This would probably have been one of those fun first round matchups that would make you take notice. Then you'd realize that it's a fucking squash and a half. It would have been a fun match. Hell, Animal is a big strong, no selling, guy. Throw a trash can or a chair into his hand, and you might get some entertainment of him pounding away on the Giant for a little while. Eventually though, Andre just has to get a hold of Animal once. Animal might make it interesting, but Andre would surely destroy him once he laid his hands on him.

Being in ECW will help Animal just a wee bit, but not enough to slay Andre. With the no DQ rules, Animal can throw around some weapons and get Andre off his game, but like Shocky said once Andre gets hold of Animal things will be bleak for the tag team star. Animal won't go down without a fight and likely will look rather strong in this scenario, but Andre is too good to be taken down this early.

Poor Animal. Man just can't catch a break, can he?

I will say this; in an extreme rules, Animal could last about five minutes with Andre, because the man doesn't give a fuck. He'll use his spikes, he'll use weapons, he'll do anything to get Andre down. The Road Warriors would thrash you, and beat you within an inch of your life.

Unfortunately, Animal doesn't have Hawk, and many greater man than Animal have tried to best Andre. He will not do what those better men could. Andre wins, downs a vineyard of wine, and heads out to the pub to meet Billy Crystal

Unfortunately for Animal, what has always been his greatest strength ends up being his greatest weakness here. The Road Warriors have never taken a backward step and full on straight ahead attack just plays into Andre's hands. I think this one would have been a reasonably straightforward 'W' for the Giant!

Andre the Giant, in his prime, would not lose to Animal. Ever. Hardcore match or not. When he was in his prime, you really had to believe that Andre only lost when he chose to, and that was just about never. As others have said, the fact that its an ECW match might prolong the match by a few minutes, but as soon as Andre got a hold of Animal, the match is over. I HATE the fact that Animal got this draw, I absolutely love the Road Warriors, and against other opponents, I might have gone with Animal in an upset. But not against Andre the Giant.

Andre crushes Animal, without a question. Animal was a tag team specialist; he has never held a singles championship in his career. Andre the Giant, meanwhile, was known for taking on entire rings of men single handedly and dominating them. The only men that could beat Andre one on one were the men who had truly legendary strength - El Canek, Stan Hansen, Harley Race, Hulk Hogan. Animal doesn't even stack up with that list. I don't even buy that the hardcore rules really help. Andre's not an idiot - put a steel chair in his hands, I think he'll figure it out, and he would just use it to decimate Animal further. Andre is one of the toughest men in the world to beat one on one, and you'd have to be in a very special situation - a wrestler of extraordinary strength, a noted giant killer, or a stipulation that was drastically unfavorable to Andre - to really beat him. None of those conditions are met, and I can't see any way Animal would walk away with a win here.

Animal isn't smart enough to use weapons to his advantage.

He's the King of all meatheads, always was. This would last maybe four minutes. Animal, being the moron he is, would go right after Andre. He wouldn't shy away, use his quickness, or anything any other intelligent individual would do. He'd act like an idiot, and he would be crushed.

Once Andre takes enough of a beating to make Animal look like a pro, he squashes him like a bug. Andre, and it's even worse than Vince vs. Taker.

Animal doesn't shy away from a fight. He is one of the toughest sons of bitches to enter the squared circle. And he has the motor and the energy to put up a onslaught and keep it coming. With a No DQ setting, that would just allow Animal to forget about the rules and throw everything he has at the Giant.

Sadly for Animal, he's facing Andre the Giant. The dude was unstoppable in his prime and went through everybody and anybody not named Hogan. There was nothing you could put up in Andre's way that would stop him from picking you up and dropping you on your head on the mat. And in a no DQ setting, he will most likely be pile-driving Animal onto a garbage can or a Folded out Chair. It is not even close, Andre takes the win.

Unless Paul Ellering shockingly and brilliantly brings a python to the ring to scare Andre out of the arena and competition all together, Andre goes over easily. After the match Andre drinks 100 beers before having wine with dinner.

Animal and Hawk were a great tag team. In fact, probably one of the single best tag teams ever to grace a wrestling ring. With that said, Animal isn't shit without his buddy Hawk. Andre - undefeated for 15 years. Someone on the opposing side explain to me how someone like Animal is going to defeat someone like Andre? Andre was and is always going to be one of the best big men of all time. He'd swallow Animal whole.

Andre wins clean after Animal tries to prove his strength by Military pressing Andre until his legs give out and Andre pins him.

If we had a tag team tournament it is quite possible that Animal and Hawk would get the number one seed. This, however, is indvidual action and Animal has drawn one of the most dominant men to ever step in the ring. Animal is about as strong as they come but even his strength is no match for Andre. Andre has taken big strong guys like Animal and made them look like children. I'm not sure I'd vote for Animal and Hawk in a hanicapped match against Andre. Animal doesn't stand a chance on his own.

I don't know if Andre was ever in a match where weapons were used when he was young, but I doubt they'd have much effect on him anyway. Andre's biggest draw was always his size, and he pretty much steamrolled anyone they put in the ring with him that wasn't also a super heavyweight. Hawk can smash Andre with a chair, and Andre will no sell it. He can swing a barbed wire 2x4 at Andre, and Andre would just swat it away with his hand. Hawk could pour a bag of tacks into the ring, but Andre isn't getting taken down by a guy that weighs a measly 275 pounds, a full 200 pounds less than Andre's lowest billed weight.

Yeah, Andre rolls through here, no problem.

Animal does not have the singles experience to go over almost anyone in this tournament let alone Andre the Giant. This match would consist of Animal hitting Andre and Andre showing that animal aint got shit for him before he ends it.

Give it a minute.... 1, 2, 3 & it's over.

Andre wins this one with no problem whatsoever, it might be under ECW Rules, so Animal could pound away for a second, but the Giant is always gonna win this, no matter what you try & do to stop him.

JS votes Andre The Giant

Where does everyone get the idea that Animal is ******ed? He's been in some high-profile matches during his career...He's been in War Games, and didn't go full-on until the end. He's no ring general like Flair, but he's not a total idiot. Standing across the ring from Andre, he'd backpedal, and keep his distance, and find something...nay, ANYTHING, at would help.

Once that fails, he's run straight into a right hand, and it'd be over.

But, he'd at least be smart enough to run away for a few minutes.

Animal doesn't have the speed to take out Andre's legs with a weapon before Andre beats the piss out of him. Animal always met a fight head-on and unfortunately for him that is a mistake with Andre. Andre wins.

Squash match with Andre destroying animal. Andre was always such a recognisable big guy that people were immediately drawn and I think he would be able to defeat Animal pretty easily. Animal only worked for me when he was with Hawk.

Hawk will no doubt smash Andre with anything and destroys him with weapons using the No DQ ECW rules. However this is Andre we are talking about and he doesn't stay down for long.

In fact Andre was undefeated for almost 15 years I think. Defeated now in the first stage is way too soon, if at all! Andre wins.

Andre would literally smash Animal. Yeah, Animal is one tough SOB, but when it comes down to it, Andre "The Giant" would get the win. Adding ECW rules changes nothing in this situation.

Not much to write home about here. Two icons of the 80s, but one was there on his own, the other had a partner. Andre is better than Animal in every imaginable way in singles competition, and would take this one at a canter.

Andre, although Animal and Hawk were great, I dont think Animal amounts to much on his own respectfully. Andre leaves behind a legacy and paved the way for big men..

I would have a hard time picking against Andre no matter who he was facing. But against one half of a tag team, without his other half (or Heidenreich in one of the worst attempts to bring back a tag team I have ever seen) I just can't see Animal winning.

The fact this is ECW rules gives Animal a slight chance, but thats all.

He may go out and hit Andre with a chair, but the no DQ rule means Andre The Fucking Giant could be swinging a chair right back at him!

Animal is one tough SOB, and can take a beating but unluckily for him there is no Hawk to tag in after he takes some abuse from Andre.

The Giant finishes this in pretty short time against the Tag Team specialist.
