Wacking out a bit of Resident Evil 4.

The Wii version that is, the only version I ain't complete yet (including PC, and I ain't a PC gamer). Upon hearing the news that it's gonna be released in HD sometime this year, I thought it only seemed fitting to dust off my copy of it and live out the good old days before Achievement Points and online Call of Duty. Especially now I've only just discovered that you can use the classic Wii remote and you don't have to use the nun-chuck, it plays exactly like the PS2 version.

Graphically (compared to today's standards) it's not great. At the time it was the best looking thing going but now, in terms of graphics, it's aged noticeably. But the third person shooting remains fucking awesome! Run OR shoot... with a dozen zombies running at you all at once is actually fucking scary! The story is second to none (it's even better five years on and I'd forgotten most of it anyway), Leon is one bad motherfucker yet remains the coolest character in the series. Ashley is still annoying ("HEY, YOU PERVERT!"... shut the fuck up!) and the Iron Maidens remain the creepiest enemy I've ever seen in any game/film ever! And by playing it again it has once again confirmed my believe this is the best game of all time. It blew my mind when I was 14, it still blows my mind at the age of 19 and it will continue to blow my mind for a very long time.

I never said I was good. I play games for fun, if I suck I suck. No big deal. If I die every 2 minutes from being shit, I'm fine with it, I'm having a fucking blast in the process.

Resident Evil 4 is one of my favourite games of all time. It got me back into RE when RE 3 scared me away from them.

That doesn't mean to say I suck at all games, I'm the fucking bee-knees on F1 2010 and I'm fairly decent on COD. Just RE4 (whilst it's my favourite game ever) was always really hard. Besides, I dislike the Wii remote for shooting games anyway.

Things had to change after RE3, that was one of the lowest points in the series.

Yeah RE3 scared the shit out of me, I shouldn't have played at whatever age I was. 4, though, was a great instalment. Often when they try to revamp a series so radically it doesn't work but it was so different you couldn't compare it to the rest, it was like a new start. Still say RE code veronica X is the best though.

Your absolutley on the money. I get my copy of RE4 every 2 months or so just to play the one of maybe 4 games I never get tired of. It reallyis deserving one of the best games ever made, and it really saved the Resident Evil series.

Everyone hates on 4 and 5 but I really think that they are the best two games of the franchise. I can't wait until 4 is remastered and released on the 360.

Can I tell ya, in a lot of ways I prefer 5 to 4. That said, 4 was pretty good.

*****. It was just a large scale re-vitalisation. Is it any less scary or reliant on intuition? I dislike the group of people who cloak themselves with this belief.

And 5 was really good in a different way to four. It addressed the long-standing issues and running story of the games but I didn't feel the early building parts were as good. Playing four from scratch was a great introduction to the style of play and things. Fuck it I love em both.

In fact I had a friend stay over one time when I hired RE5. We vowed to complete it but it was incredibly difficult until about 3 hours in on our last try at the end boss fight we realised we'd been trying to defeat Wesker in the wrong way. We played through the night until lunch time the next day. One of my ultimate gaming experiences was that game.

I just got done playing Resident Evil 1 and 2. I'm about to start 3.

Then they decided they are re-releasing Code Veronica and 4 on Xbox Live/PSN with HD graphic upgrades in the fall. Fucking score. Fantastic game series.

RE4 is fucking brilliant. Probably one of the last video games I actually got into, bought, and played all the way through. The controls in that game are awesome, especially the shooting controls with the joystick and everything. Love that game.

I haven't played a good game in awhile man. Last game I got good and obsessed over besides RE4 was America's Army 2, got totally sucked into that game and world for months man, but lost interest when AA3 came out and my shitty PC couldn't keep up with the framerate. Awesome game series.

I played it so much, I got sick of it. I might buy the Wii one eventually though. Nothing like going around with the Infinite Rocket Launcher.
