creative has so much to work with right now that if they dont get something fascinating done, they need to get an all new team except for hayes or they need to completely get rid of storylines and make it wrestling again.

Now this is unrelated but someone made a Y2J comment. why can't he be back? this is the first time ive seen wrestlezone completely out a rumor without giving any evidence against it. Go to chrisjericho.com and search for his book tour dates. He CANCELLED up to the 7th and every monday after. I got a feeling someone asked him if the promo was about him on one of his stops, and someone inside who knows wrestlezone told someone to shoot down the rumor. Obviously this is liberal speculation but Chris Jericho can be back. CD_volume_4_1

i personally believe none of the superstars involved with the Signature Pharmacy scandal should be involved in the title picture at this time. they need as much attention to be drawn away from them, and putting the belt on one of them is gonna create more problems than WWE wants or needs right now.

llok orton was supose to be champ.but cena had to be stripped.i'll be glad if it was orton.bu then again that save us video kept thinking.it could either be y2j or hbk.i know someone will debut at no mercy.hell i think it might be edge. edge was suppose to comeback and he cud put the title on the line at survivor series thats why the got pictures of him on the survivor series poster.it wiil either edge,orton or y2j.

People i dont think:

HBK- Didn't he state he's in no rush to get back.. It would be pretty weak to have him come back and win the title right away

Jericho- So far word is he won't even be at No Mercy. Same with HBK.. Can't see it happening first match..

Hardy- He's the IC Champion and has been involved in some good matches.. I think him and Shelton can start a great feud.. Don't think he's WWE title material either.. Doesn't have that main event feel to him.. Keep him in IC and build on it with fast paced matches

Possible:
HHH- for the obvious reason but i really would not like him to get it then start squashing everyone in his path until cena is back

Orton- Has been on the verge of capturing it since Slam.. Best chance IMO

Kennedy- He was due for a push before the steroid scandal.

I hope they give it to someone that isn't invisible.. Start making things unique and start fresh.. This injury can be a blessing in disguise

Maybe I'm just going out on a limb here, but I would personally enjoy seeing a King of the Ring style tournament to crown a new champion. I read some mentions about the Elimination Chamber being used, but they already have a Punjabi Prison match scheduled. You wouldn't be able to hang both structures above the ring at the same time, so the Elimination Chamber is out, the way I see it. They can still do the Punjabi Prison match and Women's Championship match. Scratch the Rey vs. Finlay and Triple H vs. Umaga matches and put Trips and Rey in the tournament. Then, you add the other few guys who have been mentioned here and decide on 8 Superstars. Then, they go at it like a traditional KOR, but with the WWE Championship as the prize. But, remember folks, I'm just wishing here. The stale Battle Royal would be a huge letdown, in my opinion.

Im kind of happy this happened cause WWE has been putting and building John Cena like the greatest wrestler ever I have respect for him lately and less for WWE I saw this coming oh how I saw Undertaker, Edge, Mysterio, Shawn Michaels, Triple H(tho hes back) Main Eventers falling like flies.

But anyways back to the subject, I think as far as people who are on RAW before they try to move guys from other brands.

Orton yes I have been wanting him too for a while.

Umaga doubt after suspension

I can see a couple guys like Carlito and jeff hardy but WWE hasn't build them to there full potentional

Best idea is for whoever is coming back save us 222 doubt they would put the title on them so soon so the only guess is ORTON

Also, possibly a battle royale, maybe intepromotional as there is a lack of beleivible winners on Raw. There are alot of top guys like Morrisson,Taker, Henry,Kane etc who arent already on the ppv who could make this up, and it would be an easy way to bring a main eventer over from another show to make up for Cena's loss, as realistically there going to have to bring another face over as otherwise there is going to be a mark lack of top faces on Raw.

One idea would be to bring taker over and have him take the belt. It would help explain why he signilled for the belt on his return, and he could fill the gap left by Cena with ease. Also, management might want to break him and McCool up. If Henry vs Taker doesnt get announced i expect taker to take Cena's place.

They wont bring over Rey, they have to many plans over with him on smackdown.

They should use this oppurtuinty to really push some of the mid-carders, especially Kennedy. The last time the WWE had a situation like this, Stone Cold got injured and the rock became HUGE off it, and the same could happen with Kennedy if its done correctly.

Or how about Vince somehow winning the title and continuing his feud with HHH. That rivalry would be the WWE's biggest draw at the minuite and would really help the company out in its time of need.

IMO, i think The Undetaker is gonna go over to RAW, and get the long reign he so deserves, face Cena at mania, streak vs streak, win, hold it until say Summerslam next year, and then pass it on, retire, 16-0 at Wrestlemania, 6 Time World Champion, or maybe Jericho will return to FACE Orton, but Orton will win, or, HBK, or possibly HHH, its all up in the air.... but it should be exciting...

I think Randy Orton will become the WWE Champ at No Mercy. Cena has had a good title run for over a year but he was becoming stale and boring and as ECW fans would say Same Ol S*it.

So Let Orton become the new Champ and later on he could go on and feud with Kennedy, or who ever else but I agree HHH shouldn't get it back just yet, he just got back and wouldn't look good but i say Orton will be the New WWE Champ at No Mercy.

John Cena wont be back for wrestlemania, and you can hardly call John Cena's wrestlemania record a 'streak'.
I think taker will more than likely go over and take the gold, and plow through the heels on Raw, until Kennedy takes the strap off him, or maybe even Snitsky/Umaga. There are alot of good feuds for taker on raw.
BTW,i would love to have known the pre Cena injury plans. I wonder of he was already due to drop the belt on Sunday?

First off I am shocked that 20000 plus people voted for Val Venis. After that you think the WWE will start using him on the main show again. Maybe the next IC champ at least.

Now to the main topic.

First one canidate that no one has mentioned and I am definetly worried it will be VKM. I mean he knows he is basically the top heel in the company (sad but true as Kennedy is at best a tweener) I mean he id tarnish the ECW title for about 2 months this year. It woudl allow the continuing of the HHH Mcmahon feud although i dont know what it will do to Orton.

Other choices
Orton 1-1- odds on favorite which means eh probaly wont take it as WWE is trying to be less predicatble
2-1 HHH has the stroke to do it but I dont see it happening due to a VKM screwjob
4-1 Kennedy if they do it they officaly abort the bastard son angle but afte the way he was buried MON I dont know
5-1 Flair he wanted one last run maybe this will get him back in the ring
5-1 Taker He isnt that big of a draw on Smackdown as he appears what once a month
7-1 Morriosn they could promote him but in doing so will gut ECW
10-1 The returning superstar Lashley HBK or Jerciho

It will not be Rey they want him on Smackdown to help with the Hispanic demographic and they want to do the whole Austion McMahon v2.0 over there they arent screwing taht pooch

15-1 Kahli they gave him one title for crismes sake he dosent need another

Ya, scratch the Elimination Chamber Idea. I forgot about the Punjabi Prison (and honestly, who won't want to forget that match).

I actually really love the idea of a tournament for the title. I think title tournaments are amazing, but the WWE doesn't seem to like them. I thought Survivor Series 98 was a good pay per view.

Obviously it couldn't be done on 4 days notice. The WWE would love to hype that up and build up to it. I see no problem with having a 16 man tournament to determine a new champion, oh well.

I don't really want to see a new champ at No Mercy. Have Cena come out and drop the title, people will pay for that alone. They already have the Punjabi prison match, make tha the main event. It's better than the main event being somthing involving no one already planned out.

I think that the belt will probably wind up being around Orton's waist. But i wouldn't be surprised if Triple H won it. All in all, this is awesome though, but i do feel sorry for Cena to some extent. This also does wonders for Orton and Kennedy. First, Kennedy can say that he injured both Cena's and Lashley's shoulder and Orton can say that he ended the careers of HBK, RVD, Srg. Slaughtor, Dusty Rhodes, and now John Cena. Mostly good can come from this.

First of all, I doubt Orton was supposed to be champ. Maybe they planned on having him beat Cena but I highly doubt it. All signs were pointing to Cena winning and ending the fued. Especially in a Last Man Standing match, no chance Cena would lose that. You've clearly spent too much time talking to all the Cena haters in the IWC if you think Orton was going to win.

And second, NO WAY anyone is debuting at No Mercy. You think these videos are done after two weeks? Please, that's just silly. WWE doesn't do two weeks of building for stuff like this. Expect many more weeks of these videos and something (a debut or whatever) at Survivor Series...Cyber Sunday at the earliest.

Do you not realize how truely awesome it would be for him to be champion... just imagine Orton being teased about getting hit with a money shot... I mean the guy is better than Cena in the ring, and on the Mic is one of the greats in the comedic, memorable moments. From Ryan Shamrock, to RTC, to Chief Morely... he's had some real memorable times and I think he should have been in DX personally....

I say cenas injury is going to put a hamper on the WWE's brand extension. i would like nothing more that for the roster to become one again and get rid of all this thinning out crap b/c of injury. Anyhooo, on the topic of the title for raw, they could theoretically hold an 8 man tourney at no mercy. granted it would be rushed but hey that happens: They could have Orton, HHH, Umaga, Carlito, Kennedy, Hardy, Mysterio, and either HBK or Y2J. You have got to believe however that Wrestlemania this year is going to see HHH v. HBK (god we just havent seen enough of that garbage). This leads me back to my point of combining the roster. Then they wouldnt have to worry about carp ppv filler matches and we could see some new feuds.

I think it's safe to assume that no matter what the match is Sunday, Morrison will be involved.

I agree with you all. Thank god almighty we are free from John cena, but they really need a franchise guy, and orton is not really it.
Michaels, HHH, and/or Jericho could be the bounce back attraction they need, but Vince might just give the belt to himself and be the new antagonist.

Am I the only one who thinks this sucks and I mean BIG TIME ! But not because Im Pro Cena far from it. Do people not realize that by being stripped of the title, when the Dr of white ebonics returns this undoubtedly means everyone and their dog jobbing to John Cena whilst he tries to recapture the Wwe title that he only lost to fate. So basically, Wwe 2008 looks very much similar to 2007 but with Superman chasing the title, not wearing it. I can see it now - all The Game haterists on their hands and knees in unison praying for HHH to use his backstage lean, so that Vince doesnt go the de ja vu route.

As for who will win the Wwe title on sunday? Im going with Orton, although I would not be at all surprised to see the belt being draped over Umaga's shoulder.
