Ace, I really don't see them putting the belt on HHH til Wrestlemania.

Nor do I, but look at the options they've got. No Lashley, no HBK and now no Cena, they've got to manipulate things, which is why I listed H as a candidate. I've read somewhere that Edge should be back some time in December, so I agree that it is a long shot that it'll be him taking the gold.

Its highly unlikely that they'll have someone switch brands and win the WWE championship because they only have 3 credible people to do such: Edge, Undertaker, and Morrison. The first two are going to be in a great feud coming up and are the main guys on Smackdown so they won't do that, and Morrison isn't ready for the top title yet, plus they'd be putting a harpoon into ECW and killing it in one shot.

So that leaves the people on Raw, which leaves us HHH, Orton, Kennedy, and Umaga basically. There have been a lot of posts where people think HBK or Jericho will be back and win it, but remember, HBK isn't set to return yet and Jericho isn't confirmed but most reports are saying he'll be here at Cyber Sunday, NOT making a return at No Mercy. So there's the 4 you have.

Umaga: As someone mentioned before, you're not going to give the WWE title to someone who can't cut a promo. I'm sure they've learned their lesson with Khali's recent reign on Smackdown. Its much too obtrusive to have someone who can't speak English AND is an "unstoppable monster".

Kennedy: Though he has a good shot, I don't think they'll give it to him over Orton. If Kennedy gets it, he feuds with HHH and they're forced to rush that story rather than let it develop over a few months time. Check back around the Royal Rumble for Kennedy's time.

HHH: 40/60 shot almost, since he does have a match with Umaga that is still on. They could panic and put the belt on him, but that's boring and it will bury Orton.

Orton: Proximity roster, the tendency to switch championships with heel/face/heel/face, the fact that he's been built up to win, and the potential to have him drop it to HHH at around the same schedule where Kennedy will been boosted makes this a 95% chance in my book.

I'm nearly positive you'll see Orton as the new WWE champion come next Monday. Also, as for immediate feuds, I don't see Orton/Kennedy, because if they do that for the No Mercy main event, they'll clearly see that Kennedy is over with the crowd more so than Orton and will theoretically be the face of the match. Kennedy's cheered all over the place and booed pretty much only by Cena's girls and kids. If they were to have a Kennedy/Orton feud, they'd unwillingly turn Kennedy face and diminish their chances of having that HHH/Kennedy storyline down the road.

Also, interesting note, look at who we have for faces, in order of their position on the roster:

HHH - Jeff Hardy - Rhodes/Val Venis - Londrick - Simmons - Super Crazy - Hacksaw

So who is Orton going to feud with? You can't do it with Hardy because he has Shelton and Carlito to go through. Rhodes and Val Venis aren't going to main event a ppv, Londrick has no singles motivation, Simmons is just coming back and wouldn't be pushed like that, Super Crazy give me a break, and Hacksaw, you'd have to be insane. So who does that leave? HHH. Orton will be a transitional champion and 2 years down the line may win the title for a decent reign.

One more thing I wanna add.. Ric Flair, the return of a Four Horsemen group.. not so much an impossibility anymore, I think. I know noone else would care, but I think this is the perfect chance for Flair to win the Championship & go out on top. Reform the Horsemen, let it be a whole night coming together thing. Have 3 different wrestlers randomly start helping each other, & ultimately all 3 will help Ric Flair in the end. It'd be perfect, in my opinion.

I agree. It'd be not only something to bring people back to the plate, as any stable storyline involving Flair is pure GOLD... but would be a perfect way for the Nature Boy to go out on top...

Have him win it, then have the royal rumble match be for the title somehow after a series of mistake matches (like 1992's RR when Flair won the title)... which in itself would be a great storyline... only to have it be Kennedy and Flair as the final two. He acts like he is hugging flair and tossing himself out, only to toss out Flair and claim the title, finally turning into the heel he was meant to be. Flair gets "injured" and it leads to a Kennedy/HHH Wrestlemania, as HHH seeks revenge for his fallen friend and inducts him into the HOF.

Horsemen names:
Kennedy (becomes a AA type character, stays tweener till RR)
Harcore Holly
Cody Rhodes

Not only would this fill the gap but would futher many already leaked storyline plans.

Not exactly an IDEAL mix, but based on what we have and what's going on right now.... it's a thought. Feel free to throw in Val Venis in the place of any of them lol.

Who will be new champion? I'll give you a full list on who it should be.

1. The Undertaker - There are three legitimate reasons why Taker should be WWE champion:

A. His motion for the title doesn't have to be the World Heavyweight Title. With the star power on Smackdown and the abundance of heels on RAW, Taker is the best face to send to RAW to be champ. He was promised a long reign. Why not give him the title on the A show? I know it's better for editing to have Taker's appearances on a taped show, but they can pull it off. Besides, he's a former WWE champ and still in good shape, so it wouldn't be far-fetched.

B. The USA network told the WWE a few months ago to put more star power on RAW, guys like Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena and The Undertaker. Putting Taker on RAW would boost ratings for the show, seeing as how popular Taker has been over the years.

C. He's already feuded with Kennedy and Orton, but he still has guys like Umaga, Carlito, and of course, HHH himself. The Undertaker on RAW would bring a fresh set of feuds in, and re-visit feuds that worked. He's already beaten Mark Henry, Batista and The Great Khali. Why keep him facing them? Besides, when Edge returns, he can set his sight on Taker for Wrestlemania still, or take back the World Heavyweight Title. The possibilities are endless.

2. HHH - Maybe it is too soon, but I'd rather go with too soon than fresh off suspension. I would not put the belt on Kennedy or Umaga or anyone just off suspension because why reward them so soon after punishment for drugs? HHH wants the belt again so he's the logical choice to once again hold the belt. Plus, he already has a natural feud with McMahon, and one with Kennedy about to start up.

3. Edge - I'd bring him back sooner just for this. Edge becomes a three time WWE champion, and his fourth reign as the top guy. He already proved he was worthy of being WWE champion all through 2006. Why push him back to feuding with Batista, or possibly Mysterio? This is his kind of chance to be champion once again.

4. A tournament that goes into Survivor Series - Remember Survivor Series: Deadly Game? This was where The Rock won his first WWE title vs. Mankind after McMahon pulled off the title screw-job. Why not do it again? When a belt is vacated, what's wrong with a King of the Ring like tournament that lasts a few months for the vacant belt? Do you need to have a champion that quickly? Wouldn't Smackdown have been better to have a 20 man tournament that would last four weeks instead of a one and done Battle Royale just to fill a PPV slot? Ratings would definitely go up because people would tune in to see how the tournament progesses and see who will eventually win. There's a reason why the NFL is so popular.

5. Chris Jericho - Imagine this: Randy Orton waits in the ring at No Mercy, saying that since he was the #1 contender, he deserves the belt. Then, down walks Mr. Kennedy, saying that since he took out Cena, he deserves the belt. The Titan-tron goes nuts, and a voice says "I'm back." The lights go out, pyro goes off, out comes Jericho to a monster pop, saying that he will save us and the WWE title from "ass-clowns" like these, pointing to Orton and Kennedy. A triple threat match starts, won by Jericho making Orton tap out to the Liontamer\Walls of Jericho.

Like the WWE would EVER give the WWE title to a newly signed superstar, plus Vince thinks that Jericho was one of the worst WWE champions ever. Still, we can dream...

I don't see the need to Triple H to be champion for the 11th time...He is so popular and obtain so much glory in these days.

I think the new guys should be champions. It's my humble opinion. And i am a HHH fan.

A lot of you have some great ideas on who the new champ will be. Here's my thought. I don't think it will be Randy Orton because of his recent problems with management. Althought he's the ideal in-ring choice, he's not the ideal backstage choice. I think whoever faces Orton will win it and it could very well be the Undertaker. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Taker got a little help from some Sweet Chin Music from a returning HBK. This will build up Orton vs HBK at Survivor Series next month. I also like the idea of it being Y2J

HHH currently has 22% of the vote

Kennedy has 10%

and amazingly Val Venis has 45%

I Implore everyone here to go to WWE.com and vote for Val Venis...maybe WWE'll actually put him in the match

Think about it, Val Venis used to be a star....and he didn't start sucking or stop being over. WWE just decided that he never gets a push outside of the occaional jobber on RAW any more. He Works every HEAT before RAW because he know how to excite a crowd and he gets everyone in the live pumped for the big show (By big show i mean RAW not Paul Wight, in case someone stupid gets confused) Anyone who's been to a live show know that they've popped crazy for Venis...And they couldnt just have a squash with him and orton if they let him into the Main Event because that would bury the title like crazy and bury orton as champ, so he would at least put on an entertaining match......you know you want to, come on go vote for him

I would love to see Undertaker - Kennedy - Orton in a Triple Threat. Undertaker needs to go to Raw and maybe go back to the Prince of Darkness gimmick using the Attitude music (see WWE Volume 3 CD), that would be good stuff.

My guess is whatever the WWE was planning with the Save us 222 videos will be bumped up to No Mercy.

Vince said that History would be made and I like his track record on things like that. I hope and don't think he will dissapoint.

For some reason I think it HAS to be the Save Us 222 videos otherwise the WWE would announce who would be in the main event to increase buy rates. Such as HHH or the Undertaker or someone.

But the good news out of all of this is the WWE is making us guess again. Even with all the dirtsheet sites we have no idea what is going to happen.

Hopefully we won't all be disapointed.

I'm personally against Orton/Kennedy for No Mercy. I don't think either of those guys are ready for a main event type feud.

It's all a work. We all know that Cena has been scheduled for some time off to film WWE's next big blockbuster.<--(dripping with sarcasm) So, what better way to take the belt off of Cena without their biggest draw losing face (no pun intended) than to interject the old stand-by injury angle? As far as the recent save_us.222 vids; this reeks of Jericho as far as style is concerned. Also, the first video had the Oct. 7th date in it and ,if rumors can be believed, Jericho's new contract had guaranteed "World Championship Gold" in it. "Break the Walls Doooooown!"

i dont think its a bad thing not giving orton the belt, its predictable hes likely to get it now, and if he just got given it coz he was the number one contender then he wudent deserve it and people would say well he never actuall beat cena. i think a match between orton and kennedy would do be better, or if either edge, hbk, or jericho return throw any of them in to the mix for a triple threat. no mercy has the potential to be exciting because whoever gets the belt is taking the wwe into a new phase after a year of cena... i hope aswell that the spinner belt is eliminated.

Uh, it can't be a work. With all the scrutiny they are under, there is no way they would let one of their top performers, who isn't in trouble with the steroid scandal, go out by being injured. It just raises too many questions.

As far as the Undertaker, i'm all for him being the champ, on either brand. But, he'd have to wrestle more than once a month if he's gonna be on Raw. people will expect him to be on that show every week. i'm not sure taker wants to do that. I know he was scheduled for a long title reign on smakcdown before he got hurt, but i also didn't see him being on smackdown every single week either as champ. I just don't think raw fans would go for any less than Undertaker every week, wrestling too, not just promos.

I think the idea that Rey will jump is probablly right because like was said earlier they dont no what to do with him he's fighting the irish man who cant decide if he is a heel or a face.

I think they either bring Rey or Edge will come back onto Raw win the title Sunday. and when Lashley comes back they will have a feud resultinging in The belt being right where it belongs around the waist of the Dominator.

I then think Edge will jump and take the title leading to a triple threat match between The Animal The deadman and Edge for the title.

Explain how something is wrong if you were one of the first to vote which yesterday the pole went up and there isnt many people who had voted it would extremly easy for the poll to change a lot for one person please revise your thinking there.
