What will close the show?

The WWE is even saying that this is the main event of Wrestlemania what more do you need. Anyone who thinks this match doesn't go on last is a complete idiot and doesn't know anything. The Rock vs Hogan should have closed WM18 and the WWE has realized that they made a mistake. Like someone said the only way this match has a chance of being lower on the card is if HHH breaks the streak and that's not going to happen especially with it being overshadowed by the Rock and Cena.

Cena vs Rock. It's been advertised for an entire goddamn year. It's gonna be THE main event of Wrestlemania. WWE would be foolish to put anything else as the last match of WM.

Case closed.

For a few reasons, Rock/Cena HAS to be last.

Number one, it's the biggest match on the card. As Sally said, it's had a very long build, and it's the return of an icon vs the guy who has taken his spot in the company and the industry as a whole.

Number two, other than Taker/HHH, no other match will have so much emotional investment in it from the crowd. Look at past 'big-matches' that have gone on in the middle of the card. The crowd are spent after it, and have no energy left for the subsequent matches, including the main event.

Number three, any match after it, be it an excellent wrestling match or not, will be compared to it and will subsequently be a LOT worse than if it went before Rock/Cena. The event as a whole benefits from leaving Rock/Cena till last.

The only other match I could see going last is Taker/HHH in the cell. But the only way I could see this is if either Taker or HHH were putting their career on the line. The reason this could go last? Well, it's the only match that will rival the emotional investment by fans. It's also had a long-ish build; I'd argue that last years match was in part to accomodate this years match. It has the star power like Rock/Cena (nowhere near the same level, but the closest to it). And it has something on the line; Takers streak. Oh, and it's Hell in a Cell, which is always cool.

But even with all of that, I don't think it's worth the risk. Rock/Cena as the final match is the safe choice, and why go with something other than that on the biggest event of the year, with the biggest match possibly ever? Rock/Cena has been built as the main event since day one, and in this case, the main event should, and most likely will be the final match on the card. And rightly so.

I would say the Rock/Cena pretty much has to be the match that closes the show. IM sure it's been mentioned before, but they've been building this matchup since the day after WM27. Their match is all over the headlines and posters and monikers. The event is in the Rock hometown. Only makes sense they close the show. Normally, I would say put the champions last becasue in the end, it's the company they are supposed to be promoting, but in this case you have a rare opportunity for two eras to clash with both opponents in great shape. Goona be a doozy.

Im going to have to go with Chris Jericho and CM Punk. I mean if Flair was willing to give up the last spot and knew the title should be last. I not saying Cena and Rock should be 1st either. But i do think the WWE and WHC title should be the last two matches, but they usally have a match between them. Its hard to say right now how the card should go they only have 4 matches.

MITB(maybe)
Team Teddy vs Team J.L.
HHH vs Undertaker (HITC)
Sheamus vs Bryan
Cena vs Rock
Jericho vs CM Punk

It has nothing to do with the Rock being a movie star. It's because the WWE has been hyping the match for a solid year, that's why. There's your reason. The WWE will put Rock/Cena on last (barring an end to Taker's streak) because it's the match that they have invested by far the most time and money promoting.

Yeesh. Sometimes people completely miss the forest for the trees.

If that's your reasoning, then Triple H vs. Undertaker 3 has been hyped all year as well. It wasn't long after Mania that Triple H himself said that when Taker returns, Triple H will be waiting. So if that's your reasoning, then you might want to reconsider HHH vs. Taker as the main event as well.

Not to mention how many times has WWE spent countless of money hyping yet another famous person coming in to "wrestle a match" only to put that match in the middle of the show? Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show got WWE the most publicity and revenue in years, only for it to be in the middle of the show. Lashley w/ Donald Trump vs. Umaga w/ Vince McMahon was hyped for a long time as well, and it got WWE even more publicity and money. Was it the final match on the card? No, it wasn't.

If those matches weren't put at the end, after all the money was invested into those rivalries, what makes you think this will be any different? At this moment, Dwayne is just another actor going to the WWE to promote a match with WWE's next famous person. At the end of the day, Dwayne's no bigger than Donald Trump or Floyd Mayweather, and he damn sure isn't worth more money than Snoop Dogg who only usually gets a segment at best on a Mania card... or a clothesline on Santino, which ever's clever.

I'm sticking by the choice of HHH vs. Undertaker because in the end, this is the true match people are going to want to see. There will always be room for another Hollywood Actor vs. WWE Superstar on the show, but there will never be another chance to see two Hell In a Cell masters lock up for the first time on the biggest stage of them all to end one of the biggest rivalries of all time. That's everything you need for a WrestleMania Main Event.

You really are dumb, aren't you? Triple H made the comment once, then like the Undertaker, left WWE TV for all intents and purposes for the better part of a year, minus a brief stint with Kevin Nash, that had absolutely nothing to do with the Undertaker. He didn't mention a Wrestlemania rematch, the WWE didn't mention a Wrestlemania rematch. To call completely ignoring it for 9 months "hyping" it is patently ridiculous.

Meanwhile John Cena vs. the Rock has been mentioned multiple times pretty much on every Raw, every Smackdown, every episode of NXT, on every PPV all year.

Only a truly delusional IWC fool would think that anything other than Rock/Cena closes the show. This Wrestlemania has built on that one match from the beginning.

The lack of logic amongst folks who frequent wrasslin' forums is mind boggling sometimes.

With what we already know about the WM XXVIII Main Events, I think the match order should be:

1. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus for the World Title
2. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho for the WWE Title
3. Undertaker vs. Triple H in Undertaker’s WM Streak match in Hell In A Cell
4. John Cena vs. The Rock

Now, I am the type of SMark that truly believe that the WWE Title match should go last and the World Title match should go second to last. With that being said, this year’s Streak match should be higher on the card than the two WWE World Title matches, only because it’s featuring the WM Streak, possibly of the last time. With last year’s conclusion, one has to believe that the Streak could end. With Cena and Rock, well, it was booked the day after WM XXVII, and with all the hype surrounding the match, and it being in Miami, I think this will undoubtedly end the show. I’m 100% sure that the WWE learned their lesson the hard way with WM X8, where The Rock and Hulk Hogan should have ended the show, even though I’m a huge Jericho-holic and an even bigger fan of the Undisputed WWE WCW World Championship.

If you're asking who I think WILL end the show, I'll say Cena vs. Rock. Which doesn't intrigue me very much. But the match has been hyped up for a year, it's in Johnson's hometown, it's gonna close no doubt.

But if you asked me who I think SHOULD close the show, since this is probably Undertaker's last WM, I'd have the winner of Triple H vs. The Undertaker barely walking out of the arena under his own strength. Dragging or carrying his beaten opponent all the way up the ramp, and backstage. Something like that would be PERFECT!!! No words spoken, just a simple look or motion to end the show.

Putting Rock VS Cena on last seems like a no brainer to me, for many reasons. After all it has been promoted as the man event, since the day after last years Wrestlemania. The build up to Wrestlemania the last few week. Has been primarily focused on Rock and Cena going back and forth. This is by far the most anticipated match on the card. The fans are going to be into this match more than any other match. If it doesn't go on last, they run the risk of the crowd being dead for the rest of the show. Just like the were after the Rock VS Hogan match. Being in Rocks hometown will ad even more emotion and excitement.

Even though it probably wont be the best match of the night, no match can follow it. HHH VS Jericho at Wrestlemania 18 was by far a better match than Rock VS Hogan. But the crowd wasn't very into it, because they were worn out after the Hogan Rock match. I doubt WWE will make that mistake again, especially putting HHH situation again.

Hey what's up everybody?

I just got through reading one of the stories about the match times, and match orders, and I read how "supposively" WWE going to start the show off with Jericho vs. Punk, Undertaker vs. Triple H in the middle of the Card and then end the night with John Cena vs. The Rock. Well I certainly don't agree with it, and it kinda struck a nerve with me. Why not start the night off with a match no one cares about in Daniel Bryan vs. Shaemus and End it with.......

But before I get ahead of my self, who do you think should end WM28? Cena vs. Rock? Or Undertaker vs. Triple H?

In my opinion although the WWE spend a whole year poorly building up this matchup with this Rock and Cena Feud; I certainly think that the main event should be The Undertaker vs. Triple H. Simply because like Triple H said, it's an end of an era. You have 3 of the most iconic names in the business in Triple H, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels as special guest referee in one ring. This match has years of history, and not to mention, the streak is a title in itself, and for problably the last time, in WWE History, the Streak will be on the line. If anybody wants to see Cena, it's primarily b/c he's going up against the Rock. (Just an Opinion.) But this may be both Superstars last match so why not give them what they due, the final match to WM 28. So what's your opinion?

my thoughts of order:

1) Sheamus (W) vs DBry
2) Cody (W) vs Big Show (show is retiring this year me thinks)
3) Divas Match with that tv host hot girl celebrity
4) Orton (W) vs Kane ? (maybe; stupid in my opinion; Kane is gone this yr too)
5) Punk (W) vs Jericho (Jericho is gone after WM)
6) 12-man tag team. Team Teddy wins since HHH becomes raw GM again soon after WM anyway.
7) Taker (W) vs HHH (Taker will retire with the streak)
8) Cena (W) vs Rock (Rock goes bye bye after WM for a long while)
9) Fireworks

Even though I'd like to see HHH vs. Undertaker be the last match on the show, it makes too much sense to make the Rock vs Cena the last match for many of the reasons stated earlier.

This is how I'd book Wrestlemania this year if the card is final:

1. Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show - We start the show off with a title match. Having the IC title involved to start the show gives the title instant credibility as a mid card title and gives fans something of interest without going right for the meat of the show.

2. Diva's Match/Celebrity Appearance - Putting this match here does 2 things, it separates Cody vs. Big Show from the rest of the card further making it stand out on its own so to speak (especially important if they wish to push Cody further in the main event during 2012) and it gets this match out of the way.

3. Randy Orton vs. Kane - 2 main event caliber performers who aren't involved much in a major feud. It should be a brutal battle that will get the crowd's blood pumping, further enhancing the hype for the rest of the show.

4. HHH vs. Taker - We get a very pivotal match to close out the first half of the show. This match will be lengthy and exhausting to say the least and allows for an intermission of sorts to separate the show after it's all said and done. A taker win (most likely) or a loss could be booked at this point with a great amount of effect especially for what happens directly after the intermission is over.

Segment post intermission: Our frog-faced heel should show up sans WM match and do something along the line of what I wrote in the April Fools thread.

5. Team Long vs. Team JL - The segment would be a great segue into this match which I hope to god is a Survivor Series type match. This is a good place for a match that has major significance for the future of the 2 main TV shows.

6. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus - The first of the 2 main title matches. Since being taken off the PPV last year, I feel they deserve to be near the end of the show this year. This match comes before Punk vs. Jericho solely because the WWE title is seen to be the bigger of the 2 main titles.

7. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho - The biggest prize in the WWE must be as close to the end of the card, and in most cases should be the main event. However with the significance and lengthy build to Rock vs. Cena we have to give them the nod IMO.

8. Rock vs. Cena - The main event and the payoff for the year long build between 2 of the top performers in the history of the WWE.

Obviously Rocky v John Cena. It would be stupid to not have them close the show. The build up/hype/feud makes it appropriate for this to be the last match. This match is the main reason why people are going to be watching Wrestlemania today.
