Who Should Get THE Push?

Loveless

A Life In Monochrome
And I don't mean out of the door with a "Wish you well".
I've been reading this forum for what seems like an age and when the topic of the next big thing comes up, it's always the same names but the general consensus is never clear or decisive. What I want is here is a definitive answer for who this forum sees as the next main man and I think the only way it can be done is with a vote of some kind.
So here it is, below are a list of the regular (and not-so-regular) names that constantly come up in this kind of discussion. I want you to pick your top 5, put them in order. I'll total the scores up in around 2 weeks and hopefully we'll have an answer. If there's anyone I've left by all means add them but if they're not on that list then it's not likely. Oh and anyone who was already won a main WWE is out, they've already made it.

Kennedy
MVP
Morrison
Miz
Kendrick
Swagger
Carlito
Matt Hardy
Ted Dibiase
Cody Rhodes
Kofi Kingston
Dolph Ziggler
Shelton Benjamin
R-Truth
Christian
Evan Bourne

On a side note, all this fucking midcard talent yet the IC and US belts still aren't worth shit.

1. Jack Swagger
2. MVP
3. Ted DiBiase
4. Christian
5. Evan Bourne

First, people are going to ask me, "What?! No Kennedy?!" Yes, you read that right, NO Kennedy. Kennedy has been given chances over and over again, and Fate is clearly decided not to let this man be pushed. All the injuries, all the switching brands, etc, will leave him to become nothing more than a mid-carder for the rest of his career.

Jack Swagger, meanwhile, is already making moves. He's definitely the top heel on ECW, obviously, and just watching his promos reminds me of Kurt Angle, circa 2000-2001. Swagger will be on RAW after the 2010 draft, and will be US champion on the RAW brand soon after (it'd be great to see the All-American-American carry the US title). From there on, it's nothing but greatness. His match with Cena was great, and he's turning heads towards his ECW title match against Christian at Backlash. Swagger's swagger will lead him to the top of the game.

MVP is one obvious choice to make it. Not much explanation is needed, honestly. He's got a great wrestling style IMO, and can put on a good show. Not to mention, his charisma and appearance help his case. To make the real move to the main event, he would have to be a face, as the MVP gimmick works only with face while moving into the title picture. It's fine for now, without a doubt, and he'll have to remain face to be the main event man.

DiBiase is the next Orton, provided he gets the right amount of work done for him. His first promo had me hooked, and I want to see this guy amount to something great. Not to mention, DiBiase Sr. has been on good terms with WWE so that definitely helps his cause.

Christian will get the push, with time. Right now he's bringing ratings to ECW and making Swagger look good. He's helping out that brand, and when his work is done, he will be moved to Smackdown likely to get his push. WWE recognizes that Christian has matured and become a great draw since he left, so they aren't going to waste the amount of talent he has.

Evan Bourne will get a push as well, similar to CM Punk's. He will win the MITB at some point, cash it in, and be the underdog story. In WWE, it is very unlikely that the current Evan Bourne gimmick will give him a push unless fueled by the MITB cash-in story. He's a huge draw, great wrestler. His height and build is the only thing keeping him from being main event right now. He'll succeed in the mid-card level for awhile, and eventually get the MITB road to the push.

1.Kennedy
This guy has "It". I don't care about the injuries or that he's a hypocrite. The crowd pop like a mofo when he turns up, his mic skills are outstanding and he gets the job done in the ring. He's the only guy on this list who I could confidently put the belt on right now.

2.Kendrick
He plays the sneaky little shit so well I could easily see him stealing the title and then keeping it by cheating at every possible turn.

3.Morrison
I kept switching him around with MVP but when it comes to who I'd rather watch in the ring, it's clear. It's been a while since he's been on his own so it'll be interesting to see how his mic skills have come on.

4.MVP
Could really do with being given more time in the ring but he's as solid as you like and the crowd seem to love him. I don't quite see it myself

5.Miz
I was going to vote with Dibiase but his recent burying has done him no favours. Miz on the other hand has improved beyond all expectations in every aspect. This guy might just have the personality to make it big.

1.Kennedy - Sure he's fragile but the WWE has kept him visual as to portray him like a vet that has been around for a while, and i believe if he stays in shae for at least a year he'll end up with the gold via in my opinion the best buil up for him winning the royal rumble. Wit Stone Cold officially finished look for him to Stone Cold it up a little.

2.MVP - Most wrestlers I've seen win the title in recent years just have a sense about them that they get it. I feel that with MVP it's all about how seriously he takes the business and I have a gut feeling he will be champ within 2 years. Best build up would be MITB or possibly long run with the US belt and a champ vs. champ story they havn't used that one in a while.

3.Christian - I guess it's all bout Vince with him reportedly not liking him. More acuratly I guess if he wins the ECW title at Backlash it will be a big test as well. He's a vet and build up would be something silly like a number one contenders match.

4.Carlito - Most underated. He may have to add a little Razor to his attitude, but i think a mad Carlito would elevate him to a new level. He is funny enough he could always go back at some point. I believe a King of the Ring would best suit him. Think about it, King Carltio now thats cool.

5.Santino Marella - For the life of me I do not know why he is never considered. His segments on RAW are some of the few moments I actually watch the TV. When a noticed him in the match at Wrestlemania and finally figured it out i was glued. It was hillarious. He can wrestle and his mike work is awesome. He's gonna be champ I guarantee it. I mean unless he does something really stupid. Imagine if Santina could seduce a intoxicated Vince or Shane after the Slammy awards or something.

I wanted to add a few vet names that i think if the right story could be created to suit them could also carry the strap.

1.Goldust - it's all about the story/character
2.Finley - Give him a real reason to fight

One notable mention as well i just thought of would be Festus he's a good big man and could possibly be recrested because i think the bell thing won't work for much longer, have him snap out of it and make him a crazy heel.

I would love to see Christian finally get to the main event picture, but on Raw or Smackdown. That's probably not going to happen for awhile, so give him the ECW Championship.

I really see something in Swagger. He has a great look. I think he needs different attire, but even his name stands out when you look at it or say it. His speech is getting better, I have noticed. I think it needs to be a long time before he gets to the main event picture on Raw or SD, but a good slow build up will be great. Hopefully he can have some good feuds in the next coming year with some bigger stars, like Cena did in 2003 & 2004 before winning the World Championship in 2005. But that is hard to do when your on ECW only.

Miz and Morrison looks to be on a path to success. I think Morrison isn't believable when he speaks. He sounds like he is reading off of a script behind the camera. Miz doesn't have that problem. He does need to come up with some better catch phrases though. If they can get over those two problems, they will be better.

Since I seen him on Velocity, I knew Kennedy was going to be great. I know we haven't seen him wrestle much. But if his heart is in the business, he will always be around no matter if the injuries cause him to retire from performing in the ring. Maybe a manager role or something a little bigger than that. Let's just hope it is not over for Kennedy.

1. morrison- one of the best in the ring, great mic skills, just needs to change his stupid ass character. i hear his music, fast forward button.

2. swagger- big, strong, fast, can put on a great match just about every time.

3. ted dibiase- all the talent in the world, improves every week, already getting a good push hanging around orton.

4. cody rhodes- pretty much the same thing as dibiase, although between the two, dibiase will go further faster in my opinion.

5. evan bourne- it's nice that ecw finally gave me a reason to tune in every week. i just wanna see what crazy thing air bourne will do next. with his unique abilities and big crowd pop, he'll probably receive a world title in their somewhere but will make a great upper mid card talent.

1. Christian- He's better on the stick than anyone else on your list and he did a great job representing TNA when he was there champion. The fans like him and he's good in the ring. It all makes sense.

2. Jack Swagger- He has the look, the amateur background, and a nice swagger to him (pun only somewhat intended.) This kid certainly has a bright future.

3. Mr. Kennedy- This guy would be a main eventer already if it weren't for the injuries. He has one of the best looks out of anyone on your list and has a real natural charisma. Staying healthy seems to be a problem for him, but if he can get everything worked out the guy is a stud.

4. MVP- He's a good wrestler, with good mic skills, and he always seems to be able to get a reaction out of the fans.

5. Cody Rhodes- Now I know a lot of you have Dibiasi ahead of Cody and I understand it. Dibiasi is a little bigger, maybe a little better in the ring too, but there's just something about Cody that I like. I think Cody seems to have a slight edge in cockiness and just seems a bit more of a prick which I like.

1. Christian-now in his second run in the company and after having a succesful run in tna and seeing wat he can rly do i think he is rdy, the ecw title will be a test but he will get the real prize in time.

2. John Morrison- wwe already split him and miz up and put him on smackdown with not that much starpower compared to raw probly to try him out to see what he can be like as one of the big guys on the show.

3. Shelton Benjamin- he has everything, idk y he hasnt gotten the push yet.

4. Matt Hardy- i think wwe is already making plans to give hardy the title at some point this year, if he keeps the heel thing going. he is well on his way to getting the title

5. Evan Bourne- he is one of the best wrestlers on ecw but the only thing i dont like about bourne is he size. the last and first wrestler to hold a major title was rey msyterio and that last only a couple of months and rey was only a lil bit bigger than bourne and since he lost the title he hasnt won it back yet. if Bourne was in Tna he would be the face of the X-Division and they would give him the title in 3-6 months after his first apperence with the company.

honerable mentions--
Mr. Kennedy- if he can stop getting injured and last more than a month without a injury, he almost got the push twice but he fucked up.

Jack Swagger-he is probly gonna stay on ecw for another year

Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase- they are with Orton now and are getting the rub from orton i suppose

Carlito- he is probly gonna be in the tag team division for a while much like Miz and Morrison, i think he is more than ready.

Jack Swagger: the guy's a great wrestler and is getting better. He's pretty good at getting heat and he actually has a "big time" presence.

Christian: He's already proven that he can be a main eventer. He's gold the mic and is more than solid in the ring.

MVP: I was sold on MVP at WM 23. This guy can do pretty much anything. He can talk, he can wrestle, and is just all around entertaining. The sky's the limit for MVP

John Morrison: One of the best performers they have. I don't really understand all the hate he gets for his mic work; I personally think it's fine and Morrison is actually very funny. He has a cool gimmick and is one of the more unique guys they have.

Mr. Kennedy: Solid in the ring, great on the mic, and everyone loves him. If he can stay healthy he could own the WWE.

I agree with Jack Swagger. I think the guy, in the ring, knows who he is. That is a big deal in the WWE. You can say that Cena, Austin (according to Shocky), and Hogan have limited movesets. But you know what? They know who they are. Brawlers should brawl. Fliers should fly. Technicians should technisize. Swagger's promos don't ignore his lisp, even he brings it up. He is intense, cocky, and talented. Sounds like a bigger, less funny Edge, or a less scary Randy Orton.

I also think that Christian deserves a run at the top. Edge needs to be involved in this program. Something tells me that the Hardy program is a practive run for an Edge and Christian program. Extreme rules, ladders, former partners, check...check....check.

I think MVP and Morrison are about to get theirs, so I am not going to put them on my list, but I agree that they deserve them for the same reasons mentioned.

Matt Hardy
Christian
Morrison
Evan Bourne
R-Truth

These guys, I think, are the people most likely to get a push, and who I want to get a push.

Matt Hardy, who some think will make it to the main event, or just completely fail, is on a run as of late. His new look and other factors make it clear that he is getting a push, and I see alot of potential in him.

Christian deserves to get off ECW, everybody knows that.. also he is clearly one of the only talented people on ECW.

Morrison is amazing. His match with Evan Bourne on ECW just impressed me. I already knew he was talented before, but that match just opened my eyes. He'll go far if he doesn't screw it up like he did before with the drug situation.

Evan Bourne is one of my favorite wrestlers. He does moves I've never seen anybody else do before. He'll definately go far, when he reaches that level.

R-Truth, I think he's talented and I think he deserves a push, but he hasn't really recieved any, except his feud with Benjamin. But eventually the WWE will recognize his potential.

1. MVP Solid in-ring worker and great charisma. He deserved his push last year but, this year he's ready for the main-event I think. I love when he's on the mic too.

2. Christian I really want to see how Christian does with the WWE/WHC title. Gets a good crowd reaction and love his moveset. Great mic skills.

3. Evan Bourne Great high-flyer and gets a nice pop from the crowd. Love his finisher and I haven't heard his mic skills well enough to judge that.

4.Kane Kane has been in the WWE for a long time and has never had a proper main-event reign. He sure has the character to keep you interested and he's got the mic skills too. I feel bad for Kane though. Stuck in a feud with Big Daddy V for months last year.

5.Kofi Kingston He proved he deserves it with his great work in the MITB match in WM 25 and has a great moveset. Definitely can keep a crowd pretty entertained and nice high-flying moves.

1. Christian-already has tons of respect from fans, mic skills are there, ring skill are there FOR SURE. He deserves it.
2. Kennedy-Mic skills are one of the best, in my opinion...a must for a world champion. Wrestling skills are good. (not on christians level yet, but he is still young.) Just seems like he belongs there.
3. Jack Swagger-Ya know, I don't know too much about the guy. But he really showed me that he has main event potential with that match against Cena a couple of weeks ago.
4. Ted Dibiase-This may be a year or 2 away, but I will bet 50 bucks that eventually the WWE will give him the strap. He is just a natural. Just looks like he belongs there. Needs some work on the mic, but he has the charisma to be good on it.
5. John Morrison-The guy has a LOT of ring talent. Needs, and deserves a good singles push. Thank GOD he dropped the Johnny Nitro gimmick. I think we will at least see him in the main event picture. I think Shawn will pass the torch to him at the next wrestlemania.

Morrison
Christian

These are the two I narrowed it down to. I know you want a definite answer, so I'll think about it now.

Morrison
Yes: Very gifted, charismatic, and has a great presence in the ring. He knows how to get it done, and can even make guys like the Miz into really good wrestlers. He's got the "look" and already is popular. People already think he's the next HBK, so why not?
No: He just came off a big tag title run. People might not believe he's ready. Also, he actually might not be ready. I think on Smackdown he'd be a great addition to the face main eventers, since it looks like Jeff might be leaving, and there's aren't a huge amount of faces left on Smackdown.

Christian
Yes: He's got the entire package, and has the past record of being a great talent. He is Captain Charisma, and we all know he can get the job done in the ring. His move set is decent and I think he can be a solid face or a mega heel in the business, depending on what they decide to do with him.
No: He's on ECW. He's fighting for the ECW title. This is a push, but not a push at the World Title. What it means, if he wins, is that he's going to be the champion for a while, and it's going to take a loss, and brand move, and another push to get him into a World Title picture.

So basically, it would take two pushes to get Christian into the main event, and Morrison might not be ready because he just got done being a Tag Team wizard. I think out of the both of them, Morrison will get the bigger push, but in a perfect world, I think Christian SHOULD get the big push. I would like to see him go to Smackdown and feud with Edge as a face. Then, after he loses to Edge, there could be a Triple Threat feud with CM Punk and Edge at a PPV. CM Punk could win the title, but on Smackdown the next week there would be an Edge/Jericho vs. Christian/CM Punk match, and Christian could turn on Punk and set up Edge to spear him... after that Christian could hit the Killswitch on Edge and challenge Punk to a World Title Match, and eventually win the title. I would love to see a heel vs. heel match with Edge vs. Christian.

1:mvp
2:morrison
3:cody rhodes
4:ted dibiase
5:carlito

mvp- mvp has been a great wrsetler since his debut, he deserves to get a HUGE push on raw and go on to challenge hhh, cena, leagacy, etc. and in the next couple of years shuld win the wwe title.

morrison-great wrestler, great athletisism, good on the mic, future world champ in my opinion.

cody rhodes- cody rhodes is a great wrestler and shuld get a push before dibiase, he was the one who was making a name for himself while ted was gone for over a month making a movie. in my opinion cody rhodes is a much more talented wrestler than ted dibiase.

1. morrison- one of the best in the ring, great mic skills, just needs to change his stupid ass character. i hear his music, fast forward button.

yeah all i hear is how great this guy is but everytime i see him and the bum ass fur on his boots and his cheesy glasses and hair i just cant look anymore..and i dont get it because i grew up an HBK fan and he's had some cheesy outfits in his day and hasnt always looked the "manliest"

but anyways i dont know who most of these guys are yet outside of what ive heard or saw randomly on youtube but i definitely like Kofi Kingston. the only thing is his angle cant really take him anywhere. if he refines that and gets the mic skills i think he's one to look out for, im still saying he should win King of the Ring and beging his reign as King Kofi and that would usher in his new angle that would ultimately catapult his name in the ranks..we'll see..

i dont like the Miz. i was a fan of his on real world and i think its hilarious he actually became a wrestler but i dunno. so far all ive seen of him is a bunch of out of breath botched moves with a lame looking more athletic tag partner

Morrison is set to be the next Rick Rude. Other wrestlers should wish they had it so well. The guy is amazing in the ring. He innovates, he sells, and is as capable of carrying a match as anyone on the roster.

My suggestion is that you stop watching the Real World, and watch some wrestling before posting. Morrison has been one of the best performers in the E for some time.
