I love the GTS finisher, but I think Kenta does it slightly better. The big thing like you said is the receiver needs to know how to sell it properly for it to look effective.

I dunno, the main reason Punk stopped doing it in the first place was the toll it took on his kness, if HHH had never done the move, and Punks knees had held up, I wouldn't be shocked if Punk had used this. But all that is hypothetical speculation and I could certainly be wrong.

Hell yea! That match is just great, and that GTS is fucking crazy, I remember watching that not knowing of this spot, and I flipped shit when it happened, I even woke my dad up cause i said "DAMNNNNNN" so loud.

I'm almost positive it's 85% the damage it was doing to his knees, 10% the danger involved in Vince's eyes, and 5% Trips. Even in ROH towards the end of his run Punk was using the Pepsi Plunge sparingly and it was mostly used as a tease in the middle of the match. In fact he used the Anaconda Vice as his finisher towards the end, I think after he started using the Vice he only used the Plunge one more time, and that's when he defeated Aries for the ROH World Title. Which was an outstanding match and immediate heel turn afterwards.
I think the perfect example of how to sell it would be either the vid Ty just posted, or pretty much any match he's worked against Katsuhiko Nakajima, who sold the GTS like a fuckin' champ.
Definitely agree with you there man, KENTA is far and away the best to use the GTS. KENTA just rocks in general, the guy just doesn't have bad matches, much like Davey Richards.
Speaking of puro, watching the finals of this year's BOSJ tournament between Kota Ibushi and Prince Devitt. All kinds of awesome. Prince Devitt has officially become one of my favorite wrestlers on the planet right now. I may even need to make a sig for him, because he's so fucking awesome and you NEVER hear people talk about him.

Yes, Nakajima sell the GTS like a pro and YES I LOVE Prince Devitt, he is by far one of the best workers in the buisness, plus he always seems to find his was into the second row after some ridiculous dive.
