Undertaker's turn

theirishtaker

The Irish dark light
Hey guys,

With all the talk of the taker hbk match and possible outcomes, the main concensus seems to be that both have only a couple of years left in the ring at most. Most say that shawn will become a GM or manager etc. however the undertakers character doesn't really allow this option. What do you think is the best direction for the taker?

Personally i would like to see something like the ministry again which would keep his presence in WWE as stable leader/manager and also leave the possibility open for some special one off matches. I would like him to recruit some heels and faces to give the stable an edge. guys like big show, swagger, carlito, bourne and miz could really benifit from a little repackage and taker's guidance.

Let me know what you guys think and where you would take the Undertakers character.

Well this whole thing is a bit of a stretch anyway, Taker turning heel and all. But I sure as hell wouldn't want to see THOSE GUYS you suggested joining forces with Undertaker!?!! The Miz, Swagger,Bourne etc? LOL he's be better off getting Kevin Thorne, re-hire Gangrel, and I dunno Viscera or what not. Okay, I know these aren't everyone's favourite wrestlers but if you're going with an idea like a "ministry" type of stable.....better than The Miz lol! What do you got rocks in your head?

Yeah, once i posted them names i knew i'd get a backlash and to be honest your right. but i just cant see anyone in todays WWE who would fit in without repackaging.

Also Taker would not be a heel, Lets face it he could spit on fans and still get cheered at this stage. more so i would just like to see a mix of faces and heels in the stable to give it a bit of an edge. last thing you would want is a goody goody ministry of darkness LOL!!!

I don't really think this is the best way to go. Undertaker's character has always, to me at least, seemed more effective when he spoke less. In your scenario he would have to basically serve as a mouthpiece for the group and I don't think that would end well.

Also with all the time off he already takes (I know a lot of it is to heal up nagging injuries) it seems like Mark Callaway is content to ride off into the sunset once his career is over. He doesn't seem like someone that would want to hang on just for the sake of it or to return periodically for pay days.

I do agree that some guys like Swagger and Bourne could use some sort of re-packaging or new direction but I think to suggest that Big Show or the Miz need a rub from the Undertaker is a little rediculous. Big Show I feel has been excellent in his complementary roles with Jericho and Miz. He is entertaining as hell and is still viewed as an upper second tier star. He would gain nothing in my opinion by becoming a minion to the Undertaker. The Miz as well does not need the Undertaker to help him get over. He is completely over right now as a heel and seems to be on the cusp of reaching the main event level. He is a budding star that would be better off as a leader than as someone's underling at this point in his career.

I think big show might actually work well in this kind of stable as the enforcer as such. sure he doesn't need the rub but he could certainly help solidify the threat of the stable and also give a rub to other guys as taker would not really wrestle. the miz, i agree, would not suit this stable.

Taker would not really need to talk that much as it could be a slow build after mania when he takes time off. they could flicker the lights once every three weeks or so and someone disappears from the ring. this would be takeer gathering his minions as such. he wouldn't even need to appear! when he does return, his minions could start destroying ppl without taker there, instead a flickering light in matches to give them the edge. taker could appear seldomly as to allow for his lighter schedule.

This is only my idea, but i would love to hear different ideas for different ways to go with his character.

Uhh you would def fail if you were a script writer for WWE, cuz the Ministry was already a stable and had the right people at the time to make it a stable, and honestly, i think that stable sucked back then and failed anyway... Leave the Undertaker the way he is, he don't need no Stable... and if anyone was gonna be in his stable if there was one, the people you chose were by far the worst people ever to be in a Ministry of Darkness stable with the undertaker... How do you mention people like them and not even mention KANE?!

I've always considered Taker to be one of if not THE greatest of all time (IMO, Taker is the undisputed G.O.A.T. of wrestling), with that said, I would like to see the undertaker retire and leave it at that, sometimes its better that way. Someone like Michaels could still do well in a secondary role like a GM or even a manager, but like you said, taker doesn't have this option.
The Undertaker has always been a larger than life character so in order to keep that mystique its probably not best to tweak his character, or have him in any secondary role. If Taker stays with the WWE after he retires, his place should be in the back mentoring young talent, booking or something of this nature, this way he could still be a valuable asset, and you could always bring back the Undertaker for a sporadic appearance once every couple years to beat up on someone or to do some of the supernatural stuff we're used to seeing from Taker. If you only see Taker come around once in a blue moon, every time he would appear it would be worth seeing, fans love legends, but they don't love legend overkill.

I agree - I would like to see him retire. He just doesn't come anywhere near close to having "it" anymore. All he has going for him is a kick ass intro and he can't even do that right (see Elimination Chamber entrance).

Unfortunately, I think he is going to come out on top and Michaels retire, which isn't a bad thing, but Shawn can still put on a show. I wont however miss close-ups of his face though (poor guy).

Anyways, Taker is just hard to watch now. He RARELY ever works anymore - pretty much just on a PPV basis which to me is crap.

he cant do his entrance right see elimination chamber the pyro guys set off a charge too soon not takers fault. and to say he cant go anymore how many wrestlers do you think would carry on with a match when they have just suffered 2nd degree burns.
when the undertaker retires he will probably return every now and then and that will be it i would like to see him create a stable of young wrestlers but dont call it the ministry i think something like they are the minions of hells gate or something like that would be good as for who to put in it the ripper paul burchill could do with a push in the right direction not to mention loki and daniel bryan then all he needs is a tag team and he has the lot

His entrance at EC was a joke. How about he should have paid attention. Regardless, Im not referencing just his match at EC - his matches haven't been good for years. Shawn CARRIED him in WM25 which was his best outing in a long long time. Just like Punk carried him in their fued.

Im not trying to cut him down - I grew up watching him - I can actually say I watched him and Shawn from start to finish. But when you have guys coming from ECW and now NXT who warrant TV time, I hate to see it used up by this guy anymore.

And Im sorry - but no stable of darkness again please. This isn't the 90's when that cartoonish crap killed them. No Gangrel or Viscera like someone earlier mention for christ sake. Its time for them to maximize the good talent they have and stop letting them take a backseat.

And I swear to god, if someone says Daniel Bryan should be in an undertaker stable like the last guy did, they should be removed from these forums.

if ECW wrestlers warranted so much TV time then why did no one watch them when they DID have it? and blaming Taker for someone elses F up? double fail... personally, though I like characters with a dark side so I'd be all for that if they did it right, can't really envision how they would, but who knows?

Did you even watch that crap? They spent half the show with segmants like Abe Washington or whatever his name is. Christian, Zeke, Ryder, Tatsu, Benjamin, etc, these boys can bang - alot harder than Undertaker can. ECW was poorly put together. But those boys have a bright future and thats why they are all going to the branded shows and not being let go. ECW was their grooming.

Undertaker just need to wrap it up - plain and simple. Like I said, not a digg at him, but giving him a title when he has to take time off between defending it? Sorry, but you have people like Christian who held the ECW title for close to a year and defended it constantly and never took time off. Punk is another example and there are plenty more.

Whenever Taker is on TV its a 15 - 20 minute bore. I agree - I liked his Dark Heel side, but that crap won't cut it now - not with him at least. Besides, you don't have the roster to have a "Dark" stable. And this isn't TNA - WWE doesn't need to rehire mid-90's wrestlers to attract viewers.

Gimme more Christian, Punk, Benjamin, Miz, Swagger, Zeke, Orton and less Taker, Michaels, HHH, Vince, Bret Hart, etc. And this is coming from an Old School wrestling fan. Bottomline, the new school of wrestling is just more entertaining. I hate to say it, but WWE needs to borrow that part of TNA's formula.

oh come on now, these new guys can hang, but they got no charisma save for a few, and about tna... I mean... really? ... you wanna compare their talent to TNA, tna everytime imo, and sure undertaker is getting old but I can only think of one other man his size does a suicide dive ( who happens to be in TNA) granted that was a couple years ago and I agree they don't have the roster for the dark thing and it would prolly feel a lil rehashed, why I said if they did it right, but I just couldn't see how they could

Personally after WM 26 I would like to see Taker have a nice long break. Then when he comes back I would honestly like to see him fued with a few younger guys if i had to choose one I would say Swagger.I always thought Swagger could benifit alot from a fued with taker and i think it will make him look like a credible superstar again.
So my view after wm 26 takers rests then a return program with swagger or another younger star.
