What is so special about Lance Cade?

Why does WWE feel as if he deserves a push?

He is marginal in the ring, bland on the stick, and he just doesn't have any charisma at all.

The only time I ever enjoyed Cade & Murdoch was when they were fueding with the Hardys. But even during that, I was never thinking "wow I hope they push Lance Cade." But now Murdoch is gone, and Cade stands alone. Even now, he just stands around looking like a ****** waiting for Shawn Michaels to superkick him. I admit that I love Cade/Michaels connection in their current storyline, but he still hasn't shown me anything that would merit his role in a such a high profile fued. Am I missing something? What do some people see that I don't?

So, what do you guys think?

Its probably has something to do with the fact that shawn micheals trained him, its probably just Shawn Micheals throwing his weight around backstage again...I used to always wonder why Cade was with murdoch, because it seemed like murdoch held him back, But now I can't see him doing anything more than a chuck pulumbo type role, I can't believe they are trying to push him to main eventing

I don't see anything great about him either. Ever since he ditched Murdoch, all he's done is follow Y2J around. He hardly does anything. I hope WWE is going somewhere with it because right now he's just wasting space on my TV screen.

I think the fact that he was trained by Shawn Michaels is the reason he is getting this push. Michaels is amazing in the ring so Cade is probably above average in terms of ring ability. Maybe we haven't seen his true colors yet? The fact that Shawn Michaels trained him already creates a possible storyline to push Cade to main event status.

Well they moved Kennedy and Jeff Hardy (Hardy, who I don't think should ever be a main eventer) to Smackdown, so who else is deserving of that role? Cody Rhodes debuted around this time last year, Ted DiBiase just debuted, Kofi Kingston debuted around No Way Out or something I can't remember... they look more promising than Lance Cade but they haven't even had a year experience in the business except for Cody Rhodes. CM Punk is top dog on Raw right now.. not really anyone else besides Lance Cade to go ahead and get promoted to main event status and Shawn Michaels pulling for him just sealed the deal.

You raise a good point. But, despite how new these guys are, they have still shown me something. Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase are entertaining, and improving in the ring. Kofi Kingston is already over with the crowd and has great in-ring ability. There is no role for Cade to fill because all of these new guys have roles for themselves. Cade has to be his own guy and stand out. Which he has yet to show me any reason why I should like him. He is certainly not main-event material in my eyes, and never will be. As I said before, I love the "I was trained by Michaels" portion of the storyline, but he has yet to capitalize on that, besides the pesky mention of it in a crappy promo. I am optimistic that he will show me something in a potential fued with Michaels, but that may be wishful thinking.

Compared to Murdoch, I always thought Cade looked fantastic.

But you're right in saying that he hasn't shown us anything worthy of a push yet. That's why I can't see how they're pushing him as an "upper midcard" guy when in all these years, he hasn't warranted a midcard title or even a successful midcard feud for the title but still coming up short in the end.

He's just very...generic. As a heel, he doesn't make me hate him. He's just sort of there to be an antagonist to a face. He doesn't have a surprising moveset, nor does he has particularly honed mic skills. So we'll just have to see...but I completely agree with the comparison to Chuck Palumbo. In due time, Cade will be in the same position - generic heel that is never really involved in a program and is just there to work some matches. That, or they'll tag team the two of them up haha.

To me, Cade is like Rhodes or Dibiase, just without the spark. He has a decent look, but overall that's about it. It's not that he looks bad, just not great. Slightly above average look, nothing great in the ring, nothing great on the mic, but since he's been with Jericho, I've suprisingly believed he could make it work. There's just soemthign about putting him with a huge name that makes him better. I'm just not impressed by him overall though. I can't see him being much higher than being fed to HBK, then dropping down into the IC title hunt without ever really coming close. I really don't get it with him. Has he even spoken since he got with Jericho?

I really think e just hasnt had a real chance to show it yet. He was stuck in a tag team with a guy that held him back for years. Now he is finnaly getting his Chance as a singles competttiter, He has only been brought into the HBK vs Y2J fuedbecouse HBK trained him. it has nothing to do with backstage Politics. If Spanky was better then Cade they would of used him instead. Let the guy have a couple of months and see where they go with him. I think he is the best suited out of all of the tag team divisions to be pushed as a single competiter. i can see him winning the IC title soon and he deserves it he does have Character it just needs a tune up

He's got the look, he's got the talent. You guys just need to give him some time. He just got out of his Tag Team with Murdoch. Being around Chris Jericho is helping alot in my eyes. Right now he is playing the role of the enforcer. You have to remember this isnt the 80's anymore. People just cant float around the card anymore. We fans are too smart for that now.

I remember a guy by the name of Batista. I thought he would never be a Champ. But with the help of an established veteran and his slow turn he made it happen. Lance Cade could go the same route. It would work. Just give it time. I think he will be a big name. He just needs some more work.

I personally don't think there is anything special about Lance Cade. While he only just broke up with Trevor Murdoch a few weeks ago, in the 3 years he has been in the WWE, he never showed me anything that was worthy of a huge push. Sure, I like how he is Jericho's enforcer, but I just can't see him as a World Champion.

He definately has the look of a superstar, but I hated his redneck gimmick. I can see him as an Intercontinetial Champion later down the track, but I think he will get overshadowed by Chris Jericho just like I think Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins are being overshadowed by Edge. I know Edge is the leader of the stable, but I feel the Major Brothers got further before they were alligned with Edge. They are nothing more but jobbers now and the same can possibly happen to Lance Cade if the WWE dont book him properly.

So I am going to give Cade a year to improve. If he doesn't, then he should be moved to ECW where he can really establish himself as a superstar. If he fails in ECW, then he serves no purpose to the WWE other than being a jobber.

That's absolutely correct. I don't think there is anything interesting at all about Cade (and I think Batista is boring and overrated as well) but WWE is inclined to try and "make" whoever they want to.

Cade's personality and wrestling skills remind me of Batista, but with less force behind him and not as big. He could probably be made into something if they put him with the right guy - younger fans will follow. If I had to make a decision right now I'd say I don't want that to happen, I think it will only lead to bland promos and boring matches.

Overall, no, there's nothing special about Cade.

I think Cade was better when he was with Jindrak in the early part of his WWE career. I remember him and Jindrak worked good together and were getting some reaction. Then he went to Garrison Cade with the gimmick as Coachman's flunky, which wasn't that interesting at all. Then him and Murdoch was a decent team that got little pushes but no reaction. I actually think Murdoch was beginning to show more charisma recently and was surprised he was let go.
I will give Cade one more chance to show what he can do here in a program with Y2J and HBK. Maybe Cade is getting all these chances of being friends with HBK.
