What kind of Stable do you prefer, Midcard, or Highcard?

Occasional Pre-Show
You know I was thinking, which stables are usually better in the long run of things to have. Would you Prefer Midcard Stables like RTC, NOD, Los Bariquas, Brood, spirit squad, and all those others or do you prefer High Cards like Dx, Evolution, Hart Foundation, Ministry, and stuff like that.

Personally I enjoy watching those mid card stables because they usually give very entertaining segments throughout the shows, and they can be a huge step up to go from a mid carder to main event status. I really do think mid card stables lack, and that with a high card stable its just usually to hype up the main events, and they are usually completely serious, with not much Humor.

But anyways Just give your thoughts on which types of stables you enjoy more

Combination.

My favorite set-up for stables (unless you're talking about making it another Gang War situation, where there are dozens of stables) is to have 4 or 5 members:

1. Leader - Main Event
2. Lancer - Midcard
3. Henchman - Tag Team
4. Henchman - Tag Team
5. Optional - Manager

That way, you can have a successful balance.

When you have a stable made up of midcarders without a main event star, there's really nowhere for the members to go, plus they'd be feuding with each other all the time over the same title. Los Bariquas, I felt, was a horrible stable, because it really was only "midcarder Savio Vega + who the fuck are these jobbers?" Lol.

So would that mean your favorite stable in recent memory was JBL's stable? It was good I must admit, but I kind of did like all those gang war situations, because I feel faction vs faction storylines are usually the best kind to bring everyone to a new level, along with give entertainment with the various promos that go on throughout the night. But I will agree that your setup is probably the best for what a stable should look like

I actually was on a wrestling hiatus during the time between mid-99 up until January of 07, so I never got to see JBL become JBL. He was always "Bradshaw, a shitty tag team wrestler" to me, lol.

I loved the gang war, but only because there was a good balance of jobber gangs (DOA, Los Bariquas) midcard (Nation of Domination) and main event gangs (Hart Foundation, DX).

The 2nd incarnation of DX sort of had the best structure, I think. You had the main event guy, Triple H, the midcarder, X-Pac, and the tag team, New Age Outlaws, with Chyna as the manager-type role. That gave you the opportunity to see if all 4 of the guys could win championship belts (and Chyna for the women's, though that didn't matter at all at the time).

The best stables of all time were the n.W.o. & Hart Foundation. Which were a mix of mid card and main event.

My favorite stable of the last 6-7 years was Evolution.

You had Triple H, the main eventer of the group.

Next was Ric Flair, who was the legend/manager/upper-midcard guy.

Then you had Batista and Randy Orton. Up until that point, Batista was D-Von's lackey, and was slowly building up as a dominant force. Orton had basically next to nothing going on for him.

Evolution directly led to Orton and Batista becoming main eventers. It also was a dominant stable. If a stable completely served it's purpose, it was that one.

I like balance in a stable. They need to have an established star, an up and comer and possibly a tag team. And I think, no I know, that WE need a strong stable right now. Not just a stable for 2 months, but a sustained stable, one where it builds up some new top guys and gives the fans something to look forward to every week. Back in the mid to late 90's, I couldn't wait for Nitro every week to see what the nWo was going to do, or who was going to turn on WCW. Stables add an element of surprise and can take things in a whole other direction.
