Undertaker's new ministry?

so as i was watching last nights episode of smackdown with the whole taker/kane feud going on and them trying to make taker seem weak due to paul bearer being with kane. i wondered why not start a new ministry to kind of give taker more "power".

if undertaker were to have another ministry which superstars on the roster do you guys think would be qualified?

i would have to say

Luke Gallows
Mercury
Vance Archer
Curt Hawkins

While I would normally say that I would really want to see some type of formation like that of The Ministry of Darkness, I don't think it should happen. First of all, it wouldn't even fit well in the story that is currently going on with the Undertaker and Kane. Second, there is practically no one who can actually fit the profile of being a part of the Ministry of Darkness.

The people you mentioned should not even be considered. Luke Gallows ain't worth a dime without CM Punk and even with CM Punk, he still he isn't that valuable. Mercury is just meh. Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins are both shit. Seriously, what purpose could they serve for the Ministre of Darkness? Nothing much really; both are pretty shit. Point is, none of these guys would make such a faction credible. Most if not all these guys are either jobbers (low-carders) or are have been MIA for quite some time now.

The original Ministry of Darkness had an EPIC storyline, with epic fueds and members. Fast-forward to now, and such a faction would not exist as well as it did before...

Taker forming a new Ministry as a babyface makes absolutely no sense and nobody would certainly want to see the Ministry as face and in this day & age, the new Ministry would certainly not work in the PG era with the stuff they do, it wouldnt be allowed & they wouldnt be liked by anyone even if it was allowed simply because the guys you named suck. However even though it wont be liked by anyone & wont work, I think WWE should try it anyway but with Kane as the leader of the new Ministry since he's getting Taker's powers, Paul Bearer & everything that belonged to Taker. And the funny thing is just yesterday, I was thinking Luke Gallows could fit into the group just for his image, Archer & Curt Hawkins could probably be repackaged into a dark team and be in the group to try & get over. I also think The Dudebusters could do with being in this group but at the same time, I think Dudebusters would be better off being Edge's new Edgeheads and Edge could teach them a thing about how to be a dude since him & Christian were practically were dudes back in the day.

The Undertaker's "satanic" portrayl during the days of the Ministry of Darkness was among the most controversial subjects that came bout during the Attitude Era. Technically speaking, Taker's character could generally be seen more as a tweener even when he's a face. His dark persona, the various "supernatural" elements and the fact that he consistantly is referred to by commentators, or himself, as demonic or evil goes completely against the traditional face role.

However, as the "Lord of Darkness" for the Ministry, he was a heel without question and that's the only way a reformation of the Ministry of Darkness could occur. Under the current PG format, it simply wouldn't work. All the darker aspects of an already dark angle would be reduced to some lame cult from a bad episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

There's been heavy talk that WM 27 will be Taker's last WrestleMania so there's not going to be any significant change in Taker's character. People generally want Taker more of a face, they want to cheer him, Vince McMahon knows that so that's how it's going to be.

I agree with Jack-Hammer. This may well be Undertaker's final Wrestlemania and there are already several indicators that he is close to retirement. At this stage, any change to Undertaker's character or the building of a new stable around him (Ministry or not) would be pretty much pointless. Undertaker will remain "as is" until his retirement and that's how most people (and the Undertaker himself) would probably want it.

I don't ever see Undertaker reforming the Ministry. The Undertaker is a guy who has always been better on his own than in a group. He doesn't need a new ministry, and in this day and age a Ministry faction probably wouldn't work anyway. There's just no need for it. Taker doesn't need it, and there's really nobody on Smackdown that would fit the role very well either.

Honestly, I never liked the ministry in the slightest, so this is like asking me which arm I prefer cutting off, I'll answer but really I'd just be thinking that I'd rather not.

OK taker needing more power is something that is exclusive to THIS storyline only because he is against kane and the source of their strengths is supernatural, hence why the ministry COULD be involved. But firstly what you would have to do is introduce the ministry, and set any images apart from them being heel, because obvious the ministry was heel and people may still have that image in their head. That initially is not easy.

Moving on, as the ministry in this day and age would only really work either for this storyline because it means something to this storyline, or if taker turned heel you would have to consider turning taker heel again. There are a few problems with this, it is towards the end of his career and I don't think the WWE would let taker go out as a heel and I don't think taker has the mic ability to pull it off adequately anymore. he's not kane, he has never delivered really great stand-out speaking promos like kane has been doing for months now. He honestly couldn't pull off being heel anymore especially since he doesn't look so much like a phenom anymore but a guy with bad knees.

So this would leave you the option of introducing the ministry up until the end of this story.........that could be sunday if taker wins........:wtf: If the feud carried on past this sunday then firstly it would be amazing cos its laready gone three PPV's and thats about WWE's current limit for extending storylines, and secondly the same thing would happen, if taker won ministry would have to be heel which I've already explained doesnt really work or they would disband.

Not to mention the logistics or the situation. Here you would have a face stable in the form of the ministry fighting one guy? That doesnt work, you need less numbers on the face or underdog side to draw interest otherwise it would just be the ministry kicking the shit out of kane until the PPV and then the same thing at the PPV.

But you did just give me a brain wave, where I said that kane can carry heel promos and successfully has done this year. This sunday, have it look like undertaker is on the verge of winning, bring the ministry back.......TO KANES SIDE!!!. That would set the feud up for longer and have much more of an impact than simply paul bearer turning once again, bring back the ministry so taker can really fight for survival. I promise you it would draw a far better response than simply taker just winning or the ministry returning to his side, and it would give the guys you mentionned something to do. Btw I agree with all the guys you said, they seem like viable ministry members to me.

So yeah, in unison guys......KANES MINISTRY OF DARKNESS

I also think that this wouldnt work in the PG era as they would need to do things that aren't suitable for the Children, UGH.

But if it ever did happen again I think that these people would be in it.

Tyler Reks,
Curt Hawkins,
Big Show,
Edge,
The Nexus (All get drafted).

the Ministry was great, but in this era it's just not really possible. Plus I believe taker wasn't a huge fan of doing that stuff in 1999 but damn he was good at it. If anything, I always thought Kane should create his own group, when Nexus attacked Taker I thought for a second maybe that was it. But to no avail

The Ministry of Darkness would have to dramatically toned down to have any chance of succeeding in PG era WWE, and have no references to Satanism at all, which would completely ruin the point of the faction in my opinion, making it totally worthless.

Plus, there is noone in the WWE at this point, other than Tyler Reks and maybe Luke Gallows who could fit in with the image of the Ministry. If WWE wanted to add more current wrestlers to it, they would have to give gimmick overhauls to whoever they selected, and with the fact it would need to be toned down, and that it wouldnt really benefit Undertaker at this time, I dont think it would be worth doing.

Should just bring back ABA or Big Evil gimmick or the Undertaker for awhie again instead of MOD which will not wok in this era in the WWE. But then again MOD could work, instead of being sanatists they could be into that black magic stuff. I mean can still work and be great, Sherlock Holmes movie was PG-13 and had alot of black magic in it with the villians. So Taker and his group could use black magic for new MOD. Group cn consist of Taker, Kane, Luke Gallows, Tyler Reks, Goldust, Ezikiel Jackson and turn one of tag teams into goths.

I say no.

Undertaker doesn't need anyone right now to be powerful. He just needs to stay off the injuries which will not happen. Why would we want another stable. We already have the Nexus. It would suck to have the WWE over crowded with large stables like that. Plus, he is in his last years and I don't think a lot of people want to see him spend his last few years of wrestling managing a bunch of un charismatic guys who can't make it on their own.

No way. The original Ministry was awesome back in the day, but Taker doesn't need one now because he's at a whole other level now compared to back in the Ministry days. He is taking time off for injuries and will come back in time for a Wrestlemania feud. Adding a new Ministry stable to the mix would make things too complicated. They already have a huge stable in the Nexus and developing two instead of one would make the booking too complex. Even for a Nexus VS New Ministry feud, it would be far too confusing and result in a lot of guys getting future endeavoured for no fan reaction after either group splits up.
