Which Mid-Carder Would You Like To See Pushed To The Main Event Picture?

Dark Match Jobber
Out of all of the WWE mid-carders that are in the business today, which one would you most like to see be pushed into the World or WWE championship picture?

Tyson Kidd, I've seen a few of his matches on NXT and he's good in the ring. Not sure how he is on the microphone though but I'd like him to feud with D-Bryan.

Thanks for reading.

Insofar as winning a world title, Santino. Crowds would erupt at his victory and subsequent defenses.

Merely entering the title picture, it would be entertaining if Yoshi Tatsu challenged Sheamus after Wrestlemania.

If Ziggler and Rhodes are classified as mid-carders deinently them they are both great in the ring, young, charismatic and increasingly good on the mic they have the potential to carry the WWE for years to come.

If not then probably Alex-Riley, I'm aware he's not so much a mid-carder as a not on the carder but I can't fathom why. He showed potential during his run with and against the Miz and his breakout solo promo cut against the Miz really impressed me. WWE is in need of a good young face near the top if the card to balance the excess of extremely talented heels they possess I think Riley could be that guy.

I was gonna say a few fcw stars but i guess that wouldnt be fair so ill go with Kofi Kingston the guy has wat it takes and hes already done everything he can do in the mid-card and deserves to be in the main event

If he counts my first choice is Cody Rhodes. He is great in-ring wise and also good on the mic and has charisma in both categories. He has had the IC title for awhile now and has put in a lot of hard work he deserves it. Wade Barrett would be my second choice. I already assume that Ryder will get a lot of votes/picks here but my opinion on him is this....he DOES have some charisma on the mic I'll give him that and I have some respect for him taking the initiative and making a name for himself but he only has average wrestling skills. But his character in WWE is the main problem. He just seems so cheesy when he talks I don't know if it's that or the dialog he is given or both.

If we are counting Ziggler or Ryder as mid carders, thats my pick. If they dont count, im going with DiBiase. Somewhere in there, he has to have the charisma gene his dad did, so give him a shot to prove it.

It would be a large injustice to the fans, Santino and everyone else if Santino wasn't pushed into the Main Event at some point in the near future. He's so fucking entertaining its stupid. His matches, his promos, his character, all perfect.

Wade Barrett when he returns from injury better be pushed to the main event as quick as possible, he was on a roll before injury, and due to his injury the MITB match at WM28 was pulled. He's been at the top of his game for the past few months, and is better suited to step up than most other guys on the roster.

Cody Rhodes should be a main event champion within the next year or so. He's got all the tools needed, and there's honestly no reason the WWE shouldn't push him at this point.

Alright friends and scholars, ladies and gents, faces and heels… I suppose this’ll be the last one for Sleepy in this 24 hours before I settle in for some well deserved Matisyahu to lull me to DreamWorld. Of course with this thread and the limitless potential on today's roster it’d be impossible for me to pick just one so I’ll just go ahead and list a few of my hopefuls. Let’s kick the tires and light the fires on this thread…

David Otunga. Every day this guy impresses me. His segments with JL have been nothing short of genius, from his bow tie to his brainy legal counsel! You’ve seen his in ring work on the up & up lately, I don’t need to tell you guys that, but it’s after the match when he’s playing the crowd like a harpsichord from Hades that has me raving. Otunga can do no wrong as of late for this wrasslin fanatic.

“Big” Ezekiel Jackson. I expect to catch both sides of hell for this one. If you ask me, this guy is about 280 lbs of potential and I say so after watching The Big Show vs. the “Hall of Pain” curator Mark Henry last week. Those two giants need to show Zeke the ropes because this guy is just an ass kicking machine with a few loose gears. Important gears, albeit, but he’s one tough boy. Get this guy to the right starting point so he can figure it out and he’ll be snappin’ necks and cashin’ checks in no time.

Drew McIntire!!! This guy is potential wrapped in talent then deep fried in “Chosen One” gimmicky goodness. Just watch how naturally Drew moves in and around Stage One (the wrestling ring)… he makes me forget how hard the “wrestling psyche” can be for some performers to get into. I hope they get something going for this guy. It’s killing me.

The Milan Miracle, The Sicilian Snake Charmer, The Mighty Marella, “Santino Heat”… any of these nicknames working for you? Before the Lord calls my name, I’d like to see the look on Marella’s face as he holds the WWE Championship high in the air, streamers falling, trumpets blowing, with live opera performance to celebrate. Cheap plug: go check out “Foreign Exchange” on YouTube when you catch a second.

Those are just four (among many) but I figure y’all take care of the Barrett, Ziggler, Kingston, & Rhodes posts for me and I "thank you, friends", for that. Don’t forget to look both ways, go to church with your Grandma, take a multivitamin and until next time best regards, wrestling fans.

There are quite a few stars I'd love to see get a push into the main event scene.

First being Kofi Kingston because as a previous poster has said, he's done I think literally everything you can do at being in a mid card tier. He's been both US and Intercontinental champ, Tag champs obviously with Evan Bourne and not sure if people remember for a short time with CM Punk. A few years ago they seemed to start giving him a main push which seemed to be halted by Randy for some botched RKO segment, real shame too because he seemed to show some real promise in the promo department. He obviously has the in ring skill with his high flyer type of moveset and doesn't botch like a Sin Cara. I guess time will tell though.

I'll just say it but obviously Cody Rhodes but I'm sure he'll be in the main event scene if not later this year then sometime next year. He's one of those wrestlers who are being handled truly the right way, not being rushed or thrown down our throats. I remember him as a face with Hardcore Holly and the development of his character over the years. With time he will be a top star.

A third star I'm going to say after really thinking about it is Santino Marella. The guy is just massively over with the crowd it seems. I'm not sure if it's because he's been the commical jobber for years but he has shown at elimination chamber of one place and recent raws that he is much much more. Some might always see him ass a comedic jobber to the stars but I see something else that is there. He might not be a huge draw like Cena or CM Punk but it'd be funny as hell to see him going through a mic war with the likes of Jericho.

Finally and this is more of a personal thing but if he decides to come back to the ring, John Morrison because I thought he was pretty damn cool. Some obvious work in the promo department but with some character tweaking, I think he could be an IT star if he ever comes back to the WWE.

If they are mid carders , either rhodes or ziggler . Matches are entertaining , leaning more towards ziggler as his skills on the mic are better. He just needs to get rid of the whale

Theres two guys I see real potential in but sadly are given extremely bland gimmicks and with out reworking and a huge overhaul they will be midcarders until future endeavored. They also have been recently fueding.

1) Ted Dibiase. The dude is super talented and isn't that bad on the mic when actually given the chance. I really liked him as the new million dollar man but that was buried by the writers quickly and now hes so bland its ridiculous. The Dibiase Posse could be kinda cool added with the Million Dollar Man gimmick but alone it's just boring.

2) Hunico. He's a big dude but is still able to hit a lot of cruiser weight moves. This is a quality I really like to see because it allows some one to add something to a match that very little in the company can. Unfortunately his gimmick is just terrible and he isn't going to get any where with it. He really hasn't been able to cut a real promo yet so i cant critique this quality in him but his in match style is enough to at least get him over if he stops riding on the back of ghetto bikes down to the ring.

There's a midcard?

In all seriousness, Dolph Ziggler. The guy is a star. Best wrestler they have and is a lot better on the mic than he is given credit for since he barely gets to talk thanks to Vickie.

It's worth noting that in order for there to be a midcard, there needs to be main stays. Not everyone can (or should) be pushed into the main event like they were going from the minors to the majors. Ziggler and Rhodes are the only two "midcard" guys that are main event worthy to me. Guys like Kofi aren't serious main eventers to me, but are very serious players in the midcard, and should stay there.

yea everyones got great opinions. this is my first reply to a thread but i wanna say santino winning is my answer. he derserves it. now it makes things fresh i like fresh with not much talked bout the us title you can now say its in my head again. and so ic title also. thanks for reading everyone.

Drew McIntyre!

The potential this guy has if used correctly is sick. Turn the guy face, push him similar to what they did with Davey Boy Smith in the early 90's.. Give Scotland a superstar they can look up to. And keep him WELL away from that shitty flamboyant gimmick that's been rumoured for him.

The Miz. I'd like to see them re-brand him and give a paced and thorough push to repair the damage hes endured since February 2011. He is a hard working guy, a great wrestler and knows how to engage an audience. The sell job he did on Alex Reily last summer was excellent. used correctly - he could be a big main event star. Its a shame they are punishing him so severely for the R Truth mess up the other week.

I had no idea Yoshi Tatsu was still alive, let alone still with the WWE. That's amazing. This post made my day.

Santino would be a funny world champ, but that would be such a blow to the belt RIGHT NOW. If he has a really strong US title run, then maybe it'd be an all around good.

Well I am not to sure where Brodus Clay is ranked, but my pick would be Sin Cara when or if he returns, or either Alex Riley. I love watching his ring work and how he works with others.

I am going to have to say Ziggler and Rhodes too. The time is now for them. This is the future of the WWE. Guys like them will take over the top heel spots that Randy Orton held for so long.

I'm going with Jack Swagger. I think he has the look and the ability to hold his own again. He was still green the first time around. I know he doesnt have the mic skills now, but there have been people maintain superstar status that didnt have them either. Also his first time around he was feuding with Cena.
Other mention would be Ziggler, Kofi, and R-Truth, . I also would like to see Kane come backup to main eventer. Im sorry but I dont see the big deal with Wade Barrett. Not saying he isnt good or could be up there, I just dont see it. I mean he has been givin alot chances and nothing came of it. You can be great on the mic and in the ring but your going to have make people want to watch you.

For me it's gotta be Cody Rhodes. He's the only one who ticks all the boxes right now. I think Ziggler is the best in ring performer of the mid card guys, and he definately has the talent, but i think he needs to lose vickie and find his own voice before he can make that final step.

I like Swagger a lot, but I think the WWE has basically murdered him. He would have to undergo a serious character change to be believable as a threat to the top tier of performers.

I don't think it is impossible though and would love to see them do something with him. When he came up he looked like a megastar in the making and I think he still could be with the right look and program.

Let's run down the midcard:

Dolph Ziggler - already a low-level main eventer at this point. He's not going to headline a PPV but appears in TV main events and title matches.

Miz - same

R-Truth - same

Kofi Kingston - #1 hero of the midcard but I really don't see him going any higher. Too rough on the mic and can't get past his 'generic good guy' personality. And I'm not convinced a repackage is the answer. I think Kingston is what he is and he's very good at it.

Wade Barrett - man, he's so close but there's just something missing with Wade. Not sure what it is but he's not quite ready yet. When he returns I'd have him feud over a midcard title with someone like Truth or Kofi. See if he can do something memorable to prove he's really there.

Cody Rhodes
- Cody is the only guy in the midcard that I think is truly ready for prime time. Very assured on the mic and very creative - he's always coming up with interesting takes on his character and creative ways to attack opponents (LOVE the 'Big Show Wrestlemania Failures' angle)

Drew McIntyre - please. Drew needs to hold my interest in a midcard feud before even thinking about main eventing.

Ted Dibiase - Is he even a midcarder? See Drew McIntyre.

Jack Swagger - We see a LOT of complaints around here about bad booking and guys getting buried, but Swagger really, truly is a guy who was derailed by terrible booking decisions, and now gets buried and jobbed out the yin-yang. Swagger has a lot of skill and I'm glad he's still gamely paying his dues. There is a LOT of potential in Swagger between his size, his athletic ability, and that irritating, punchable face. BORN heel, in fact he's one of only a handful of guys on the roster I can't ever imagine as a face. I still believe in Swagger but it's a long road back from where he is now.

Ezekiel Jackson - I would have booked him as an unstoppable heel, but that ship has LONG sailed. Don't know why they waste a one-in-a-million physique like Zeke's, but I suppose his severe in-ring and mic limitations have something to do with it.

Hunico - just got here.

Jinder Mahal - yeesh.

So really only one guy, Rhodes, that I think is ready for a main event push at the moment.

I will post a top 10 here. Oh and by the way I will not include Ziggler or Swagger as they are both former champs. Yes I know Zigglers reign was BS, but he was in the title match at Rumble, so he is def in the upper Main Event

ok top 10:

10.) Derek Bateman - I like this guy on the mic and his wrestling skills aren't to bad either

9.) Titus O'Neill - Vinny likes his big men

8.) Mason Ryan - He;s Bautista Jr.

7. Sin Cara - I like a botch artist as champ... makes me laugh

6.) Cody Rhodes - I love this guy, and he is the future, but I like 5 guys before him

5.) Justin Gabriel - why was his mini feud with Rhodes nixed... he should be the one to strip Cody of the title

4.) Zack Ryder - I don't know why but he is appealing

3.) Wade barrett - I am a member of the Barrett Barrage

2.) David Otunga - This kid is for real, just give him a chance

1.) Santino - I don't care if its for an hour, day , week, month, year or lifetime, he deserves a Mainevent shot, he is the most entertaining character on WWE Tv give him a chance

1.Cody Rhodes- I was never a fan of his and I hated the " Dashing" Cody Rhodes gimmick but when he developed the masked Persona I became a fan and he proved he could one day become a future WWE or World Champion.

2. R Truth- I hated his What's Up gimmick, but ever since he has started this little Jimmy thing I have become a fan.I don't think he will ever be a multiple time WWE champion, but I would love to see him carry the belt a least once.I know alot of people mention that is a little old.But I don't think that matters consdering you had Hulk Hogan, Triple H, The Undertaker and others winning titles after the age of 40 and Booker T won his first WWE world title when he was about 41 years old.

3.Dolph Ziggler-Dolph looks like a main event heel and I think in 2-3 years he will be a top heel in the company.
