What if they have no interest in the matches in the humans bracket? This could actually deter people from participating in the tournament.

Also I see plenty of people have voted without giving reasons in many matches including that one. Why not give red rep to all of them instead of just that match and for that competitor? I know I am looking forward to mine.

I was kidding, it'd be a right pain in the ass to go through all the polls and try and remember who voted and when. The thing's supposed to be fun, for everyone, and crawling through forty names in order to give people a five pixel red block on their user CP screen doesn't sound particularly fun to me.
