True Irony

I was talkin to a friend of mine's wife the other day and she told me what had to be the true un-edited definition of irony.

She told me that she was walking through a local casino one day with her husband and spotted a couple of what looked to be blind ladies sitting at a row of machines that she was passing. She said the next thing that she knew, she was crashing to the floor and fell right on her face. She said that she looked to see what she had tripped over to find that it was a dog belonging to one of the ladies. It was laying quietly with it's harness on and everything.

I looked at her and said "wait a minute, let me get this straight." You were walking through a casino and was so preoccupied with looking at a couple of blind women that were not watching where you were going and tripped over a seeing eye dog?

I mean, is this not true irony or what? lol
