said it's a win win for me.

Con: The feud seems blurred now that Sin Cara and Ted Dibiase joined the fray, so I'm not really paying attention to it as much as I am paying attention to the chemistry between Rhodes and Dibiase.

Additional Comments?

I look forward to both of these men making something of themselves in the WWE, and hope they continue to stay on the same path of awesomeness.

I think this feud will be good for both guys. They need a chance to do some good promos to build anticipation for matches that could steal the show. I think it will last a PPV or two and that Rhodes will win it in the end. I would rather see Bryan win the feud but I think Rhodes will because he is being pushed harder and is on a roll right now. The pros are that they have the potential to steal the show with their matches and I bet the promos woud be good too. I see no major potential cons, which is also a good thing.
