Was Christian's injury the best thing to happen to him?

When Captain Charisma got injured I was very worried that he would just br in the mid-card for life. But then WWE.com put up surgery pics, they don't do that with everyone, usually just their "stars". And there was word, don't know how true, but there was word going around that Vince was very impressed with the way Christian was rehabbing and how hard he was pushing himself.

Then he returned at Elimination Chamber to help Edge, and ever since then he's become a main eventer in a way instantly. We've seen E&C and also a damn good cage match tonight. I don't wanna jinx the Instant Classic, but I feel this is finally his time to be in the main event. Yes he was the face of WWECW, but that doesn't compare to being a face of Smackdown.

Not only do I feel that this is his time, but as a peep, I definitely hope it! What does everyone else, the peeps of wrestlezone think? Was Christian's injury a blessing in disguise?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I don't want to hope too soon but if Christian has any chance of being on the main event stage, it is now or never. Creative has plenty of paths they can take to keep him at the main event or after Del Rio's fued with Edge he will drop back to mid-card oblivion...

Although it makes me wonder why they let him go over Del Rio on Smackdown in the cage match. I know that it wasn't a clean win, but honestly as much as I would have liked to see Christian involved in the title fued, based on the fact he won't be until at least after Mania, they should have put Del Rio over Christian in the cage match, and cleanly too just to make him look stronger against Edge. The fact Christian went over is just teasing me that he may be in the title mix at some point, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

He 100% deserves to be in the main event picture. He has worked so fricking hard in his wrestling career and I think it's finally paying off.

Plus, Christian would look pretty damn good with the World Heavyweight Title.

Whenever anyone gets injured it is never a good thing. You lose months and possibly years of your career. Besides that Christian was getting a huge push on Smackdown before he got injured and who knows... He could have won the Royal Rumble and have that epic Edge v Christian for the WHC everyone has been dreaming and drooling about.

Christian is always someone I though should have been in the main event picture. He's always worked well with the top talent, is great in the ring, and has all the skills the WWE looks to for in top talent.

For the longest time I simply thought it was the silly Tag Team rule that seems to exist establishing only one member can actually have a successful world title career. Then when he went to TNA and showed what he could do with the top spot I hoped that upon his return in the WWE they would give him a shot in the main event. Then he gets trapped in WWEECW and relegated to the mid card once again until the injury.

so here's hoping his fortunes change....

Well no it isn't necesarily a good thing for him physically, but it could be a good thing for his career. Even in baseball, a pitcher could have a really bad year or two, turns out his arm is messed up and needs Tommy John Surgery. That pitcher then misses at least a full season. But if he comes back throwing fireballs, people say that that coulda been the best thing to happen to him.

Same thing applies here with Christian. And he wasn't in the middle of a huge push, Del Rio was still a mid-carder, and Christian was doing nothing after the MITB PPV except for fighting McIntyre and Rhodes over and over

Well as a peep Im Hoping and I was thinking the same thing and was gonna post a thread about it too but I guess you beat me to it. It was reported had Christian not got injured it would of led to a heel turn(Which hoping he still does cause he's gold heel or face) and fued with Matt Hardy, which if that would of happened he still would probally be stuck in Mid-Card Hell. So honestly it's the injury and who WWE picked to Kayfabe injure him(which we know ADR). EVERYONE knew Vinny wanted ADR to be HUGE and so by him Kayfabe injuring Christian and then ADR winning the RR it all fell into place for Christian for that LONG OVER DUE Mainevent push.

Off-Topic here's hoping Christian gets added to WHC title match a leading to a yr. long friendship turned fued with Edge and Christian ending at WM 28 TLC Match for the WHC in Edge's retierment match(if the rumors are true if not just take the retierment part out

christian sucks only reason hes 'in the main event scene' right now is cuz once again hes riding edges coattails. If Edge werent champ christian would be nowhere.

Del rio kicked out of his finisher on free TV how can christian possibly be a belivable champ?

Its one thing to dream but to think he actually is or should be main event worrthy is ludicrous.

Yes and no. Yes because ever since he came back, he's been in the main event picture...somewhat. No because if he hadn't been injured, he probably might've won the Royal Rumble and faced Edge at Mania. Remember last time they saw each other before Christian's injury, they weren't exactly on good terms.

I don't know if I would call Christian's injury a blessing in disguise. Kayfabe wise, Del Rio put him on the shelf for months, so of course Christian is going to want some revenge.

Christian's return came at the right time. Del Rio skyrocketed to the top of the Smackdown food chain during Christian's absence. He won the Royal Rumble, and now he's going to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. Christian is helping his long time best buddy(who is the World Heavyweight Champion) and he's going after Smackdown's #1 rising star, Alberto Del Rio, so Captain Charisma will get a nice amount of exposure while this feud is going on.

Will Christian be put into the World Heavyweight Championship picture? I know it's hard to predict right now, but I just can't believe Christian will become a contender for the big gold belt. He's been stuck in the mid card in WWE for quite some time, and I don't think things are going to change anytime soon. There's a chance Christian could be involved in the WHC picture after Wrestlemania. A triple threat match could take place at Extreme Rules, but there's no way he's going to be added to the WHC match at Wrestlemania.

True, he is riding his brother i mean his good friends coattail again.. Why does wwe think we give a fuck about having a triple threat match at wrestlemania it just ruins it, christian wasnt a mainevent player in TNA and hes not one in WWE. if they want him in the main event picture have him win mitb DONT PUT HIM IN THE MAINEVENT AT WRESTLEMANIA..

Yes, i thought the same thing. Since he returned there has been no stopping him. Ive read all results of Raw and SD! recently and its pretty much all Christian.

Im no PEEP, but is the Christian over due world title reign becoming an inevitable reality?

ill be honest, i think his long injury was good. when he returned he got a huge (positive crowd reaction). wwe should be happy cause now they get more viewers who want to watch christain wrestle and chill with edge, plus try to tell me that you dont want to see christain as champ finally. plus look at how everyone has reacted to christains return, it has so much of a good and positive reaction that maybe wwe opened up their eyes and realized that christain is one of their biggest stars.

The creative clearly said Christian wont main event. No matter how much he deserves it, works for it and wants it he will never win a world title. As much as I want him to, the creative clearly dont want that to happen. Even though a triple threat would be fucking awsome. When Del Rio won the Rumble, I thought of who the world champions were, and thinking that Christian's longtime buddy Edge was WHC and RR winner Del Rio was the man who (kayfabe) took out Christian: I instantly wanted a triple threat at Mania. Now THAT is Christians best shot at ME stardom.
