What Sports Do You Play? [Non-Spam]

Mac Attack

I'm neat.
I wanted to ask WrestleZone memebers what sports they played and I was thinking that there was a way to do it nonspam. So in this thread I ask you what sports have or had you played. HOWEVER you must include a short blurb on something about either why or in what manner you did this sport. Please use my sports as an example.

Tennis

I played tennis for the last 12 years. I currently starting coaching over the summer and my USTA tennis ranking would be a 5.0 however I could play at a higher level if necessary. I think that tennis is a great sport that doesn't get the publicity that is needed for it to become a great sport.

Football

I played football back in middle school. I was a defensive tackle. I enjoyed hitting people however I stopped playing football to focus on my tennis career. However I love watching football on T.V and my favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rugby

Much like football I have loved playing rugby because of my size and speed. I currently am in the Hooker position and am mostly likely going to be MVP of the season. However I think Rugby really needs to be on T.V because it is a great sport and it deserves more recognition then it gets.

BASEBALL I grew up playing Baseball from the ages of 7 thru 18, I played many positions p, c, 2nd, ss, and cf had plenty of fun years doing that.

FOOTBALL played three years in high school, had a blast till I tore up my shoulder, which took years to get better.

BASKETBALL I have always played it just for the fun of it and its one of my favorite things to do, but now it's a good way to stay in shape at my age, and I will continue to play it till the knees give out.

SOFTBALL I am currently in a adult mens league and am having a good time, I also coach my daugters 13yr old and under team, trying to coach 12 young girls is currently one of the hardest things Iv'e done.

I play Tennis and have since high school. Very difficult sport to learn and play because it requires so many different skills and coordination. Very good sport to keep in shape with, and it is what is referred to as a lifetime sport. You can play it in your 60's if you aren't to beat up and out of shape.

I also run daily. I wake up very early everyday and go to the track for a run. My wife runs with me on occasions. Another very good way to keep in shape and have fun while doing so. I also walk with my ipod blaring just because walks are awesome.

FOOTBALL(gaelic) I played gaelic football for 8 years i quit last year when i was 18 due to me going to college and my knee was starting to give me trouble. I captained my team to a championship title and won two league titles before i gave it up. Id never consider going back.

Badminton I started doing it out of boredom due to it being the only indoor sport available during winter when gaelic football wasent on. I ended up putting a lot of time into it when i did well at some tournaments. This got me stripped of the captaincy as i started to miss training for it. I ended up winning an all ireland gold medal though so i have no regrets. I eventually quit it too though when my trainer moved away.

At the moment i play soccer but only with friends im done with competetive sport as i ended up getting a job and couldnt commit the time to my work and sport. Ive had quite a bit of succes though so i have no regrets about quitting.

All i need to do now is win a WWE title and i can die happy :worship:

In terms of just casual pick up games I play basketball, football, baseball, and hockey. When it comes to actual formal playing, I played basketball and football. Football I stopped playing formally around middle school because my middle school/high school were about 98% running teams and I had always been mainly a receiver. Basketball was the sport I stuck with formally all the way into high school. I still play pick up games of all four sports that I mentioned earlier with basketball being the one I play the most.

I'm out of school now, but I wrestled in highschool. I was pretty proud of all the things in wrestling that I did. I know for a fact that I was the best Heavyweight in my county, and had it not been for our state third placer being in my legue I probably would have been the best in the legue. I compiled a record of 35-15, 30 of my wins comming by way of pin. I got to districs and was beat in my go to state match by a kid who now plays football for Ohio state. Don't Believe me, look up Ben St. John from woodmoore ohio.

I won the coaches award, got the second fastest pin at sectionals and the fastest with a 10 second pin at a 2 day tourniment.

I loved wrestling in school, and it was an amazing thing for me. I just wish I could have went farther.

My awards and shit from my senior year.

At school, I used to play Basketball everyday. Every break and every lunch-break I had was spent on the Basketball court. I used to love playing a bit of 3 on 3 between classes. In the months leading up to leaving school, I was at the best weight of my teenage life (near enough) and I place that down to playing Basketball constantly. I was pretty decent too, being my teams second highest scorer for the season. My nickname used to be 'Magic', because I bought myself an Orlando Magic jersey when I went on holiday there and wore it every practise session. Unfortunately I'm no longer in the shape to play competitively anymore, but I'd love to get back into it. I'm pretty tempted to get back into it as I always enjoyed playing. Plus it would help me shift the pounds.

I don't really do sport now, but I do act and dance. For the past few months I've been doing a show and some of the physicality of the dance movements are on par with the physicality I used to go through whilst playing sport.

In high school I played football. I was a nose-tackle and never came off of the field. I am somewhat vertically challenged and have always been very quick, so this position was to my benefit. I loved my time as a high school football player and will never forget it.

I played hockey from the time I was 6 years old. In high school, I switched from left wing to defense and I really enjoyed the position. I was able to use physical play (body checking) to my advantage and dropped to block shots every chance I got. I continued to play until I was 27 years old, at that point my hips couldn't handle the contact or strenuous skating.

Currently, I play softball---mens league on Thursday nights in spring/summer and coed on Sundays. I can still play anywhere and move pretty well, but the dramatic catches have been diminishing. I enjoy it though.

I play Badminton. A club in my area was set up and me and a friend went along for some fun. Even on the first day, I was able to get the hang of it super quick. I have good co-ordination so this helped a lot in improving my skills. After one year, our trainer decided to start entering tournaments. We of course got slaughtered in most of the provincial ones, we just weren’t a competing team, not by a long shot. We did improve, but we gave the tournaments for a larger amount of clubs, and focused on our county competitions. I'm the number 1 seed at my club, have been for a long time. We won the county championships for mixed. We were runners up this year in mixed and boys. I won our home tournament once again, but I am never rewarded player of the year, which ticks me off as she has given it to people that aren't as dedicated to the sport as me, don't enter tournaments, and quite frankly, suck.

Soccer: Captain and all-state player in HS. Played collegiately for 2 years before my 3rd reconstructive knee surgery in 5 years made me reconsider my career. Currently play in an indoor league in the winter and coach a U18 team in the summer and HS in the fall

Hockey: Played in HS and was a part of 2 state tournament teams in MN. Never an integral part but a solid role player

Baseball: Played pitcher and short stop in HS

Tennis: Captain and #1 Doubles player in HS

Softball: Play on a summer men's league team

BASKETBALL: I love to play the sport.... I love everything about the game, its been my passion my whole life.. My senior year in high school I averaged 25.3 ppg and 7.4 apg.. Now that Im in college, play go to the court and shoot after my morning classes.. When I dont have a basketball in my hand, i feel empty. When im not playing im thinking about playing or watching NBA...

Boy am I gunna sound weird :lmao:

1. AFL
I love that AFL is only played professioally in Australia. I know there is an American league but the average scores there are about 30 points. In Australia the average score is at least 100. I know that when people look at AFL for the first time they marvel at the lack of protective equipment. Probably coz of stuff like this:

HE CAME BACK ONTO THE GROUND IN THE SECOND HALF!!! :worship:

Anyways, I played 4 seasons of footy at West Footscray. I left because the club became really dodgy.

2. Cricket
Again, I did 4 years of cricket. I played at Sunshine Druids for 2 and Footscray United for 2. After I moved to United I got pretty good. I was a spin bowler and a guy that could make some quick runs towards the end of an innings.

These are the only 2 I've played professionally, but I often play Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Table Tennis & even Badminton at school. I've repped my school in Cricket, Table Tennis & Badminton.
