If Jericho was to come back at No Mercy to face Orton, I'd be deeply conflicted. I mean Orton needs the title this time, but a returning name like Jericho also needs to start off strong.

No he didn't, that was Vengeance, which took place in Dec., No Mercy he just faced Rock for the WCW title, and won with the use of some Steph interference and a steel chair

It would be great to see Jericho return at No Mercy and I hope it happens but until it happens and/or is confirmed I'm nor going to get my hopes up, I really hope they don't put Taker in the match and give him the title, simply cause I don't think WWE can handle the lost of another major star, especially one that they just got back

nah the person who will win it will be santitno jokes. Nah orton has to win it now even if y2j comes back i dont think they will throw it back onto him but i can see the possibility of the HHH vs Umaga match turn into a triple threat with orton or the game taking the title.

if they are only planning on making it a orton vs. somebody match i have three opponents that would fit. jericho, hbk or triple h seeing how triple h is already in a match and they make the title match a triple threat b/w hhh, umaga, and orton there would only be five matches unless they make some last minute decisions or bonus matches. So i could see it either being hbk or jericho hopefully. that would boost some ratings.

I think we are all agree in one thing: NOBODY wants to see Hornswoggle as champ, and Im talking seriously. Enough of silly jokes in WWE. If they are going to cover Cena absence with a joke as horsnwoggle, this could be a fatal blow to the WWE. I really dont know how much air is left in the Hornswoggle angle, but I expect to see a major twist in it.(Kennedy?)

I see 3 solids contenders for the title right now: Orton, Triple H and Mr Kennedy. Sadly, Kennedy chances of winning are less cause they want him in some sort of feud vs triple H before mania, which IMO is a good thing for both.

I really dont see anoynoe of the other brands jumping ship now, it would be lethal for them (if someone tells me "What happens id the Miz goes and win..." im red repping him...) Im talking about the rumours on Taker jumping ship. It would be the ultimate blow for SD no matter that Rey, batista and Khali are there, SD needs taker more than anything.

and no guys, no Jericho champ (for now..) it just wont fit (yet...) They need to test how well Jericho is in a ring right now, so I cant see Jericho as Champ for now, but instead just returning.

The card is already very small for a ppv, there not going to take out a match (HHH/Umaga) and make it a triple threat, when there is some top talent not getting used on the show. What i can see is the ppv opening up with an announcment by Vince that to determine Cena's replacement there going to have a multi brand OTTR Battle royale, with the winner getting a shot later in the night. It will mean they can use all the top stars not allready on use (Kennedy, Taker, The Hardys, MVP, Snitsky, Kane, Henry, Dreamer, Burke...the lost go's on), and get a clear contender from that (my guess would be Jeff Hardy). Hardy loses, but valantly, and it will help his push as a legit main eventer. Also, it will save having to rush the big YTJ return, which im sure the WWE will want to hold off as long as possible, as its a great angle.

I see Orton winning it.
i think he would have won anyway ahd Cena not been injured.
I think it will set up a Triple H/Orton feued that will end at royal rumble.
Triple H will take the title off Orton at the Rumble while Kennedy wins the Rumble and faces Triple H at Wrestlemainia.
This would be a great way to add heat to Kennedy while keeping Orton and Triple H in the big picture, these are the big guys on Raw right now.

is out, i was sick of seeing him week after week
well i would like Shawn Michaels to come back and claim what is hes the wwe championship
he hasent been champ in years and its his time
if triple hhh becomes champ we will be stuck with him for another 2 years as champ like they did last time he was champ
mr kenady would be ok but just ok not great,
i think they should put undertaker on th raw roster and he wons it
but vince wont do that
he dosent know what is good for the show

I 100% agree with you. Cena had the title to long but really who else deserved it hands down. You cant name 1 person. He was a sure bet. Now that he is gone. I dont think Orton wins it at No Mercy. I think a few people will be demanding it and out comes Vincent Kennedy McMahon and he either makes a battle royal for it later in the night at No Mercy or we have ourselves a Tournament for the title. I think if its a tournament that Orton will win it but if its a battle royal i reallly have no idea but it wont be Orton and whoever does win the title will then feud with Orton. HHH will continue his feud with Vince until HHH wins the Royal Rumble and takes on Orton at Wrestlemania.

You can't name someone else who deserved it because the WWE hasn't allowed anyone else to come close to what they've made Cena into. If they would give people a chance at being a top level face (which I think they will do with Cody Rhodes in about 3 years) then maybe there would be someone there to replace Cena when something unfortunate (but dear God was it necessary!) like this injury occurs. It's not that I wanted the guy to get injured its just that they needed to get him out of the lime light for awhile. But potentially? I think somebody like..*goes to browse the Raw roster* Well dang they got too many heels...but if they pushed Benjamin properly, gave him another major feud (like when he beat HHH several times at the start of his Raw exchange) and made him the silent type that goes out there and gets the job done then he could be made golden (no pun on his hair color there). Sadly I think they left him stagnate too long on the roster to ever let him become more than a mid carder, not even a high mid card. He could be like Malenko since he has great technical skills and hardly ever gets mic time...but another candidate might be in Booker. He needs to drop that King gimmick and maybe have an angle where he gets sick of Sharmell and goes out on his own. I'm sure if given enough exposure he could be a great face champ.

On the topic of who might be the new champion...I like the Vince idea but don't think it would happen. I can see Hornswaggle somehow getting the belt if only for a short term basis where they put over another heel besides Orton on that high calibur for beating up a high face.

And ain't it just funny how he's always on Raw yet his bio remains on the Smackdown side? Hehe.

You Cena Haters are all Tards, if say, HHH held the title for over a year, hell, if ANYONE, and i do MEAN ANYONE held the title for over a year, you'd be sick of him too, but i dont see what all the damn buzz over Orton is, he has ni respect for this business, the fans, or anyone for a matter of fact, i was at a show, i was sitting outside of the arena waiting for my ride home, i was wearing a DX shirt that HHH threw to me, and Randy Orton drives by and flipped me off!!! anyway, my point is, if anyone held the title for over a year, you'd hate them,

but to get back on topic, I think the Jeff Hardy is going to face Orton for the title, but he probly wont win it, i guess we'll have to wait and see on Sunday

I was a huge hater of John Cena and his seemingly endless streak as WWE Champ . But now that he's gone I have realized he was a pretty damn good champion ! Like it or not he has carried Raw on his back for the last 2 years and his injury is a huge blow to Vince . They should put the strap on old HBK its his time now !

I think it's gonna be orton as well, although i don't know how they get the belt on him and make it feal legite, since he never beat the champ. i've really enjoyed seeing orton chase the belt, i'd really like to see someone (Y2J) come in and steal the belt from under Orton, and have Orton chase that person.

If orton has to get the belt at No Mercy because they have no other choice, then please let him drop it once or twice before they give it to Triple H. I'd like to see Bobby Lashley get a shot with it, even if for just a month. I thought the match he had against Cena was good and was looking forward to seeing Lashley-Cena II. I guess we'll have to settle for Kennedy-Lashley II until then.

Oh, and for all you Cena haters out there, you can't deny the dude is a working machine! He HAS carried Raw for the longest time. Anyone and EVERYONE in WWE will agree with that. You know your doijng something right when even Triple H praises you, and he did that to Cena in the WWE magazine he was "guest editor" for, as well as the upcoming John Cena dvd. The guy is an amazing entertainer (notice i didn't say wrestler), and that's what WWE is all about.

What'd I'd really like to see happen is an Elimination Chamber match. That we it would give a bunch of guys who aren't on the card something to do. Plus it fills time because historically the EC match has been rather long. Hell, they could even throw in a Smackdown or ECW guy. Just to make it seem like History is being made. I'm not saying have them when, but, making it look like anyone has a chance would be cool. Then even if they don't put the strap on Orton he doesn't loose much steam. He could do the heel thing and claim that he should have been given the title because his true opponent didn't show ect.

Just an idea.

I don't know what it is but for some reason I don't see Orton getting the title. It just seems way too obvious! I think it could be a bit of a shock. Can't see it being Jericho either because if he came in on top the only way is down. I hope they don't just replace Cena in the last man standing match. Batel Royal or something??? With no build up the last man standing match would be pointless but I would love to see them take a bit of a risk even if its only short term

Something about having the WWE title represented by all that is good gets incredibly boring after a while, so i can see it either going to Orton, or to kennedy. (and if those 2 are in the match, i would have to think that it would be a bigger match, like a F4W or EC)

I think it's a bad idea to put it on a heel right now, not enough MAIN EVENT faces to chase a heel champ - HBK, LAshley, Cena all out - it's so bad Jim Duggan wrestled a flag match and Farooq is even wrestling part time.

So a face will probably take the gold and Orton will chase the face.
