Prof Ulti at work as usual....
Back in the 80's WWF first started to get noticed by the widespread audience and actually started recieveing notice. It began as a 'family' type show with feuds and wrestlers having 'cartoony' characters and most matches being actual pure wrestling matches.
Enter the 90's and WWF was moving along with the times and it was becoming more 'in-your-face' and becoming more violent and aiming for the middle age target. This was where quite clearly WWF were in their prime and had a lot of hype surronding them.
Enter the 2000's and the first year and a half was very good for them with the Rock and Stone Cold still going great. WWF was still big and watched a lot in the world. Then came the lawsuit and they changed their name to WWE and thats where many people believe they lost their charm. Although from '02-'04 they were still very solid and had a lot of entertainment for the middle age crowd (Violenece etc)
However from '05-'07 WWE seemed lost and didn't know what to aim for. Should they go for the Family show, entertainment show or the kids show and it clearly showed that with the loss of quality in their programming. However in '08 they finally made WWE a PG rating which meant that they were clearly aiming for kids. But will WWE still aim for kids in the future or find that this is just not the market for them and go for older target?
