What To Do With The Elimination Chamber

As has become common knowledge, WWE has ended the Elimination Chamber ppv. A report that came out today states that the primary reason for ending the ppv is logistics. The structure itself weighs in excess of 10 tons and a lot of arenas have scoreboards hanging above the floor now anit presents a problem. Now this doesn't necessarily mean that the Elimination Chamber match itself is gone, but that it might become more of a rarity that can pop up at just about any event in the course of a year. It might mean that WWE may have to consider the venues they have coming up in order to determine which can more easily accommodate the structure.

Another possibility could be that WWE could redesign the EC structure in order to make it easier to accommodate. Maybe they could use a more traditional cage structure with two men starting and another one merely coming out to the ring every 5 minutes instead of being in those pods.

At any rate, since the ppv is over, where do you think the EC should pop up as a specialty match in 2015?

I would have loved to see it replace Hell in a Cell in the dull season. After Money in the bank and before TLC, I don't find a single PPV to be nearly as entertaining and well put up as those of December-June. The Elimination Chamber (matches) somewhere between July and November would be the way to go. Out of the PPV's in those months, the one that has gotten really worthless and devalued is Hell in a Cell, and a PPV containing the EC matches would add some much-needed spark to that time of the year.

Given that the period Smark Madden above talks about is generally slow, is there a chance they could bring back a King of the Ring tournament somewhere in that period to make things interesting with the Final of such a tournament being an Elimination Chamber match containing the 6 Best Superstars in the WWE?

Ideally, I'd rather such a PPV be held before SummerSlam with the tournament winner being named the no.1 contender for the WWE title at SummerSlam. Nevertheless it can be stuck in the dull period after with perhaps, the title itself on the line in a huge tournament, which might be able to generate some interest in the product at such a time.

Yes,its a great ppv and i like it too much. It should return by the mid-summer. It will boost viewers in that fading time between June - November.

I have for a long time thought it should be a Survivor Series thing.

You have a concept everyone loves with a PPV that is revered, but at times, clearly needs a big reboot.

You can have the best of both worlds here. My idea has also always incorporated qualifying matches from the same night, ten man tag. Winning team comprises the rest of the chamber participants with the champion.

They would not have typical face/heel alignment, since a captain would be named for each team, whom would then proceed to pick the strongest team possible to try and win and make it into the chamber later in the night.

Survivor Series opens with the ten man tag, fluff the middle, close the show with Elimination Chamber.

I'd replace Hell in a Cell with it and only have one match for the title. Hell in a Cell needs to go and become a feud ending match once more and the Elimination Chamber would help break up the tedium that follows Summerslam

The next time WWE have a Chamber match it should be because they need a Chamber match. After years of seeing too many, on what was usually a decent PPV to be fair, I don't mind if I go years without seeing another. This applies to most of that promotions gimmick concepts.

I prefer War Games over Elimination Chamber. The problem with it though is the amount of floor space it takes up having two rings being given precedence over high dollar PPV seats.

I think the Elimination Chamber should be featured as an important Main Event. I think the next Elimination Chamber match should crown the next WWE Champion of Champions.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion, Bad News Barrett, WWE United States Champion, Rusev vs. WWE World Tag Team Champion, Jimmy Uso vs. WWE World Tag Team Champion, Jey Uso vs. Mr. Money In The Bank, Seth Rollins

The rest of the card, regardless of what Pay Per View the Elimination Chamber match returns to, should be # 1 contenders matches. Oh, and a Divas Championship match can be thrown in there as well.

The Elimination Chamber is a bit over hyped. It's not much better, entertainment-wise, than the Hell in a Cell. But it does have advantages in that it lets the wrestlers work the crowd before they enter the match. It's a good match and I'd like to see it stick around, but I do understand why they are not going to use it as much.

I think it would be cool to merge it with other types of matches. An Elimination Chamber Money in the Bank match would be cool. Or they could even make it a match to determine a type of money in the bank for the IC or Tag titles. It would also be a good match to incorporate into Survivor Series. Maybe by having team mates enter the match a different times. It also could be used as a stand alone like it currently is. I's think it would be good for WrestleMania, because they are usually in stadiums, but problem with that is they probably can't build it up, or take it down fast enough. I wonder if they could start WrestleMania with it and then take it down?

I think they have to keep it for a special occasion. Finding 6 guys to compete isn't difficult at all and when everyone on the roster is healthy it is easy to fill out an entire PPV + committing 6 guys to the main-event.

Once a year is fine without having a specific PPV. I don't think the Elimination Chamber has been exposed. There have been plenty of very good matches and it has given the WWE a way of manipulating the title picture just before Mania.

The WWE could just wait until the second half of the year and use the Chamber then. Instead of rematches and fairly random matches they could have a chamber with 6 big names. A Chamber, even for just a month, makes the title picture more entertaining. Nevermind the fact it would be a good match.

They should ditch the Elimination Chamber and bring back War Games. If they were ever going to bring back War Games, it would feel redundant to have them both in the line-up, so ditching the Chamber early is the right call. Now all they have to do is announce STARRCADE for November and build it up like the WrestleMania of the fall, and include a War Games fight between Team Sting and The Authority.

I feel that WWE's PPV line-up should go as follows:

• Setup for WrestleMania (Royal Rumble)
• Mid-point during buildup (Fast Lane is bullshit, Night of Champions would be good here)
• WrestleMania
• Fallout of WrestleMania (Extreme Rules)

• Setup for SummerSlam (King of the Ring, with the SummerSlam ME on the line)
• Mid-point during buildup (Money in the Bank)
• SummerSlam
• Fallout of SummerSlam (Tables, Ladders & Chairs)

• Setup for Starrcade (Give Survivor Series a Battle Bowl concept. All survivors compete at the end for a title shot at Starrcade)
• Mid-point during buildup (Halloween Havoc)
• Starrcade
• Fallout of Starrcade (End the year with the hottest feud competing inside Hell in a Cell)

It should only be used in rare occasions for big time PPVs. Having it be it's own PPV takes the shine off the gimmick match.

Once a year or less is all that I need to see the Chamber match.

So glad to see it go, and I hope the other gimmick ppv's soon follow it out the door. What always bothered me most was the placing of the ppv. You put a brutal, grueling match like this in February? It took away from the importance of winning the rumble match. There shouldn't be a ppv between RR and WM at all, but that's another story. If the chamber match happens again in the future, then it makes the most sense at Survivor Series in my opinion. I mean they've always said this is a match "you don't win, you survive." I don't know if it's a good idea to use it every year, but if they did, it might eventually replace the traditional elimination matches. The winner of the chamber match could be referred to as the "lone survivor" in future chamber matches. They wouldn't have to always be for the championship. The winner could be the #1 contender for the Royal Rumble.

They should do a team version of it like they do in the video games for a kind of "finish the feud" between stables at Survivor Series or the odd raw just like they have done over the years in singles matches with steel cages and hell in a cell.

I prefer War Games over Elimination Chamber. The problem with it though is the amount of floor space it takes up having two rings being given precedence over high dollar PPV seats.

I would prefer a War Games as well, but as you say they won't give up the dollars that those floor seat bring in.

For me I never got into the Elimination Chamber as a whole. Don't know why but always found it kind of weird ass time of the year to do it between the Rumble and Mania. Seemed to be a lot of set up for not much pay off. Cage matches are fine, but the Chamber was one that I could miss and not be bothered about it.

EC is great they should continue with two EC matches make one for the title one for the following months ppv number one contender
