When You Watch WWE Programming, Who's The One Guy You Can't Miss?

Personally, for me, it comes down to two different guys for two different reasons.

Santino Marella and Alberto del Rio.

They just have the ability to entertain me. In the ring, out of the ring. Both have incredible charisma, great on the stick and carry themselves well with the character.

del Rio is obviously to be taken serious, in terms of the overall landscape of the storylines. I can see this guy making a great world champion within a year, and I'm not in favor of rushing things, usually. He just has whatever a champion should have.

He has it, and then some.

What about you guys?

Right now, even though I'm a huge Edge-Head, would have to go with Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler. Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler right now are incredibly entertaining in any match they are in. Ziggler is carrying the mid card division over on Smackdown while Bryan is carrying the mid carders on RAW. These two guys can make anyone look good.

Dolph has been really stepping his game up holding that Intercontinental Championship for five or six months. He's beaten guys like Kaval, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston and feuded with others like Daniel Bryan and recently, John Cena. There is very little doubt Dolph could possily ready for the main event scene on Smackdown. This guy is someone I can't miss on Smackdown.

Daniel Bryan is a given. His matches are all full force and he can really go hard. Bryan has the potental to carry a lot of the sloppier guys on the roster. "Bryan vs. ________ will be a dream match" gets thrown around here a lot and I'm not complaining. He's another can't miss for me. Dolph and Daniel are guys I can't stand to be without.

Your choices are very good ones. Both Santino & Del Rio are very entertaining. I would add Daniel Bryan based on the quality of his in-ring work. But my #1 choice would probably be CM Punk. He's outstanding as an announcer, he's a very good wrestler, & I can't wait to see where his feud with Cena is going. Why is he attacking Cena? This is the one thing I want addressed on RAW in the very near future. The only negative is that he's likely done as an announcer, which is a shame, b/c Cole & Lawler aren't up to calling the WWE's #1 show on their own.

I'd go with Santino, Albert Del Rio, and Cm Punk.

Obviously, Santino entertains me, with the Cobra an other shenanigans with Kozlov and Tamina..

Alberto as well, when he comes out honking his car horns, I can't help but smile, especially when he interrupted Kanes dark, evil promo some weeks back..

And Punk's commentary has impressed me, intrigued more interest, and breathed more life into his character I believe..

 

[The Mainstream]

Anyone who has an amateur style background(Swagger, Dolph, etc,.) usually helps me keep my eyes glued to the TV; usually makes for competitive/entertaining matches full of reversals and submissions that would keep you in suspense(sometimes). Other than that though, overall, I would also have to go with Cody Rhodes. Everything from his subtle promo work to his in-ring work I find genuinely entertaining, I cringe every time he hits his "Beautiful Disaster".

And specifically comedy wise, Santino. Broken English is just funny for some reason...

For a long time now I always tuned into Smackdown to see Kaval finally get the elusive clean win. Even though he jobber week in and week out, I held onto the belief that this was all part of his push. Needless to say, you can only imagine how let down and bummed out I was when I heard about his release. Alberto Del Rio has also grown on me quite a bit since his debut. His mic skills and overall stage presence just has my eyes glued to the screen whenever he comes out. Not to mention that I really like his entrance theme a lot. Quite catchy if I do say so myself.

Simple Daniel Bryan.

It is such a pleasure to look forward to someone wrestling. So many times I find myself so apathetic to most matches, and even change the channel during other (any john cena match). But i look forward to seeing the 5 minutes of Bryan on Raw, and I can't wait to get the DVD of his PPV matches.

I think we are all pretty honored to be able to watch him, and should be grateful that he came to the WWE.

Every match, he creates this great sense of realism. Each action seems to have an intensity to it. He sells wonderful. His arsenal is so entertaining. I enjoy it so much.

Secondly, would be CM Punk. I love the character, i love his matches- Another person who has had success of talent and hard-work. And i appreciate that Punk frequently keeps both his character and apparence fresh... changing so he doesn't get stale. (take notes Cena)

I would say CM Punk but now that he's on the entire show behind the table I guess I don't make much of an effort not to miss him. So that narrows it down to not wanting to miss Santino for his promos, and generally always paying a bit more attention when Sheamus is involved. Not that they really give him anything too interesting to be a part of, he's just one of my favorites on the roster right now.

I will be the first to say John Cena.

Being in the main event has it's advantages, most of it being that you're always going to have good material and be in feuds and matches with good talent. John Cena has done everything to deserve these advantages, being the best promo-man in WWE today, and putting on some pretty terrific matches, two things that he does week in and week out.

Look at this year alone,

Feud with Batista? Good.
Original Feud with Nexus where WWE comes out on top? Awesome.
Cena joins Nexus? Amazing.
Cena gets fired? Cena was great in it despite the fact the feud was botched.
Cena returns? Some of the best work I've ever seen Cena do.

Now haters are going to hate, which is all the more reason John Cena is one of the most impressive superstars. He thrives in this hostile work environment and manages to put out A+ work every time he's out there.

John Cena is the one guy that I cannot miss.

For some reason I am the hugest mark for Christian and Drew Mcintyre. but when it comes to ability and techinal wrestling, CM Punk. Ziggy and Jack Swagger are the reasons I watch matches.
But with Christian injured and Drew being downgraded to a creep that hits on Kelly Kelly, its hard for me to pay attention to anything but Swagger and Punk. They're 2 guys with incredible talent and Swagger has really improved on the mic. Nowhere near Punks skills of course, but its got to be difficult to be taken seriously when hes mocked for his speech impediment.

Bryan puts on great matches, he he can't talk worth shit and its annoying watching his goofy faces.

It really seemed Dolph carried Cena is the 2 matches this week. I've seen Cena do a suplex one time.

 

[Attitude]

I'm going to be the first to go old school. The guy that kept me watching wrestling and I could never miss was Stone Cold Steve Austin. I couldn't miss him at all. He was my absolute favorite wrestler. He made it so exciting. It sounds cliche now but the whole flicking off your boss, drinking beer on the job, and being an absolute rebel was just absolutely great. Plus he could put on 5 star matches with The Rock, The Undertaker, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and even Vince McMahon(I might get bashed for saying this one).

Today it's to on and off. One minute I enjoy it and then the next I don't. I haven't actually sat down to watch a full WWE program since 2008. And even then it was on and off. 2009 I kept up enough on the internet to know what was going on. This year (2010) a few things kept me interested like the Old School Raw and when Austin hosted Raw or when Bret Hart returned. But not really that interested.

However I will say the one and probably only guy that I kept interested in was Batista. He was like a mixture of the Ultimate Warrior and Goldberg. It was awesome watching him.

Raw- CM Punk, Santino, and Daniel Bryan.

All for 3 different reasons. CM Punks commentary is awesome. "He stole my car! Twice!"
Santino is the best funny man in the business- and he does amazingly well for PG programming. And ofcourse, I cannot miss a Daniel Bryan Danielson match. That man is a wrestling machine- and the little thing with the Bellas is just...cool.

Smackdown is a little harder to watch. There are certain guys I don't want to miss, but they get so little exposure that missing them doesn't mean much.

Edge is the only one really- for obvious reasons.

Mcintyre and Rhodes would be my reasons to watch- if they were pushed any.

 

[Papi Chulo]

Well until very recently it was Kaval. He was losing but he was on tv every week and his matches were good. Every time he would do something I've never seen before and some things I didn't even think were possible. I'm guessing they'll bring him back eventually.

Also have to go with Cm Punk. His personality is just so unique. Daniel Bryan matches are great. Love me some Christain. JoMo climbing the ladder is good. Cant get enough of Sheamus. Big Show is always entertaining. And I truly love love the old school guys like Regal and Goldust.

Oh yeah and someone said on here, like its a fact, that Cena is the best on the mic! He is awful!! Some annoying smiley jacked up guy STILL dressed up as a wigger with his horrible corny jokes.

For me, there's three:

John Cena
This guy is the face of the WWE, and thus, the face of wrestling. He's the single biggest star to come out of wrestling since The Rock and Stone Cold; he's always involved in the top and most entertaining feuds (Cena vs. Nexus has been one of the most entertaining parts of Monday Night Raw for the the last few months), he is the most charasmatic superstar in years and he cuts amazing promos (his ggoodbye promo: one of the best ever), and he puts on great matches on a regular basis. He's simple the best. If you're not watching John Cena, your missing out something important.

The Miz
This guy is just so entertaining. He plays the PERFECT cocky heel; not only do average fans want him to get beaten to a pulp, but so do members of the IWC. He's fresh, charasmatic, young, and overall exciting. The typical Miz segment is usually pretty unusual and out there (arguing with Pee Wee Herman, reenacting A Christmas Carol) but he makes it work. I have no idea what he's gonna do next.

CM Punk
This guy is gold on the mic. So arrogant, so confident, so perfect. The entire IWC pretty much adores him, and it's easy to see why. His recent run as a commentator has put him back on track and the sky's the limit for Punk now. Always gets good heat, feuding with wrestling's biggest star, incredibly charasmatic, good worker. He has everything.

Well until very recently it was Kaval. He was losing but he was on tv every week and his matches were good. Every time he would do something I've never seen before and some things I didn't even think were possible. I'm guessing they'll bring him back eventually.

What? Kaval was shit. To say that he was a must see superstar is laughable. He was a glorified jobber, hell, he wasn't glorified. Sure he pulled off an interesting move every now and again, but he barely got a reaction from the crowd after NXT. An indie background and an interesting moveset doesn't make a superstar.

Oh yeah and someone said on here, like its a fact, that Cena is the best on the mic! He is awful!! Some annoying smiley jacked up guy STILL dressed up as a wigger with his horrible corny jokes.

Hahahaha. It is a fact, John Cena is the best on the mic. The emotion he can put into a promo (just look at his goodbye promo) is unrivaled by anyone else in the company. The agression, the disappointment, the happiness; John Cena can portray it perfectly. You don't like Cena because it's not cool to like Cena, not because of his mic skills. You're stupid.

for raw orton, always make sure i watch when hes on. i also enjoy watching cm punk. smackdown i dont really like at all but there is one person i watch it for. alberto del rio, hes has been great ever since he came to the wwe.

When The Rock & Stone Cold were there I used to watch all the time. I'm a SMACKDOWN girl so I watch SD faithfully & I can't miss KOFI at all & when Jericho was still on RAW I couldn't miss him either. I know they're saying Miz is Must See TV.... no Kofi is.

In no particular order, I would have to go with Cena, Del Rio, Santino, CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, and Randy Orton. Whether you like them or not, ALL of them have tremendous charisma and exceptional (or better) abilities in the ring.

 

[Undertaker the 5th]

On Raw I like to watch John Cena, CM Punk, Shaemus and John Morrison.
I like Cena because his matches are full of crowd exitement unlike some other wrestlers who only get the entrance pop and that is it.
CM Punk is my favorite wrestler currently and I like to watch him because he is just too good at what he does IMO. He is good on the mic and on the ring.
I like to watch Shaemus because I think he is entertaining. He is good on the mic and good on the ring at least to me.
John Morrison because he is a high flyer with a decent size. I usually I am not one to like high flyers, but that is because they are usually very small like Rey Mysterio, but Morrison has a good look to him and is entertaining to the eye.

On Smackdown I do not really watch, but I do keep track of what Ziggler and Del Rio do.
Ziggler because he has been on a championship roll with his title and he is very good on the ring. Plus I like his looks.
Alberto Del Rio because he is mexican and I am being patriotic. Great gimmick, awesome looks. Only thing he needs is some knee pads, but at least he does not look as bad as Cody Rhodes.

I think it's pretty obvious who I tune in to see every week, as evidenced by my sig. Anyways, here they are:

Kofi Kingston: This guy just gets wrestling. I've been a fan of the guy since his WWECW days, but when he wrecked Randy Orton's car on RAW is when my appreciation of Kofi went through the roof. It's interesting to watch him as he climbs the ladder in the WWE and puts on several great matches along the way, which makes me hope he will eventually be able to find a spot in the Main-Event picture. He already has the wrestling skill, all they really need to do is develop his character more. I for one, liked when he was going on rampages after matches and throwing Ziggler up the steel steps Easily my favorite Face wrestler in the business.

CM Punk: Do I even need to explain this one? CM Punk is amazing at everything he does, from his matches, to his promos, to commentating. I liked him when he was a face, but when he turned heel it just got 20x better. When working the mic as a heel, you can't help but to want to watch his promos, they're just that good. And although I was straight edge before CM Punk introduced a name for me to associate it with, that just adds to my favoritism of the guy. And as the yin to Kofi's yang, he is my favorite Heel in the business today.

The Miz: I'll admit that I'm not the biggest Miz fan, but I still like to see this guy work, especially since he's become the WWE Champion. While the Miz is still growing on me, I can't deny that he is a very good talent to have. Watching him as he develops and settles into his spot as a Main-Eventer is really cool to see.

To say that Kaval was shit is whats laughable my friend. He may have been a jobber thus far but I dont like people based on how many matches creative is currently letting them win. I noticed that his reactions were actually quite good and if he stuck around would've recieved a nice little mid card push. Dont know anything about his indie cred. Only know him from NXT and his few matches he had years ago in WWE as Lo-Ki. I like how you said that so and so doesn't make a superstar. It sounds like you got Vince yelling in your ear through your headset on what to say. Also like your can't miss picks of Cena, Miz, & Punk. Well you're in luck fella b/c those just happen to be the 3 guys they're pushing the most right now. How convenient. It's like you were built in a factory churning out exactly the kinds of fans that Vince wants.


It is not a fact, only a matter of opinion. I get why many people like him. Don't really hate him or anything. He's just a little too happy all the time for me. I think he would make an excellent host of a children's show. Him being unrivaled in the promo department may literally be true in that no one else is given the oppurtunity to go on and on as he does on the mic. I think he could be anything on the mic b/c he's got the skills but just not too inta his super duper good guy thing right now. Finally, don't appreciate the name calling. Differences over "superstars" is no need to put someone down. Hope you get that spinner belt for Christmas! =)

 

[Serious Jones]

It's impossible for me to narrow it down to one person, which speaks volumes about the current product. It's really hard to narrow it down to two, but if I had to:

CM Punk isn't even in his prime, and he's one of the most versatile, well-rounded superstars in recent history. He's entertaining no matter what angle he's in, and knows his way around the ring. He has the ability to make just about anyone look decent in the ring when they're up against him. We know he's knowledgeable from his time announcing, and all of this translates into an entertaining performer. When I miss a show and I hear that CM Punk had a match, promo, or segment, I head to YouTube as soon as possible.

Daniel Bryan is intriguing. It's so much fun to watch him in the ring, and see him develop his persona out of the ring. No matter what feud or gimmick he's put into, he makes the best of it. We've seen it plenty of times already. He doesn't take himself too seriously, either, so he can do some pretty hilarious segments. I believe Daniel Bryan will be an integral part of the WWE for years to come, and to see him improve from the very beginning makes for great entertainment.

Punk and Bryan make can't-miss programming now, and in my estimation, they will be for years to come.

 

[The Brain]

Lately it’s Alberto Del Rio. He has quickly become my favorite wrestler in WWE. He has such a natural charisma that is going to take him far in the company. The smirk, the wink, the pose, the attitude, it all adds up to a superstar. Oh and he’s pretty good in the ring too. I liked this guy from the moment he debuted on Smackdown and he just keeps getting better. I haven’t like a newcomer this much since Kurt Angle.

I tune in for Jericho when he's around. In fact I've tuned in for Jericho ever since he was cruiserweight champ at WCW. Those days he was the only one stopping me from flipping to RAW. Now a days I gotta go with the MIZ. He really caught my attention when he was feuding with Cena for absolutely no reason. I loved his I hate Cena gimmick and I've enjoyed watching him slowly get more and more success ever since that feud. US champ, double champ (US/Tag), MITB, and now WWE champ. Not to mention all the attention he gets on the internet. He has kept me entertained all year.

ATM i'd say these two aswell

Santino/Khozloff , though i don't think much of his wrestling his comedy is far more entertaining than anything else at present. and suprisingly joining him with Vladimir has been really entertaining, never though that dull Russian/Nikolai Volkoff wannabe could be anything but a dull Russian/Nikolai Volkoff wannabe but he's come out of his shell

Del Rio is good in ring and has that persona going for him. If he doesn't go on to being a champion in the very near future i'd be very suprised.
