I know that many of you remember two of the greatest movie maker of all time in Kevin Smith and the team at Broken Lizard. I mean look at how Broken Lizard brought us one of the funniest and most quoted movies of all time in Super Troopers. And who can forget the Kevin Smith reinvented movie making with the always funny Clerks before making such classics as Mallrats and Chasing Amy.

Of course, both of these film makers have come up with quite a few blanks in the box office with their later effort. For Broken Lizard, both Club Dread and Beerfest fell way below expectations and were complete flops. And for Kevin Smith he cranked out humor in classics like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma, and Clerks 2 and made what I think was a damned good movie in Jersey Girl. Unfortunately none of these equaled box office success.

So my question and the poll for it is this. Who will resurrect their career and have another hit first... Kevin Smith or Broken Lizard?

Kevin Smith, without a doubt in my mind. His next film, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, comes out in late October and stars Seth Rogen. Everything Rogen has touched so far has drew gold, and I don't expect this to be any different.

Also, Clerks 2 did pretty good numbers. It didn't break any records, but it passed it's budget by the second week of its released, and it did great on DVD sales, like all of Smith's movies.

Personally, broken lizard don't hold a candle to Kevin Smith. Broken Lizard are funny for what they are but c'mon, have they even had a bonified (sp?) hit? Super troopers was about as much of a hit as Clerks 2 was from a profit basis and Dogma didn't do too badly either. Where as (from a profit basis) Clerks and Chasing Amy were grand slams, easily out doing anything Broken Lizard has ever done.

Yeah, very true. But you DO have to admit that Super Troopers is one of the most quoted movies of all time. Not alot of people quote Clerks or Mallrats or Chasing Amy or even Clerks 2. Kevin Smith is complex and thinking man's comedy with a bit of raunch mixed in while Super Troopers and Beerfest were just raunch and good old fashioned endless laughs.

True, and Broken lizard do put out funny stuff but I don't hear them quoted to often, except for maybe the meow scene from Super Troopers. Out of all comedies though, I'd say Adam Sandler movies get quoted the most. It seems like everyone has seen all his movies and can often dictate all his films by verbatim.
