The following match takes place in the WCW Region under WCW Rules from Tampa, Fl. The ring entrance and ring are equal height.

While I picked Studd over Sabu, because it was a non-hardcore environment, and can pick Rey for the same reason, I'm picking Rey cause he's simply better. By far, and Sandman couldn't find a plane that would get him there. Rey is probably the only man in this sub-region that has a shot at taking out Hogan, so I don't see how anyone can make an argument against him here.

I feel bad for the Sandman. If this were an ECW match, then he would have a much better chance, and probably win. But this is a WCW match. Rey was at his best, in my opinion, in a WCW ring, and we all saw what happened to the Sandman when he went to WWE and was no longer in extreme rules matches. Mysterio will run circles around Sandman and pin him in a squash. Or, just for fun, Sandman will bust out the cane and get dq'd. Either way, Mysterio moves on rather easily.

Sandman loses. Rey Mysterio thrived in WCW, and this match isnt a hardcore contest. So Sandman loses in a landslide. Sandman cant do shit unless he's using weapons, and weapons arent allowed in WCW. Sandman is also slow as a snail, so Rey would just roll him up for the win before he knew what happened for him. Mysterio wins because Sandman sucks.

Sorry that Sandman's not in ECW as I could have put him over Mysterio but Mysterio was great in WCW and without weapons, Sandman is nothing. Mysterio gets the win.

rey would win... after rey mysterio would spotfest the man to death, the sandman would proceed to bash the living daylights of rey with his cane and get DQ'd. Thus rey winning by DQ.

Rey wins easily. Sandman was a god in ECW. However, even if this was there Rey would have a chance based on his short time there. Rey is simply better than Sandman and that's all there is to it. This was where Rey was at his best and Sandman was at his worst. Easy win here for Rey.

Rey easily wins here. The Sandman was all about ahrdcore style, hence why he lasted about a mont after being drafted away from ECW to Raw. Sandman is a legend of ECW, but he really didn't amount to much anywhere else.

Rey Mysterio, on the other hand, is one of a few people to have made an impact in WWE, WCW and ECW and, as a result, would take this WCW match easily.

Sandman has no weapons, Rey is in the ring designed for cruiserweights, and the one where he made his name. Rey has no worries here at all and he 619s his way to round two.

This is laughable at best. Sandman was garbage. He was a cheap Stone Cold imitation who only looked a little bit credible when he was using weapons. Seriously the guy stinks. Then you have one of the best crusierweights(at least mainstream crusierweights)of all time. In a ring suitable for crusierwieghts. If this was ECW I would give Sandman the benefit of the doubt(even though I still think Rey could win), but there's no chance Sandman would win right now, in this region, against Rey(even if it was Sandman in his prime vs. Mysterio now).

Sandman is a guilty pleasure of mine, but he's outmatched here by a guy half of his size. While Rey Mysterio has certainly underwhelmed in the WWE, he was a force to be reckoned with in WCW. He's simply to quick, and too much to handle for a guy that spent most of his career getting wasted before the match even started.

Sandman's entrance would last longer than this match, Rey wouldn't have to do anything really, Sandman would whip out the kendo stick hit Rey on the head before Rey could even deliver one offensive move and end up DQ'd, Rey wins in a matter of seconds

Rey wins rather easily. Hell I could see Sandman thinking it was a hardcore match and nail Rey with that Kendo stick and get DQ'd in the first few seconds of the match. But either way, Rey thrives in a WCW ring and Sandman was only something special in ECW, even then he wasn't that great.

I was never a huge fan of the Sandman. He was fairly botchy, and he heavily relied on weapons which is why he was successful in ECW. But this is WCW, where Rey Mysterio first made a name for himself. His WCW work is great, especially his matches against Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero. Rey Mysterio is a former World Heavyweight Champion. It doesn't matter he was booked as an underdog champion, the fact is that he won a World Title, winning it off Kurt Angle. Whichever way you look at it, it's still a huge accomplishment.

Mysterio would win this easily in a 6 minute match. Sandman isn't very big, so it's not like Rey is truly outmatches here in terms of power, size and strength. This is an easy first round match for Rey Mysterio.

Oddly enough, as people have already mentioned, this is a match whose outcome depends on the company in which it takes place. If this were in ECW, The Sandman would crush Mysterio, Jr. However, given that this is in WCW, Rey Mysterio, Jr. would crush The Sandman. So, I'm going with Rey.
