What now for Christian?

Dark Match Jobber
This is my first thread so hopefully it's relevant enough for now.

At Over The Limit on Sunday I didn't really see Christian ever winning the Heavyweight Championship back from Randy Orton, but for a few seconds after his defeat I begged for a heel turn. It didn't happen of course, the pair's handshake looking to have ended the feud and left the door open for the next challenger to Orton. Who that will be remains to be seen, but what I'm wondering now is where Christian goes from here? IMO having him win the world title was a nice tribute to Edge, but I fear that losing it so quickly and then inevitably losing his rematch may have limited what he can do now in terms of challenging for even the Intercontinental title, for a while at least.

Will Christian realistically get another shot at the Heavyweight Championship in the near future?

Would you like to see Christian become involved in the Intercontinental title picture?

Has the opportunity for a heel turn passed for now after shaking Orton's hand again at Over The Limit?

I really dont know at this point! I dont see him going back down to the midcard though. I believe he will have a high profile feud with maybe Cody Rhodes or Mark Henry. Then maybe a few months down the road get another shot at whoever is the title holder

He has to keep going for the title. nobody else on smackdown is mainevent quality. simple as that. If i was wwe i would book Christian to Win the world title at the next ppv. With him Cheating to win. Then at M.I.T.B ppv have him Defeat Orton again this team with Jericho helping him win. This allows Jericho and Orton to feud and then Christian can take on the likes of Sheamus Barrett Jackson's etc untill royal rumble. Perfect play off would be @ wm 28 have Christian v Orton v Jericho for the belt.

Now this I would like to see. I haven't got round to watching Over The Limit yet, or last Friday's Smackdown, but I have been hoping for a Christian heel turn, even if just to help him stay relevant with Orton stomping all over the blue show. Not sure about the chances of Jericho being there though, how many more dates are on the Fozzy tour?

Honestly if I was him when they told me I had to lose my title on Smackdown immediatley after the PPV he won the title at this is what I would have done

1st of all I would've said "Fuck you, I'm keeping the title for at least 2 months or I'm fucking quitting" and if they didn't comply and told me ok go out to the ring for your title loss match I'd go out there lose , and then get a chair and beat the fuck out of Orton with it for real , then grab a mic get in the ring , raise my middle finger to the sky and say "This ones for you WWE" and then I'd say to the audience "If you guys wanna see me I'll be on Spike every Thursday night at 9 from now on, where I'm appreciated"

Smackdowns taped. They can cut that out and easily say Christian left or something and hold a battle royal to determine the new WHC.

Apparently Mark Henry will feud with Orton so I see a Christian/Rhodes feud where Rhodes can go over and become Main Event Material

This feud is far from over. It is obvious that Christian will turn heel here. I think that on this week's Smackdown Orton will ask Christian to go to the back of the line as there are other guys whom he has to defend his title against. Christian will probably win some sort of a number one contender's match and will challenge Orton to a gimmick match, which in all probability will be a ladder match.

I think that Christian will turn heel at the next PPV when he loses his signature match to Orton and realizes that there is just no way for him to beat Orton cleanly. That is when the desperation of the situation will truly set in.

Anyhow, there isn't a better option than Christian for Orton to feud with. Sheamus has feuded with Orton and the majority of those matches sucked ass, Mark Henry has been pushed many times to main event status and has failed to produce the goods every single time. Cody might be a decent option but it is too early for him to be blooded into the main event. A midcard level feud will be better for him than a main event push at this stage.

Christian is a fresh opponent for Orton and there seems to be an obvious chemistry between the two. I haven't seen anyone on the roster have such good matches with Orton in a long while. The crowd, it seems, is also enjoying the feud if the dueling chants are an indication.

During Raw, I thought one of the advertisements for Smackdown hinted at a re-match this week. At least that's how I viewed it. If this isn't over between Christian and Orton, I won't complain. They keep giving us great match after great match, and as long as that keeps up, I see no problem extending this feud.

Would you like to see Christian become involved in the Intercontinental title picture?

No. Since you're asking for an opinion, here's mine -- turn Christian heel. Now.

Has the opportunity for a heel turn passed for now after shaking Orton's hand again at Over The Limit?

I don't think the opportunity has passed, but I'm not sure why the trigger wasn't pulled. Turning Christian heel seems like the only way to keep him above the mid card.

I would love to see Christian turn heel, at some point, between now and Money in the Bank. Frustration boils over, loses his mind after not being able to get the job done -- that sort of thing. Realistically, he and Orton could avoid another one-on-one PPV match until Summerslam. Main event at Capitol Punishment could be a three-way, four-way, whatever. Christian, heel by this point, wins MITB. Something along that line. Whatever, the details are up for debate. Christian heading back to mid card bothers me, so I hope they go this route, one way or another.

Why is this feud going on? Christian lost his title and the rematch as squeaky clean as you can get. There was no madness sounding it, it was just Orton being opportunistic as Christian tried to give it his all. Well, the dude failed to retain or regain and it's time to move on.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went with Sheamus vs Christian for a while. It is kinda too early to have another Sheamus vs Orton feud.. That and the matches blew very large and disgusting chunks.

At this point I don't see any reason for Christian and Randy Orton to continue in their skirmishes, unless one of them turns heel. They have tremendous chemistry and their two matches were topnotch stellar material. Christian is a Main Eventer with or without the World title. In fact, I don't even care about the World title being around his waist anymore. He's established himself as an equally great chaser as he is a Champion (most notably his ECW title reigns). I DON'T want to see him fighting for the Intercontinental Championship. That just feels like a step down. It certainly does open doors for new opponents for both Christian and Randy Orton, but I much prefer Christian feuding with someone like Sheamus where no titles are present and rather a story.

I honestly see Christian feuding the likes a Wade Barrett next if he stays face, a feud with Sheamus or Mark Henry would be irrelevant since he has fought just about every week those 2 have been on SmackDown, I know we don't like the idea of him feuding for the Intercontinental Championship, but at least the matches would be good between him and Barrett, although i still hope for a Christian heel turn, i would be ok with this as well, If not Barrett, then how about the Undashing Cody Rhodes, thise matches would be great as well, as long as he is not stuck feuding with Mark Henry and Sheamus

The fued for the title with Randy Orton is nothing but over. And all of those who want a Christian heel turn, well guys, you'll have to wait for at least another year. That's the earliest I can think of. Because, with Edge just gone 2 months ago, there is no way Christian can turn heel. Plus, there is lack of faces on the SmackDown! roster.

As to who he's going to fued with now, well let's see.

1. Wade Barrett - He's involved in The Corre fued. So, kick him out of the equation.

2. Sheamus - I think, he's the next challenger for Orton's World title. Because I don't think Mark Henry will be in the title picture ever-ever again.

3. Mark Henry - He's an option. He isn't doing anything now excepting for being Orton and Christian's bitch. So, he could be the right option for Christian to face and beat.

4. Cody Rhodes - Well, well. Look who we have here! Cody Rhodes could be the perfect option. He's got no one to fued with except that stupid Ted "Jobber" DiBiase. They could write-off the fued with a Cody win. The fued with Christian will help him get over and a victory in the fued (at the end if possible) will turn him into a true main-eventer and possibly a future World Heavyweight champion.

So, there are two options: Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes. Though, Rhodes will be the better one.

Although, I agree that this skirmish with Orton and Christian is over. If they had one more match, I'd hope they'd build it up for Summerslam. It'd definitely be a match that I would feel comfortable parting with my money to see on PPV (or in person).

But odds are, he'll be putting over Barrett.
