Moan moan fucking moan. Smarky fans are never satisfied.
WWE are accused of relying on Cena, bringing back Rock, Taker, Triple H etc instead of building new stars but when they try and build Roman Reigns as a star the smarky fans shit all over it. What the hell do you want?
Why do smarky fans think they know best? Remember their ridiculous and embarrassing conspiracy theories about WWE holding Daniel Bryan back from returning as it may effect Roman Reigns push? Absolute bullshit and Bryans speech left them with egg on their face yet again! These were the same fans complaining about WWE forcing CM Punk to work injured….again, what the hell do you want?!
As for Roman Reigns, I fear the only way they can save him from a Mania onslaught is to put The Rock in his corner and make Stone Cold Steve Austin the guest referee who raises his arm at the end.
I don't usually post, but I'll take a bite at this.
Yes they are trying to build new stars. The problem is, Roman is not liked by the majority of fans, smarky or not - when arenas (which I'd like to say has more casual then 'smarky' fans in attendance) is booing the hell out of Roman - who is supposed to be the TOP babyface, there is a problem.
Roman has issues in an of himself, his moveset is too repetitive, his mic skills aren't great at all, he doesn't know how to play his character because he always flops between stupid shit. I'll give you a couple examples. He ALWAYS does that stupid smirk of his in the most inappropriate times - it's like he doesn't have a story sense for acting. Another; I may be alone on this but back at the RR when he through Rusev out he acted a bit like a heel there, and again when he hit AJ styles with a samoan drop he did again and this time with the hand going across the neck which is a more heelish thing to do.
To further that point above thinking about it, the RAW after RR when he lost the title, he pulls out a new move. Why not do it while your the CHAMP - There is sense to be made here, but Roman just doesn't have common sense.
The problem isn't just the person, it's also the booking. He is booked to win majority of the time, never takes a clean loss and when he does lose its from interference. They try to make him look "strong" at literally every chance they can get.
Case-in-point tonight: Lesnar kicked out of a finisher. Roman kicked out of a finisher, and this was the 2nd one used on him I believe, Ambrose lost to the first finisher he got hit with, from reigns who just took multiple chair shots to immediately no sell get up and spear to win.
This will mark the SECOND year in a row Roman will be going into the MAIN EVENT OF WRESTLEMANIA while getting boo'd out of the building. HIS THE TOP BABYFACE APPARENTLY! That's bad, BAD decision making. Him beating Triple H will NOT make those Boo's become cheers, he will literally get eaten alive on the RAW after wrestlemania.
To comment on your Rock & Stone cold thing, let me remind you Rock came out to him last year at RR and that did not help the boo's at all. The same thing will happen here, and I suspect it will be even worse. I hope they keep them both away from the match.
They could of had this HHH VS Roman match without the title and without the main event and it would of done miracles for his popularity going forward, but now we are going to see Roman become a 3X World Champ in the span of 6 months.
Worst part for me, and this is just my opinion but the HHH VS Roman fued ended at RR in my eyes and also according to their storyline. HHH got his retribution for Roman laying him out, and Roman just took it and they never spoke about from that night onwards - The fued was ended, and it had a good ending point for them to refocus Reigns onto something else IMO.
Just another personal opinion for me, but Roman makes a good *supporting* actor, not the main actor and that's why I cannot see him as main event material.
EDIT: I'll just chuck in, but I always thought Roman winning the IC or UC title would of done wonders for him before going up to the WWEWHC title, but instead they skipped that option altogether.
